THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY IS DISAPPEARING!!

Hi Everyone

I cannot believe that tomorrow will be New Year's Eve .. .. .. where has the lazy Christmas break gone?

Well .. .. yes, I have been a bit lazy, but I thought the break was going to last for ages and that I was going to get lots done .. .. including some watching of films etc.  Can you believe I haven't watched one film all holiday!!  In fact the only programme that I can say I have watched properly all holiday is the Royle Family from Christmas Day.

I managed a bit of crafting today though which was nice.

Here is my favourite make of the day

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "3811J" Winsome
Backing Papers:  "Lilac Bouquet Paper Pack" downloaded from Aimee Asher
Martha Stewart Punch:  Doily Lace
Woodware Punches:  Daisy
Josy Rose:  Acrylic Domes
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
Glamour Dust
Thread from the Stash Box

I have had a few emails asking about the "nail heads" and bits I use from Josy Rose so I have done a link on the Acrylic Domes I have used today .. .. from there you will find the nail heads under "studs and nail heads" on the left hand side and also gorgeous gems and ribbons.  (But beware .. .. the prices are just amazing and you might need a few pennies .. .. .. though you do get loads for just a few pennies).

So that is me for today.

I hope you have all had a lovely day and I will catch you all again tomorrow.

I was hoping to have hit a little craft sale somewhere with my Christmas pennies  .. ..   but no.  Not this time.  Never mind - at least my car will start now.

So just a quick share today ahead of us heading out to see some of our friends this evening.

WHERE DID TODAY GO?

Hi Everyone

I am still in relaxed (and a bit lazy) Christmas mode .. .. and today has flown by.  Who stole it?  Or more to the point "What stole it and made my posting late today?"  Well I will tell you .. .. .. ... Playstation Games!!!!

We had a game between us at Christmas .. .. and I am a monkey when I get my hands on a game .. .. .. I just don't know when to stop  LOL!!!  The game we got includes lots of different sports .. .. and I have gained my Bronze Archery Trophy .. .. woo hoo!!  I doubt I am going to gain any trophies for my frisby skills though.  I am completely naff .. .. but it does make for a great amount of laughter!!!

I have been playing with some goodies that Anice from Funky Hand sent to me just before Christmas (but can't share those yet) .. .. .. ... and I also made the following little creation that I can share with you.

This used:

Backing Paper:  Memory Stor
Image:  Hero Art "CL375" Big Flowers

THE BRAYER IS OUT OF THE BOX !!!

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all well and have had a wonderful Christmas.

Yesterday we were 13 for a lunch-time buffet and an evening meal .. .. .. today we are back to 2 !!  :-(

I don't know it is "all or nothing"  LOL!!!

Big Baby Boy and his wife have gone back to London as they need to get ready for escaping the country on Thursday.  Lovely to see them .. .. very short and sweet but very enjoyable.

Little Baby Boy also went home this morning after a couple of nights on our sofa!!  So back to just hubby and I now .. .. .. and we are planning on a bit of chilling quiet time ahead of our next bit of entertaining on New Years Eve.

We had a bit of a problem yesterday .. . my car decided that it didn't want to start .. .. which meant getting all the cars on our drive was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle because mine wasn't parked very square and sensible .. .. we managed it but there were some strange angles going on LOL!!

Today it still didn't want to start so we tried using jump leads from my hubby's car to mine .. but no good.  Thankfully the RAC with their super-sized battery came to my rescue and we have spent an hour charging it by leaving the engine running and going for a ride around.

We turned off the engine when we got home and it re-started afterwards so hopefully all is sorted.  Mr RAC man said that I am probably not doing enough miles in a week to keep my battery charged up .. .. I guess he could be right as I am the world's most cowardly driver and I only ever poddle around my local area.  Sometimes my car can stand all week not used.  During this bad weather I have ended up clearing windscreens, using my heater, my headlights, the music machine!!  Silly girly .. I should have realised!!

Anyway, enough rambling and on to my creation.

It is quite simple .. .. but I was desperate to put some ink on my brayer that I received at Christmas.  Hardly the world's greatest masterpiece involving a brayer but at least I have broken it out of its box and used it.  Nothing like what I am hoping to be able to create in the futue but quite a nice starting point I think.

This used:

Sentiment:  Penny Black "3849E" Birthday Dreams
Cricut Cartridge:  Home Accents (for the swirly bits)
Sizzix Die:  Tattered Florals
Big and Juicy Pad:  Vibrant Primary
Glossy Accents
Papers:  All from the scrap box (prepare to see scrap paper being used in abundance in the new year .. .. I "will" use some of those bits up!!!).
Brads and Sticky Backed Pearls from the Stash Box

You can just about see the multiple layers of glossy accents that I have added to the coloured petals of the flower.

