Hi Everyone
Well as promised I am a little earlier today.
I don't know about where you live but the air is much fresher here today after us having lots of rain .. .. no need for me to water the outdoor crops today!!! I bet Mr Froggie has loved it.
So a quick share from me tonight as I have lots to do still. I do think the saying is true .. .. "a woman's work is never done" LOL!!!
Here is my make:
This used:
Image: Hero Arts "CG137" Thanks Flowers
Sentiment: Woodware Clear Stamps "FRCL128" Circular Greetings
Backing Papers: Aimee Asher
Go Kreate Die: No 151005
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Distressed Stripes
Distress Inks: Crushed Olive, Wild Honey, Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Dusty Concorde, Tea Dye
Josy Rose: Nail Heads
Glossy Accents
Sequin Waste
Ribbon and eyelets from the Stash Box
I bet you can't believe I used all those distress inks can you? I decided to have a try at painting with them as well as distressing .. .. and I also used some sequin waste and a stipple brush to get the dots at the bottom of my image.
Not bad .. .. but I am sure I will come up with more ways of doing this technique .. .. but first I need a bigger bit of sequin waste. I only have a small little bit that came free with an order from somewhere. I was probably only supposed to be interested in all the sequins that fell out of the holes but I loved all of it!!!
I got this idea when visiting my lovely blog buddy Cynthia who does some lovely techniques so please take time to pay her a quick visit. She does lovely journal pages as well as cards and is very experimental with what she does .. and very inspirational too. So don't just look at the post I have linked .. there are other gorgeous projects too. Thanks Cynthia xx. (Cynthia also does some lovely snippet makes ... but I think she is a little shy about coming into the playground and sharing them).
So that is me for today.
I am hoping I am here with something to share tomorrow but we shall have to see. Mr Electric man is coming to put our new sockets in so it could be chaos and no crafting in The House of Hearts!!! (but I hope not!!).
Have a lovely evening everyone.
Love

Hi Jules,
ReplyDeleteI really like how you've used the sequin waste and I know there's a huge roll of it in the Art stock room at school - pity it's all locked up, lol!! I like the shading around the image too. Will have to invest in some distress inks I think. Oh dear, the wish list gets longer and longer by the day! xx
Love this one Jules. Lovely subtle papers to compliment the brighter image. Great idea with the sequin waste.

Ooh! a very lovely make Jules, fab techniques hun. Love the sequin waste effect. I agree about womans work never being done too but I think it's more that if we're sat doing nothing we think what we could or should be doing, funny how men are'nt the same eh?
