My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I am hoping to share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce always carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

WHOOPS A DAISY!!!

Hi Everyone

Happy Tuesday .. .. another day nearly done and dusted.

I had a thank-you card order collected today and decided I would make a quick "new baby" card before starting the next batch of "thank you cards".  What a lovely polite set of "happy couples" I have been working for.  All remembering their manners!

So I printed off my image and thought . . . should I make a boy or a girl card?  Through choice I would always make a boy card.  I don't know why but I always like the look of the boy cards more once finished .. .. so I decided it had better be a girl card.

I make my card .. .. take my pictures and just opened up the Digistamp website for linking only to find I have used "Bathtime Fynn" .. .. a boy baby .. .. on a baby girl card!!!  What am I like?  I am going to have to make a tiny pink bow and stick it on Flynn's head!!!  LOL!!!

This used:

Image:  Digistamp Boutique "Baby Fynn" (whoops!!!)
Sentiment:  Computer generated using font Mister Sirloin
Backing Papers:  Digistamp Boutique "Ditsy Rose Papers"
Sizzix Die:  "657188" Tiny Tabs and Tags
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
ProMarker
Glamour Dust
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon from my stash box

I will now hang my head in shame and link my creation up to the Digistamp Boutique Competition for August and also into the Papertake Weekly Challenge where they want you to create a card for an occassion .. .. and what better occasion than the arrival of a new baby .. .. whatever sex it is!!!

Now to put people out of their misery regarding my Sunday Snippet card.  Quite a few of you contacted me asking about the image and sentiment I used.  I think I have managed to let everyone know who asked but a few more enquiries have come since .. .. so here you go:

Well the image was Pink Petticoat "Lola Rose - Pretty"

and the sentiment .. .. well I feel a bit guilty about this now because it was free on a magazine years ago.  It was as the "Born To Shop" range was launched.  But if you keep your eyes open on Ebay it does quite often make an appearance there.  I don't want to start a bidding war but there are a few available here at the moment (and I hasten to add that none of them are mine!!)

OK I am off now to add a pink ribbon to Baby Fynn .. .. poor chap :-( .. .. I hope I don't inflict any lasting damage on him

Have a lovely evening everyone.

ANOTHER BABY CARD

Hi Everyone

Happy Thursday .. .. I hope you are having a good day so far.

Blue skies and sunshine here today .. .. woo hoo!!!!  I hope you have the same (and I also hope the Bank holiday weekend is going to be equally as lovely).

Yesterday I shared a baby girl card .. .. so today I have a baby boy card.  Not for any challenges this time .. .. just because I wanted to make one .. .. and here it is.  Isn't he the cutest little fella?!?!?!?  I really enjoyed colouring him.

This used:

Image:  Cuddly Buddly -  Eline's Digi Stamp "Baby with Bear and Basket"  (so this is only part of the image set)
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat "Tiny New Baby Sentiments"
Backing Papers:  Docrafts Forever Friends "New Arrival"
Nestabilities:  Standard Circle Large and Scalloped Circle Large
ProMarkers
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
My Trust Sewing Machine
Ribbon from my stash box

and that is it.

I am busy on the wedding stationery front today so it is short and sweet from me.

I'll catch you again soon.

PAPERTAKE WEEKLY CHALLENGE

Hi Everyone

Happy Wednesday !!!!

I'm here at a much more respectable time today.

Thank you for all your lovely comments on the "lucky dip" card I posted last night .. .. it is cheating a little to do the lucky dip from my Penny Black Stamp drawer though because let's face it I'm not going to pull a bad one out am I?  Every stamp in that drawer is super scrummy.

I never realised that the image I had used was no longer readily available .. .. I will try not to flaunt it quite so much in future .. .. nothing worse than seeing an image you would like to own but can't get your mitts on!!!

Anyway, back to today and my offering for The Papertake Weekly Challenge this week .. .. where it is a "free for all" along with a sketch. However if you don't fancy the sketch then you can use any of the others from their lovely array.

So here is my offering

 This used:

Image: Docrafts Forever Friends (not sure what the name is - no clues on the stamp itself)
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat "Tiny New Baby Sentiments"
Backing Papers:  DocraftsForever Friends "New Arrival"
Ribbons and buttons from my stash box
My Trusty Sewing Machine
Diamond Stickles
ProMarkers

and here is Sketch No. #78 which is the one I have worked to:

So that is me for today.