So today (and probably tomorrow and Wednesday)  we are on "eat up" after all the cooking of lovely goodies.  Just a helping each of sherry trifle left to enjoy in a bit .. .. mmmm..... lovely!!  But first a quick peep around blogland to see what you have all been up to.

Have a great evening everyone.  See you again tomorrow.

BIG BABY BOY MADE IT FOR CHRISTMAS !!

Hi Everyone

I hope that you all had a brilliant Christmas Day  .. .. thank you for all the good wishes that were sent my way.

My big baby boy and his wife managed to make it for Christmas .. .. yay!!!

So I had a very special day with my lovely hubby, big baby boy and his wife and my little baby boy!!

Christmas Day was the calm before the storm that is about to hit today.  There are thirteen of us spending the day together today .. .. so I have been up since "daft o'clock" preparing food for us all.  (My favourite bit being the sherry trifle that is setting in the garage).  Can you believe the garage is colder than my fridge!!.

Originally some of the men were going to football but it looks like that might be called off due to lack of electricity!!  But the best laid plans of a buffet lunch and evening meal still have to stand as I cannot cook the roasts quick enough for us to eat dinner at dinner time.

Right back to preparation duties .. .. just wanted to check in to thank everyone for thinking of me .. .. especially those of you that took the trouble to send Christmas wishes on Christmas Day .. .. those were very special .. .. thank you!

So how many of you have been stashing away little bits off the Christmas parcels and crackers to re-use at a later stage LOL!!!  (I did .. tee hee .. .. much to the slight annoyance of fellow gift unwrappers LOL!!).

Santa did bring me one piece of crafty goodiness .. .. .. a brayer!!!  So a big learning curve for me in learning how to use it .. .. I had a disastrous attempt at using one earlier this year but I am determined to not let it beat me.  Watch this space for a brayered creation .. .. probably around July of next year LOL!!

Have a wonderful Boxing Day everyone.

I hope everyone has a happy, happy day.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to pop by and wish anyone who happens to call at my blog a very Happy Christmas.

If you are a follower or a regular visitor .. . then thank you for the time you spend coming to visit my blog.  I appreciate all of your visits and words of encouragement.  Blogland is such a wonderful place and I have met so very many special folk .. .. some of whom I just know will remain friends for always.

If you have just happened to stumble across me then welcome .. .. and I hope you have  found something here you liked the look of.

No new share today .. .. .. my craft pod is closed for Christmas LOL!!! .. .. and the kitchen is now open for business .. .. but I would just like to share with you my very favouritist make of 2010.

I made this creation after a very special weekend away with my lovely hubby.  A weekend that holds lots of special memories for both of us.  If you would like to know what I used to make this creation or the story behind it then you can find the original post that featured it here.

I'll catch you all again soon and let you know whether Santa chose to leave me anything crafty to play with .. .. .. only one more bed!!!  Woo hoo!!!

OK then .. .. back to the kitchen for me .. .. poor Cinders LOL!!!.  All is going to plan in there .. .. just time for a quick cup of tea before I start again.

Have a good one everybody!!!

See you soon.

NEARLY MY FAVOURITE DAY!!

Hi Everyone

How goes it?

I am feeling really sorry today for all the people who are having to work on Christmas Eve.. .. I have been there and done that for many, many years and know what a struggle that is.  The torture of food shopping and trying to prepare everything at the last minute is just a nightmare .. .. though we experienced a bit of this today when we nipped to pick up the things we forgot last night!!!

(Note to self .. .. next year start your shopping list earlier and buy everything on the first shopping trip).  This morning it was horrendous compared to last night .. .. thank goodness we only wanted a few things so that we were able to queue and go through the "self service" bit.

Am I the only person who loves doing the self-service thingy?  I remember the first time I used one I was so excited and I asked the woman who was supervising whether "if I was quick enough  would I get offered a job?".  The supervisor laughed and replied that I could have a job anyway because no-body else wanted them!!!

I am sure I could work on a supermarket checkout .. .. though perhaps I wouldn't stay employed for very long as I would end up asking people what they are planning on doing with the things they have chosen or would be telling them not to buy something because it was rubbish when I had some LOL!!!

