Hi Everyone
I hope you have all had a good Saturday.
The weather for me has been just right for getting out into that garden .. .. a garden that is in need of much love, care and attention .. .. .. and boy do I know it has had its fair share of that today!! Some parts of me are aching now so I dread to think what I will be like in the morning LOL!!!
But now I have had my lovely long hot bath (removed all the splinters and bramble thorns from my hands with a needle) and have cobbled together a quick creation for sharing which depicts my day perfectly .. .. .. an abundance of both dandelions and ladybirds .. .. but no hedgehogs :-(
When I was little my Mum used to say that if you pick a dandelion you would wet the bed .. .. .. oh dear!! I have picked loads and loads of them today!!!!
So here is my share
This used:
Image: Penny Black "
Backing Papers and Sentiment: "Pink Petticoat"
Josy Rose: Nail Heads
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon from The Stash Box
I hope tomorrow is equally as lovely as I would like to get some more done in the garden .. .. in fact if I was locked outdoors for a whole year there would still be jobs to do out there!!
Buying a house with a big garden seemed like a good idea at the time !!
Catch you again tomorrow with hopefully a snippet or two ...
Love
I'm trying to sell a house with a big garden! (You're right it seemed a good idea at the time (25 years ago) but now I'm 25 years older I wondered why I did it!!!)
ReplyDeleteLovely card, cutie hedgie and glad your back has stood up to the labours of the day! x
Hi Jules, love this very pretty creation. Fab twinkles and love the ribbons. All those dandelions, hope it's not right about the bedwetting, your poor hubby. Lol! :o) Hope you have a lovely Sunday hun & you're not too achey.

This is so lovely Jules! I love the way you say it's 'cobbled together' when it'd take me hours to do, lol! I always feel great when I've been out to do the garden but mine's only as big as a hankie thank goodness! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's been a perfect day for being in the garden, hasn't it Jules. If you need some help, I'll be down. No garden could be big enough for me!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny saying about Dandelions. That's a new one on me!!
I had to laugh at your Mum and her Nintendo. Both our Mums have them too. In fact I'm the only one in our house who doesn't play computer games, too many other things to do!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
hugs Lisax
Oh Dear Jules, I do hope your bed doesn't get to wet tonight after all the dandelion picking. This is a fabulous creation and the image is super cute.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting

This is just gorgeous Jules, I remember that tale about dandelions too.We too have been tending our garden today,I just love all the new growth weeds as well.xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card as always Jules...and I really hope you don't wet the bed, lol!! xx Jenny xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card Jules, it does seem to represent your day very well. I've noted how you've attached the charm - not one I'd thought of but so clever. Hope you get your wish for another good day tomorrow :) Elizabeth x
ReplyDeleteHi Jules, what a sweet card! Your garden sounds like ours, in that it's big, but there the similarity probably ends! We've got lots of dandelions, and many other weeds, but we like to think of them as wildflowers! Our garden is a haven for wildlife. Well, that's our excuse, anyway! xx
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting into the garden today! Mine is in need of some tlc but it's still too wet here. Lovely card - these images are so sweet. Btw, going into teacher mode, did you know that the French for dandelion is "pissenlit", which means ... wet the bed! Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteawww how pretty and cute this is, so soft and elegant... yes a garden is lovely to have.. I've also always wanted a garden but now even the small back yard that I have seems too much he he Hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteI love all the little sparklies on this one! Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteGlad its fine weather there for you Jules, its wet and miserable here for 2 days, but enjoying it weirdly enough!
ReplyDeleteOMG I so remember my sisters and brother saying that to me as a kid, if you pick a dandelion you'll wet the bed! HAHaHAA But how I would love picking them and blowing their seeds around, it was very satifying seeing them fly away!
I LOVE that image, Have I mentioned how much I just love Ladybugs!? I used to go collecting them in the garden as a kid, ended up with a big glass jar full once, came in to show my mum, and fell over and yep, smash went the glass jar and away flew heaps of ladybugs in the house!!! MY MY MY I don't remember much of what happened there after, except finding bugs all over the house for days after, so I can only assume Mother wasn't impressed! LOL...
ahem, sorry I've written you a novella here, you totally just took me back in time, which is what I love about your posts and creations!
Oh what a sweet card, Jules! Such a happy hedgie! x
ReplyDeleteMorning Jules . . . LOVE this card and it's such a nice PB stamp to work with isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI was out all day yesterday and will be for much of the day today . . . so not much crafting going on. HAVE managed a bit of weeding in the garden already though . . . that's dedication isn't it?
Hugs, Sandra

ReplyDeleteAnother lovely card Jules - you brought back many memories for me too..... but I must tell you that a hedgehog has taken up residence in our garden (he's just come out of hibernation - so he must have been there last year and we missed him!!) we feel like 'proud parents' silly isn't it.

ReplyDeleteNo ive got the hedgehogs Jules!!! i have some in my garden as i have little hedgie cabins in the overgrown section in the back yard. They are so beautiful and so lovely to see them coming out of an evening to eat the food i put out for them religiously throughout the year. My Mum told me that about dandelions too!!! i believed her too!. Such a gorgeous card Jules. I really love the PB hedgies. Love how you have chosen your colouring for layering as you have in the image. Sorry you are so achey today hun, just goes to show all the hard work you have been doing. Hugs Clare xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jules! Such a cute image and love the glittered edges. We used to call them Dandelion Clocks! We too have been gardening those darn weeds grow overnight! No prickle thorns though. We had to pick the pears as the bugs were helping themselves to them! So hopefully they will ripen soon, take careX:)
ReplyDeleteLove the clean layout of this card and he is such an adorable little hedgie. Fabby card!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the gardening, hope the weather holds for you.
