COLOR THROWDOWN CHALLENGE #533

Hi Everyone

Happy Friday!!

So sorry it has been a while since I last posted .. .. what a busy time it has been.

My lovely Sis has been poorly sick which has meant she needed to steer well clear of  Mum .. .. we definitely didn't want any nasty bugs taking up residence with  her!   So as a result I have been trying to do some extra cover on the "TLC for Mum" front which has meant lots of juggling of the work list and late night crafting to keep my head above water!  But I am "just about" back on track again now .. .. and my Sis is better!!  Yay!!!  What a massive difference that extra pair of hands makes!!

Anyway, at last I have a card to share .. .. one of my favourite cards to make .. .. probably because it gives me a lovely "sewing fix" whilst making it, and I also get to use up some of those pesky snippets:

This used:

Backing Papers:  Craft Sensations:  Mysterious Purple
Sentiment:  Computer generated using font "Candy Round"
Die Set:  Die-namics Blueprints 12
Pinking Shears
My Trusty Sewing Machine

I came across a "new challenge to me" a few weeks ago .. .. and like lots of challenges I earmark them and think .. .. I'll try and enter that.  But sadly time quite often doesn't allow it and they expire before I get to take part..

But I have managed it with this one and am entering my card into the Color Throwdown Challenge (which has clearly been in existence for ages as they are on number 533!!!

The generic colours for this week are Gray, Lavender, Purple and Kraft
but as you can tell my camera isn't a very big fan of purple
.. ..  it makes mine look more like royal blue!!

So that is me for today .. .. have a good day everyone and I will be back with this week's festive make tomorrow!

  6. A brilliant birthday card Jules, I may have to "borrow" the idea sometime if that's ok? A great use of snippets too and it could easily be made into a more masculine card with different colours xx

  8. A super card Jules, your stitching is perfect - every time I see one of your cards with stitching on it I think I must make the effort to get my machine out, I'm sure my stitching will not be that perfect though!

  10. Your card is stunning and love all the stitching, perfect straight lines, as expected!!!Lol!! A very clever idea for all the scraps we keep. Sounds like your sister had the virus I had, it seemed to go on forever. You think it's gone and then another symptom appears. Even now I still have the odd day when I feel rough again. So many of my friends have had it. Have a lovely weekend, Hugs, Carol S.xxx

  16. Hi Jules, a gorgeous card, Jules, well done you! Yes I’ve seen various blogs doing the colour throw down but haven’t ever joined, I’m bad at challenges except my few favs. I often look at folks who have a lot list after a post and wonder how they do it!??
I adore your stitching and well done on persevering in doing it all, you obviously have a really straight eye to stitch that well!
I don’t like sewing, I can sew and even draft a pattern which is helpful but I do it under sufferance not as a joy like crafting.

I’m glad your sister is well again.
I so know what you mean re extra pair of hands, when my darling dad was in nursing home and I was holding the fort on my own it was very hard.
He’s now with the Lord as of Aug last year, and I miss him terribly but I will meet him again. So that is a comfort. 😊 It’s his 90th birthday next week. We three girls are getting together on the day, which will be nice.
Lord bless youin that dear Jules. So many are going through it with their dear ones, they are so precious.
Love your card up above too and htnkas for popping over,
    Hugs Shaz in Oz.x