This has been my first Christmas whilst I have been full time self employed .. .. so I have been allowed to "nip out" when I want to in order to avoid crushes and rushes without having to grovel to a boss!!!  Luxury!!

I haven't given myself the luxury of stopping production yet though .. .. .. I am still working hard at creations ready for selling in the new year.  My brain is currently in "valentine card" gear!!  Right up my street!!

Anyway, here is my share for today:

This used:

Image:  Crafty Individuals "CI-207" Leaves and Flowers
Sentiment:  Elzybells
Backing Paper:  Funky Hand
Sizzix:  Tattered Florals Die
Martha Stewart Punches:  Traditional Scallop and Frond
Woodware Punch:  Small Daisy
Clear Embossing Powder
Distress Inks
Ribbon and Brads from the Stash Box
I have possibly been really naughty with this Crafty Individuals stamp because it came as one solid stamp for mounting on an acrylic block.  It is eally meant to be used as a background and originally looked like this:

I felt very bad in chopping it up.  But I now have lots of little individual stamps I can use them for clear embossing and using my distress inks with!!   I hope Santa doesn't think that was too naughty and decides not to come and visit me!!!

Edited to say:  Apparently the stamp set is meant for cutting up!!!!  Yay!!!  Santa will be visiting me after all!!!

So tomorrow is my favourite day of Christmas.  Christmas Eve.  The day I put on my pinny and do lots of baking and cooking and the house always smells beautiful .  You can't have Christmas Eve without the smell of homemade mincepies wafting about and the radio playing all the Christmas songs.

I hope that everyone is "on track" with what they want to do ahead of the "big day".

If you are travelling then please have a safe journey.  We are still not sure if big baby boy and his wife are travelling to us yet.  It is going to be a  last minute decision and they will travel Christmas Day morning if that feels like the right decision.  We just need to see what the weather does in the meantime.

Whatever they decide will be fine with me.  If they come it will be fantastic to see them.  If they don't it will be equally good to know that they are safe and I won't have to worry about them during their travels.  What are Mother's like?!?!?!?

I'll catch you again tomorrow.

Happy Christmas Eve, Eve!!!! LOL!!!

I FEEL LIKE MRS CHRISTMAS

Hi Everyone

Sorry, but I am a bit late tonight .. .. .. but what great strides we have made again today.

I spent the morning engrossed in DT work (which I am not allowed to share just yet) - whilst watching lots and lots and lots of snow fall down from the sky!!!  Yukky dah .. .. it had better disappear before the weekend!!

Mr Postie brought me a little parcel from my lovely boss lady "Anice" over at Funky Hand (thank you Anice xx).  It contained something very special and exciting for me to play with ahead of its launch in January .. .. .. something completely new that Funky Hand have never done before .. .. and this is only the first of lots of surprises.  Woo hoo!!!

Hubby and I then went on parcel delivery duty .. .. but that is never a quick job is it?  You think it will be but no!!  By the time you have caught up, had a cup of tea and a mincepie the time flies.  We still have a few to deliver but at least we have made a hole in what we need to do.

But joy of joys .. .. .. the food shopping is done (and without too much grief)!!!!

All we need now are the things we will have forgotten!!!  Which at this point is only lemonade until I look through my cooking books!!   LOL!!!

So I am afraid there is no make to share with you today .. .. my makes are for sharing later .. .. but I will just mention a couple of things from my post of yesterday.

Firstly ... ... where was the heart?!?!?!?!?

I promise it was there and you can find it here.

Secondly I was asked about the doodling around my image yesterday.  This was something that Barbara Gray from Claritystamp Ltd did on Create and Craft earlier this month.  I thought it looked quite neat and you can see it here.   Just click on the picture and it will enlarge for you to see it better.  I think that Barbara is one awesome artist .. .. sadly I cannot replicate her brayering or amazing stamping techniques but I can at least replicate her doodling

Barbara did the doodling by simply placing a ruler where she wanted the doodles to finish and then drew the squiggly line .. .. butting the squiggles up to the ruler every so often.  I think it looks really effective.

I hope that everyone's Christmas preparations are going to plan.  Not many "sleeps" left now!!!

LOVIN' FLOWERS

Hi Everyone

One day nearer .. .. .. and what a difference a day has made.  Big leaps forward the in the House of Hearts Christmas preparation stakes .. .. and a few crafty makes too.

Still freezing cold  but no snow .. .. though we have been threatened to be on the receiving end tonight/tomorrow!!! 10 - 15cms !!!  Eekkk!!!