Our youngest Son is coming for dinner tonight ahead of the big move on Saturday so I wanted to get ahead of the game (his cupboards and fridge/freezer is quickly starting to look like Old Mother Hubbard's!!).

Have a great rest of the day everyone and I will catch you again tomorrow.

ONE OF EACH

Hi Everyone

What a glorious Monday it has been weather-wise .. .. a sign the kids are going back to school soon.

Today's share uses a digi image from somewhere that is new to me.  I found a brilliant image I want to use for something else that I will share another day .. .. but whilst there found this little beauty.

I love making baby cards and the little rabbit amongst all the washing looked so cute I just had to have it.

The decision then came .. .. do I make a baby boy card or a baby girl card?   But to save making a decision I made both LOL!!!

These used:

Image:  Just Inklined "Baby Line"
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat "Tiny New Baby Sentiments"
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat "Pinstripes" and "Little Polka Dots"
Martha Stewart Punch:  Traditional Scallop
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon from the Stash Box

So double trouble from me tonight.

This image made me smile and walk down memory lane a little whilst colouring it in .. .. it made me think of when we used to wash the kids soft toys and hang them out to dry .. .. happy days!!

I hope you have a good evening.  Still lots to do here so must fly!

Ooops .. .. sorry .. .. nearly forgot to say thank you for all your lovely comments on my card yesterday.  I have come to the conclusion that hubby isn't the best judge of my cards LOL!!!

Catch you again soon

HOW EARLY ?!?!?

Hi Everyone

Happy Saturday!!

Well how early am I today?  This must be a world record for me .. .. and it isn't even a scheduled post LOL!!!

I have to admit that I haven't actually made this creation this morning though . .. I made it yesterday in preparation as I knew this morning would just fly away with me.

I am going to have a very rare and exciting day .. .. a day with some lovely blog pals .. .. and I still need to be getting some bits together to take with me so had better not spend too long here waffling!!

My card is also going to be entered into the Ready Teddy Go Challenge for August where "anything goes" .. .. but of course you do need a bear to feature on your creation too.  Thanks Sally for reminding me about the challenge. xx

So here we go:

This used:

Image:  Teddy Bo "Teddy BoBea Tabs"
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat (yes, I am now round to colour 3 of the new 8 .. .. "Cafe Creme")
Martha Stewart Punch:  Lace Heart
My Trusty Sewing Machine
Diamond Stickles
ProMarkers and Chalk
Button, Ribbon and Pearls from the Stash Box

OK .. .. time to make myself respectable.

See you tomorrow with my snippet make!  Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

NEW BABY CARD 5 OF 5

Hi Everyone

I hope your Saturday has been a good one.

Mine has flown by and part of it involved the collection of the final part of a wedding stationery order (including the post box I made the other day).  This now means we can actually see the top of some of our furniture in the dining room.  Wow!!  (Not for long though .. .. I shall be covering it all with something else tomorrow  LOL!!).

Being busy has made for a bit of a rush baby make today .. .. but I still love it.  I love any new baby card really.

So here it is

This used:

Image and Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Paper:  Dovecraft "Back to Basics" (I think - it has lost it's front page)
ProMarkers
Ribbon, Pearls and Eyelets from the Stash Box

So that is me for today.

I'll hopefully catch you again tomorrow .. .. time and "must do" list permitting.

NEW BABY CARD 4 OF 5

Yay!!!!

Managed to make something to share today .. .. but only just!!!  LOL!!!

Life is a blur and a rush but oh so very exciting.

I am in the middle of quite a busy spell at the moment and am hoping to work through it without having another blog break . .. .. but if I have to then I have to.  We shall just have to see how it goes.

Card number 4 in my series of 5 just has to use my favourite Penny Black baby stamp .. .. I love this one so much.

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "2073J" Baby Hammock
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
My Trusty Sewing Machine
Pinking Shears
ProMarkers
Ribbon, thread, button and charm from the Stash Box

I have had quite a few emails and comments about "My Trusty Sewing Machine" and how come I can sew in straight lines .. .. LOL!!!  That doesn't always happen if you look closely LOL!!

