I'VE GONE A BIT PASTEL

Hi Everyone

I hope your weekend is going well.

I have been busy making Christmas cards (surprise, surprise) and I was having a quick look through what I had been doing to decide what kind I needed more of when I suddenly realised nearly everything had the colour red as the main focus.  Eeek ... .. that won't suit everyone so time to hit the pastels.

So here is my Christmas pastel creation:

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "1873H" Xmouse Ornament!
Backing Papers and Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Martha Stewart Punches:  "Star" and "Frond"
Josy Rose:  Gems
Glamour Dust
Star Dust Stickles
Ribbon and cord from the stash box

I think he looks quite sweet!!

I have been experimenting with my photography as my pictures have been coming out rubbish since the nights have been drawing in .. .. .. even getting decent ones in the day has been near impossible.

So I have constructed a work of art on my craft desk which involves the propping up of A3 white card and a daylight bulb in an angle poise lamp.  I think they look a bit better but if you knock the desk accidentally it all falls to pieces LOL!!.

My lovely hubby is going to try and contruct a little "photo booth" for me using an old cardboard box and my white card so that I can actually angle the booth towards the window and catch more daylight.  We shall see how it goes.  If it seems successful I will post a photo .. .. but I will let you be the judge once the construction is complete and I have tried some more shots.

OK then .. .. off to make a few more makes ahead of X-Factor!!

Oh I love Saturdays!!!

Just a quick reminder too that you still have a week left to take part in the monthly challenges for "Get Funky!" and "Penny Black at Allsorts".  On my sidebar you will see what the challenges are for this month .. .. just click on the label to be taken to the challenge blog and see the full rules etc.  Hope to see you there.

Love

  4. Hi Jules thats a really fabulous card and I agree it does make a change to use pastels and they do give gorgeous results. I think we all have problems with the light at the moment for our cards I know for sure I do. With love and hugs Shirleyxxxx

  5. This is gorgeous Jules, I'm mainly a pastels girl anyway.I find it hard to do brights!!!!

I use a daylight lamp clipped to my desk for working under in the evening and for taking photos. I have the light to the side of what I am photographing and use white card both behind and underneath.I don't know if that is any help.

  9. Hi Jules
A gorgeous card, just adore this image! Beautiful soft colours too.
On the photography side, I've seen a 'portable soft lighting studio' from Maplin for about £12.99, I may have to get one of these, will let you know if it works! :)