I don't really want any snow otherwise my big baby boy and his wife won't be able to travel to us for Christmas :-(    - but I won't worry yet.  There are a few more days to go until decisions need to be made (though I hope they have thought to get themselves some food in anyway .. .. just in case!!).

Here is my favourite make of the day .. ..

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "1037K" Lovin' Flowers
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  My Mind's Eye
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
Home made card candy
Cord from the stash box

I have been banished to my craft room so that hubby can wrap my Christmas presents.  We were supposed to be being good this year so he had better have kept to his word .. .. ..  or else there will be trouble!!!!

Being banished to my craft room is certainly not as bad as when I was a little girl and I used to get banished to my bedroom for being naughty!!!!  Bet you can't believe I was ever naughty can you?  But I was .. apparently .. .. though of course I still say it was the others!!  LOL!!!

Can you believe that after the day we had making Christmas labels the other weekend I now need to make some more .. .. everyone has been pinching them and I have none left.  I can feel a batch of labels with origami trees and peel offs coming on.

Have a lovely evening everyone.  I hope your preparations are going well.

BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES !!

Hi Everyone

How cold?!?!?!

No snow but boy has it been cold today.  Ice everywhere and not above zero all day.

Still lots to do ahead of Christmas and I am nearly starting to wonder how I am going to fit it all in .. .. but of course Christmas happens whether you are ready or not .. .. and we always get by even though we are never ready LOL!!!

My lovely hubby went out and about today and got a few essentials and of course the much needed roll of sellotape.  Whilst he was out I managed a bit of crafting.  This is my favourite make of the day.

This used:

Image:  Crafthouse Press "K005" Cupcakes
Sentiment:  Woodware Clear Stamps "FRCL009" Must Have Retro Words
Backing Paper:  Funky Hand CD "Dreams Come True"
Woodware Punch:  Small Daisy
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
ProMarkers
Glamour Dust
Diamond Stickles

I had my first two mincepies of Christmas today when we called on my Mum.  Yummy .. .. not a calorie in sight of course .. .. the same as there wouldn't be any in birthday cupcakes!!  LOL!!

So that is me for tonight.  Time to go and put the sellotape to good use and finish wrapping my Christmas parcels!!

Have a good evening everyone and take care in the ice and snow.

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A BIT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!

Yippee .. .. the House of Hearts has a decorated Christmas tree .. .. but no crafty makes to share today :-(

It has taken far too long to move the furniture around in the front room and clean the disgusting skirting board that was behind the furniture we moved !!  Eekkk.  What would Kim and Aggie say????

We still have boxes of decorations everywhere that need putting out and about but at least the tree is up and is looking good.

There are also presents still to wrap but guess who has run out of sellotape?????  (No way am I wasting my double sided tape!!!).

Here are a few pictures of my tree .. it has been quite difficult to take a picture that looks as nice as my tree.  I lurve it and it isn't even a Tipsy Tree LOL!!!

The Christmas Tree

My Favourite Bauble

And of course no tree would be complete
without strings of hearts!!  LOL!!!

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.  I am looking forward to the final of The Apprentice this evening.  I think Stella should win!!

See you tomorrow .. .. with a make to share I hope!!  I have missed not making anything today and have all these ideas buzzing round in my head torturing me.. .. what am I like?

LAST APPEARANCE OF TIPSY TREE

Hi Everyone

Well hubby is having a lovely birthday .. .. .. with the exception of his football team losing today!!!

He has come back from the match frozen and a tad deflated .. .. but never mind we will soon cheer him up.

Baby boy and I are taking him out for a cheap and cheerful Indian meal.  Love this restaurant as we  are allowed to take our own drinks with us so it never costs the earth .. .. and the food is always scrummy!!!

My share today is a card I have made for my Mum for Christmas.  It "may" be the last Christmas card of 2010 .. .. .. but it is definitely the last use the lovely Tispy Tree is going to get for a little while.  I have really loved this stamp set and used it lots.  In fact you are probably sick of seeing it LOL!!!.

This used:

Image:  Woodware Clear Stamps "JGCL529" Tipsy Tree
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
Sentiment:  Computer Generated
Distress Ink:  Crushed Olive
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Diamond Stickles
Gem, Brad and Cord from the stash box

And there we are!!!

Right, time to get myself looking decent ready to hit the town.  No snow here .. .. just a sprinkling this morning first thing .. .. but it is still very cold.

The tree is still not up!!!   What are we like ???.. .. some people have had their's up for over two weeks already and mine is in it's box on the landing at the top of the stairs!!  Shame on me!!! Hopefully it will be up tomorrow as I can stay in all day and play "house"!!!  Yay!!!