So I thought you might like to be introduced to my little playmate who I would never, ever part with.  He never gets put away!!

This little beauty has been with me for over 30 years and was a very special Christmas present from my lovely hubby.   It wasn't cheap at the time but as with all things you get what you pay for.

But having said that it has earned it keep many times over as it has been used to make so many clothes for hubby, me, the kids and even customers in the days when I was at home with the boys.

Can you believe I made a fully lined and tailored three piece suit for my hubby once upon a time with the help of my Auntie who is a tailoress?

Do I sew clothes now?  Nah .. .. just cards LOL!!!  (But the roof space does have fabric in it just in case I get the urge LOL!!)

So now you have met my machine, heard of all the years I have had it, and how much I have done with it you will realise that the secret is just lots of use .. .. ..  along with a very useful foot that is attached to it

Can you see the little lines on the foot?   I use these as guides and line them up to the edge of my card.

Hope you liked meeting my special playmate.

I'll catch you all again soon .. .. and hopefully at some stage over the next week I will catch up with all your lovely blogs.  So sorry I am a rubbish blog buddy at the moment :-(

NEW BABY CARD 3 OF 5

Hi Everyone

Hope you have all had a good day .. .. and if not that tomorrow is much, much better for you!!!

I have been cooking on gas today and am well pleased with my achievements of the day (not something you will hear said very often in the House of Hearts as I am a tough taskmaster and give myself ridiculous goals each day .. .. written down too so I don't forget any LOL!!).

Anyway, on to today's share .. .. which is card three in my series of baby cards :

This used:

Image and Sentiment:  Butterfly Kisses Around-2-It Stamps "A2C1015" Hello Baby!
Backing Papers:  Polka Dot Cardstock from local craft store (not named)
Nestabilities:  Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
My Trust Sewing Machine
ProMarkers
Lace from the lovely lady at our local market
There is also a touch of Glamour Dust on the word "Welcome" but I don't think you can tell on the photographs.

and that is card no. 3 .. .. I hope you likey, likey.

Just a funny share before I leave you.

Hubby and I were having a little sit down ahead of bedtime last night and was catching up on a little bit of Coronation Street that we had recorded.  One of the scenes was in the newspaper cabin and there was a lovely shot of the card display .. .. and if you are anything like me you are always drawn to them and scan your eyes over everything on show.

Well what did I see?

A CHRISTMAS CARD FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL!!!

I even had to get hubby to rewind a little to check I was reading it right .. .. and yes I was!

Now the programme we were watching wasn't ages old .. .. possibly a week .. .. so this means it is official .. .. Christmas is on its way .. .. get those Christmas cards made LOL!!!

As for my post box of yesterday .. .. sorry I can't share a picture of that one as it is a special one for an order.  But I have enjoyed making it so much that I am going to make another to take to the next wedding fayre I am doing in October.  So I will post that one for you to see when I have made it.

Have a lovely evening everyone and I'll catch you with card number 4 tomorrow.

NEW BABY CARD 2 OF 5

Hi Everyone

Another day nearly done and dusted!!

I have spent some of today decorating a post box for a "happy couple" that will be having their special day soon!!  Awwww!!!

A different style to what I have decorated before and it involved me having to cut a hole for posting cards and good wishes through.  I have been dreading cutting this hole since I took delivery of the box .. .. but why I have no idea.  Silly me!

New scalpel in hand and lots of measuring and marking and all was good.   Phew!!!

The post box isn't for sharing of course but my baby card for the day is:

This used:

Image:  Stampendous! "XXD003" Baby's Bath
Sentiment:  Stampendous!  "F181" Babies Touch
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
Nestabilities:  Circles and Scalloped Circles
My Trusty Sewing Machine
ProMarkers and Chalk
Ribbon, shaped eyelets and pearls from the Stash Box

I have had these little shaped eyelets for ages and love them to bits .. .. but have finally decided they need to be used.  It isn't as if there aren't loads of them and in lots of different shapes too!! LOL!!

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Off to do a bit more to the post box now.

NEW BABY THEME 1 OF 5

Hi Everyone

I hope your day has been good.

I decided on my theme for this week .. .. new babies .. .. another favourite make of mine.

