JULES' CRAFTY SNIPPET CHALLENGE - WEEK 27

Hi Everyone

Grrrrr...  what is with all of this error 503????  Is it just me with the errors or is everyone having a nightmare time trying to post and leave comments?

I have a feeling this post is going to take a lot of hard work and patience and a very long time!!!!

Another week has flown by and I am here again with my snippet makes for this week.

For my new followers and anyone visiting for the first time I will just explain what it is I get up to on a Sunday.

On Sunday I limit what I am allowed to use to make my creations.  I do not allow myself to cut into any new sheets of paper or card or to take ribbon from a reel.  I can only use what I call my snippets!!!  Some of my snippets are quite large (particularly if they began life in my craft pod as a 12 x 12 sheet) but then lots of them are teeny tiny and I often wonder why I even keep them!!!  But I have to .. .. I cannot bring myself to throw them away.

I do not colour images in .. .. but try to paper-piece in order to use up more of those little snippets (although today one card did get a little touching up with some chalk and distress ink).

So now you know what I am up to .. .. here are the creations I have come up with today (including what I am now going to class as my "compulsory" Christmas card).  Every week from now until Christmas I have to slip in a Christmas snippet make .. .. eekkk!!!!

OK so here are this week's offerings

Lots of people played along with me again this week.  Some regular participants (it is lovely to keep seeing you here xx) and some are bright and breezy new playmates (it is great to see you too xx).

First to play last week was Lynne .. .. and she was so eagre to take part that she posted pretty much as soon as I did!!  Yay!!!  Three gorgeous creations from Lynne on a baby theme.  I love them all but especially the last two that have a lovely ribbon feature on them.

Next out to play was Sally with her "grown up shoes"!!!  Oh to still be able to walk in shoes like these!!  I'm afraid I am a flip flop and slipper person now and trying to cram my feet into grown up shoes is like torture treatment!!  How boring is that?!?!?  Loving your shoes Sally.

Then along came Rachel with the most gorgeous Christmas card.  I love it!!!  A great way to use up lots of snippets and a lovely ribbon feature too.  Beautiful colour combo as well!! Thanks Rachel for the inspiration.

My next playmate was Kaz who played along twice this week .. firstly with a beautiful Christmas card in the most gorgeous shade of blue which you can see here and then again yesterday with the most stunning thank you cards.  Super inspirational work Kaz!!  I am well impressed and so going to try this!!  For some reason though I have been unable to leave a comment for you to say exactly how much I love these .. .. but I will keep trying I promise!!!  I just see a big red cross where I should be commenting .. .. eeekkk!!!

Next was a new playmate Mandy.  Mandy soon got the bug and played along twice this week too.  Firstly with a card that used the most lovely snippets and one of my favourite MS punches.  You can find it here.  Can't think why I like this punch so much LOL!!!  Then Mandy's second creation, which you will find here, made me long for a lovely beach holiday (where I would be at home wearing my flip flops LOL!!).  Such a bright and beautiful make.

One of my regular snippet buddies is next ... Sandra.  Sandra has been a very lucky girlie and has gained some lovely stamps from her Sister .. .. and has been putting them to great use alongside her snippets.  This one is gorgeous.  You might want to actually look at Sandra's whole blog because she also made some gorgeous roses with her snippets .. .. they weren't linked to last weeks post but they are amazing!!!  Well done Sandra .. .. I have made a couple but they are not as good as yours that's for sure!!!

Next was another new playmate .. .. Samantha.  A super cute creation from Samantha that used up some of her snippets beautifully.  A gorgeous cute image and I love the faux stitching .. .. but then I am a bit of an addict where this is concerned!!  LOL!!!  Thanks for playing along Samantha.

Claire came to the party too with a fantastic New Job card.  It is so beautifully personalised and I love the sentiment very much.  Quite a rare occurrence at the moment don't you think .. .. getting a new job?!!! (but we won't go there).  Thank you for joining in Claire and for the great inspiration.

My snippet mate Lisa was next to play.  Lisa is the proud owner of a new shiny red laptop this week after her old one giving up completely.  (Happy new laptop Lisa).  So whilst without a computer Lisa made a beautiful array of snippet makes.  Of course my favourite has to be the second one because it was made using papers from the most gorgeous paper stack I have ever owned.  Beautiful makes Lisa!!

Jenny played along next with one of the most original snippet creations yet to make an appearance in my whole 27 weeks of snippet makes.  I love this make very much .. .. especially the ingenius use of vellum!!!  Thank you for sharing it with us all Jenny.

Then last but not least .. .. Brenda.  I have a feeling that Brenda is a little hyperactive as she has posted a brilliant action photograph of herself and then replicated it in card form.  But I think the card character is having a much easier time of it LOL!!!

I do hope you have time to visit all of these lovely playmates who have taken time to share their snippets .. .. I am so lucky to be meeting so many lovely blogs and their owners.

Right then I am hoping that this now posts.  I am getting lots of error messages and problems enroute .. .. what a labour of love this has been!!!!

Right I am about to hit "publish" with my fingers crossed!!!!

Have a lovely rest of the evening and a great week.

Love

  11. Hi Jules,am I so glad I am not alone in my computer troubles, I agree the posting is terrible of late and it takes ages for any pictures to upload. I wonder what they are doing in blogland HQ.
I love all your cards this week, especially the first one and the baby card. I am going to try something later on, not telling what (?????) but I'll post it up when done.
I will definately have a look at all the ladies who take part in the snippet challenge, everyone is such an inspiration, amazing what we can all do with left overs.
You know my leftovers from snippets are miniscule and even they are not thrown out now as a friend of mine makes soap and the boxes for the soaps are made from handmade paper, so I give her all my tiny scraps now so nothing is wasted now.

  16. Hyperactive!!? Me?? Lol, you should see me first thing in the morning! This morning's exercise consisted of a 23 mile bike ride, but I didn't replicate that in card form, instead I've made a Christmas Card again, but I'm so blown out (it's 92 deg again) that I don't know if I'll post if tonight, probably tomorrow. Hyperactive indeed, I'm still laughing about that!

  38. Isn't it amazing what can be done when you challenge yourself to use our scraps and snippets! I am in the middle of a move and home improvement projects, so I don't have a lot of time to craft right now, but pretty much that is all I can find is my scrap bag to include my ribbon scraps, so this is actually great because I am hoping to get the pile down for when I get my crafting space set up. I am glad I found your blog because it will challenge me even more. I love paper piecing, so I have a lot. I added an entry, and happy to be your newest follower!