I don't know about you but I have entered the "storm before the calm" period of Christmas LOL!!!.
Have a lovely evening everyone and if you have snow then stay safe in it.

HUBBY'S BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi there blog buddies

Crikey has it been cold today!!!

If the saying is true "that it is too cold to snow" then we won't be having any snow here for a while .. .. it has been bitter.

It is the eve of hubby's birthday and I have just finished his card.

Here it is for you to see  -  no way he will look at my blog and spoil his surprise as he is far too busy.  Friday night is the night he does our culinary delight of fish, chips, potato fritters and mushy peas .. .. yummy!!!

I love Friday nights .. .. .. .. although he does make a lot of mess in the kitchen!!!  But I will forgive him because his food tastes great (and I haven't had to cook LOL!!).

I have just thought .. .. this time next week it will be Christmas Eve .. .. .. the best day of Christmas!!!  Woo hoo!!!

Anyway, stop waffling woman and get showing this card LOL!!!

This used:

Image:  Magenta "96442" Buds and Flourishes (clear embossed)
Backing Paper:  Brown wrapping paper (no expense spared LOL!!)
Sentiment:  Computer generated using font "The King and Queen Font" (love this one)
Cuttlebug Die:  Heart (cannot find a name for it but they all nestle inside each other)
Clear Embossing Powder
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Paper crimper for adding texture to the gold card

Hopefully hubby will like it and be able to find the heart LOL!!!

The Christmas tree and all the decorations have made their way out of the roof space .. .. so we are one step nearer being spruced up for Christmas.  My lovely hubby was muttering something about "moving the furniture around" before we put the tree up .. .. so that should be interesting.  Not sure what he thinks will move where - but it will make for a good clean up.

Have a great evening everyone.

Stay warm and safe.

MUCH GIFTED

Hi Everyone

I hope your day has gone well.  We have had more snow .. .. but thankfully it didn't settle (though we are promised more at the weekend that probably will!!).

My day has been quite good in terms of finishing off shopping and gift wrapping .. .. .. but sadly no tree has come out of the roof yet ready for decorating!!!   Perhaps tomorrow?!?!?!

Here is my share for today .. .. this is for my youngest Son to give his Dad on Saturday.

Yes, hubby has a birthday exactly a week before Christmas!!!  I always feel sorry for folk who have a birthday so close to Christmas .. .. their birthday cards get lost amongst the Christmas cards!!  So in our house I never put any Christmas cards up until the birthday ones have been taken down.

Anyway, here it is

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "3212K" Much Gifted

I am entering this into the challenge over at "Oldie But a Goodie" where they would like to see a star on your creation.

There is also a call out for Guest DT members if you fancy applying.

OK then .. .. that is me for tonight.  I had better go and do a bit of work on "my" birthday card for my lovely hubby!!!  I wonder if I gave him the one I made him last year again he would remember LOL!!!!

I'll catch you all again tomorrow.

NO CHRISTMAS MAKE FROM ME

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all had a good day .. .. it has been very cold here in my neck of the woods today.  I thought I was a bit cool in the house until I walked to the post box a couple of times today .. .. it was VERY cold "out and about" but the house seemed warm and cosy when I returned.  LOL!!!

So here is my little share of today. It seems really strange to not be working with Christmas stash!!!

This used:

Image:  Magenta  "19746" Deco Vase
Backing Paper:  Cuddly Buddly

Sentiment Paper:  Kanban "Celebration Titles"
Martha Stewart Punches:  Valentine Lace and Frond

Woodware Punches:  Daisy and Flower
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
White Gel Pen
Ribbon, Pearls and Brad from the stash box

You may remember that I mentioned last night that I went into Dunelm Mill to see if there was another "Ella Blue" paper stack available to replace the one that I am getting down rather quickly .. .. .. but when I got there the shelves were stripped of all papers.  I was a little worried that they were perhaps going to be stopping doing craft goodies.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. but fear not .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. today a lovely lady from Dunelm Mill emailed me to say that they are not stopping the craft items.  Phew!!!!  Thank you Louise .. that was very kind of you to let me know.

So tomorrow the Christmas tree might make its way out of the roof space!!  Woo hoo!!!  I lurve my Christmas tree with its sparkly lights!!!!  Hopefully it isn't going to look like the "tipsy tree" image I have been overworking this Christmas.  LOL!!

Have a lovely evening everyone .. .. The Apprentice interviews are on tonight.  I think these are so funny.