Not sure why people say "new baby" though because I have never known anyone have an "old baby".  LOL!!!

It is a busy old week in the House of Hearts this week (just for a change) so quick posts from me this week. If I was organised I suppose I would have a week's worth scheduled .. .. but sadly I haven't had chance to do that.

Anyway, here we go with 1 of 5 on the baby front .. ..

This used:

Image:  Digistamp Boutique "Baby Dan" .. .. isn't he a cutie?!?!?
Sentiment:  Computer Generated using font "Arial Narrow"
Backing Papers:  DCWV "Nana's Nursery" Baby Boy
ProMarkers and Chalk
My Trust Sewing Machine
X-Cut Corner Rounder Punch
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Ribbon from the Stash Box

I am also going to enter this into the Digistamp Boutique Challenge for June

So the football didn't quite go to plan did it yesterday!!  Never mind!!  Hubby is used to supporting teams that don't win so he wasn't too heartbroken.  Tee hee!!!

Have a lovely evening everyone.  I'll catch you again soon.

Need to go and get ready for a lovely "happy couple".

PAPERTAKE WEEKLY

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all snuggly and warm!!

What a nippy, nippy day it has been .. .. .. although I have been charging about the place all day so have been well warm.  That is one advantage (or disadvantages) of working downstairs and having all your equipment upstairs.  I wonder how many calories I burnt off today?!?!?!?   LOL!!!

Still on the theme of lazy crafting I am taking advantage of the sketch over at Papertake Weekly and used that to create this little beauty (I love making baby cards).

This used:

Image:  Hero Arts "E3804" Special Delivery
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  DCWV "Nana's Nursery "Baby Boy"
My Trust Sewing Machine
Pinking Shears
ProMarkers
Button, pearls and bits of ribbon from the Stash Box

and then of course here is the magic sketch .. .. another beauty for the "repeat sometime" folder!!

OK .. .. bath time for me now and then jacket spuds!!!  Oh I know how to live the high life don't I!!  I suppose that will be all the calories I burnt off earlier put back on!!

A few folk are asking about the little flowers I make and how I put them together.  I promise to do a little tutorial on those too .. .. but sorry just didn't have time today.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

BABY CARD AND NATURE WATCH !!!

Hi Everyone

I know I posted yesterday morning but you know it seemed really weird not posting last night .. .. and it seemed a shame to take my little birthday wallet off top slot too quickly .. .. it seems ages ago since I posted last LOL!!!

Anyway, here I am now with a quick post of one of my favourite type of cards to make .. .. a new baby card!!  Awwww...  I am such a slush pot!!

Here is my creation

This used:

Image: Penny Black "2073J" Baby Hammock
Sentiment and Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
Josy Rose: Nail Heads
Nestabilities: Standard Circles Large, Classic Scalloped Circles Large
My Trust Sewing Machine
ProMarkers
Crystal Stickles
Ribbon and brad from the Stash Box

.. .. .. and that is my share for today.

Just off to spend a couple of hours with my Mum and put my inserts into my cards whilst I am there.

I am taking Mum some lettuce and mint out of the garden and whilst picking them just saw a garden inhabitant that has been around all week now.  A friendly frog!!   Everytime he appears he makes me jump - even though I am expecting to see it.

We have seen him every night and morning this week when we water.  He hops out from under the huge courgette leaves normally .. .. but fooled me this time by coming out from inside the runner bean wigwam!!  LOL!!! .. .. he isn't very big and quite cute for a frog.  I always turn the hose pipe onto "mist" and give him a good shower when he appears.  He seems to really enjoy it.

I will have to see if I can get a picture of him.  I think he perhaps lives under the shed come night time as that is where he eventually hops off to if we stay around in the garden too long.

We also seem to have quite a few butterflies too .. but they are quite small this year.  Last night's new butterfly was extra beautiful and I have never seen one like it before.  When its wings were together it looked silver white but when flying it was the most gorgeous violet blue colour .. .. a bit like the parma violet sweets we used to have as kids.  But no pattern on it that we could see .. .. just tiny and very beautiful.

I am going to have to take my camera outside when I do my "land duties" in future.

Have a lovely rest of Thursday everyone.

Love
