JULES' CRAFTY SNIPPET CHALLENGE - WEEK 17

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all having a great Bank Holiday weekend.  Pinch and a punch first day of the month and white rabbits and anything else I am supposed to say on the start of a new month LOL!!!

I feel I have done quite well with my snippets this week considering we have been gardening too!!  I got up really early and made a good start .. .. whilst hubby was still in bed doing his farmyard impressions  .. ..  grrr!!! Once I am awake no way can I get back to sleep with all that snoring noise going on LOL!!  (It's not funny really).

The gardening jobs have gone well.  A good stint at the "big digging".  Two hanging baskets planted up, lawns cut and lots of cutting back of the bigger plants and bushes that are sprouting all over the place!!

I wish they would invent some gardening gloves I could actually work in.  My left hand is really sore now from nettle stings and hidden thorns!!  Funny it is my left hand when I am right handed!!

The seeds in the greenhouse have proven me wrong .. .. I thought the marigolds would raise their little heads first .. .. but no .. .. it is the runner beans!!  Must be the little tip my Dad used to do of soaking the beans in water for a few hours to soften them up before planting them (thanks Dad xxx).   Through in a week .. .. can't be bad!!

Anyway, round to my snippets for today.

I am really pleased with all of my little makes this week.

The second one was a take on a lovely creation I saw over on Ikki's Blog here.  Ikki had been using up some of her bits and pieces too.  I hope you go and visit as Ikki has a lovely blog.

The third one I am really pleased with.  I know it isn't anything new .. .. there are hundreds of these across blogland .. .. but it is the first time I have tried this technique and I am well chuffed.  I think a few more will be making an appearance.

There are hearts on all of my creations but some are a little trickier than others today.  Not intentionally .. .. it just ended up that way.

So who played along last week.  Well .. .. I am well chuffed .. .. I think I have a snippet world record as four people attacked their snippets during this week.

First up was Coops who created a gorgeous card with the most luscious rose you could imagine.  Very striking and inspirational.  Thank you Coops for sharing your lovely make with us.  Coops has a brilliant blog so make sure you look at her other posts too.  She colours her images so beautifully.

Next was Mags.  I have just realised that Mags used exactly the same stamp as I used yesterday .. .. .. great minds think alike!!!  Mags has used her snippets beautifully and with such a gorgeous butterfly.  Mmmm... mustn't look at that too long or I might start to think I need to be able to make those!!  Thank you Mags for the inspiration and sharing your lovely card.

Mags was followed by Sandra .. .. who is becoming a lovely little regular here.  She too is on a mission to reduce her bits and pieces and is being super good in using up her magazine papers.  Mmm... must think about those too at some stage.  Beautiful colours and shapes on Sandra's make and a central background band that keeps going through my brain.  Perhaps I could stitch some of my snippets together to make a similar band.  We shall see!!  Thank you Sandra for playing along again.

Then and "sort of last" .. .. but by no means least this week was Liz.  Liz has a fairly new blog and has just realised exactly how long can be spent roaming around blogland being led from one lovely blog, to another, to another and then even another!!!!  Liz has created a gorgeous card using her snippets.  Really love the flower .. .. great touch!!

So I said Liz was "sort of last".  Well it would appear that the week before last another lovely lady took part but missed being mentioned.  Sorry about that Amanda ... I didn't find your creation until after I had posted.  But I feel you really should get a mention and a link because your card was so gorgeous.  You can find Amanda's lovely card here .. .. ..it is so sweet and I think I might have to have that image at some stage!!

So quite a mega post from me this week with having so many playmates to keep me company.  I hope you get chance to visit all the blogs and see what else they have been creating.  It is always nice to find new blogs .. .. especially when they belong to such lovely talented folk.

I haven't listed everything I have used for making my creations as it would take far too long  but if anyone has any questions then just shout up.

I hope you enjoy your Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow and if anyone creates something using their snippets then feel free to link it up to Mr Linky below.  We all have snippets to use up and any inspiration is gratefully received.

Have a lovely evening.

Love

  13. Happy May Day, Jules. I've just caught up with all your news, the mushroom stroganoff sounded delish. I'm the only one in our house who eats mushrooms so if you could send me a small bowlful of your delights next time you send me some part of your garden for tending, that'd be lovely!!
The Wedding was just perfect wasn't it. I have to confess I shed a tear!!
Love all your cards, your snippets are fantastic. I found the heart on the birthday wishes card, but only just, very crafty. It's on the black triangle!!
Did you have the wind today. It was stronger here than yesterday and much more chilly. They say tomorrow will be even cooler but we're going to brave it with a walk anyway.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday Monday.
    Hugs Lisax

  21. All these card are gorgeous but the 2nd one is my favorite. I love the suntle colors and the card has a seren look that makes me sigh :)

I know exactly what you mean with a husband and his farmyard impressions. Not funny at all; really. Sometimes he sounds like the engine of an airplane; argh! Writing this down makes me smile but when it wakes you up in the early morning hours it's not funny at all..
