Hi Everyone
Happy, happy Friday .. .. the weekend is in touching distance!
Nice and early today with my final snippet make for this week. My mission is complete .. I managed the three I promised on Sunday!
Good news in itself .. .. but even better news is that Di has managed to reach (and surpass) her elusive 60 entries!! Well done Di!! In fact, as I write, this entry will go into Pixie's Snippet Playground at number 70 and there is still time to enter if you get chance!
It has certainly been a very busy playground this week and I do hope some of the new playmates have had fun and decide to come and play again. (I think Miss Di needs lots of folk for the "crowd scene" in the Christmas Play LOL!!).
So here is my last snippet share for Challenge 100:
This used:
Image: Penny Black "4268K" Crystal Drops
WOW! Embossing Powder: Opaque White
Glamour Dust
X-Cut Punch: Small Snowflake
Josy Rose: Gems
My Trusty Sewing Machine
Twine, ribbons and thread from my stash box
As will all things blog related this is much more sparkly in real life!!!
I was hoping to have posted this creation late last night but when a bride called by in the evening to pick up her invitations we sat chatting and talking about what she still needs to do ahead of her wedding when she said "Do spiders bother you .. .. because you have a very big one over there" and she nodded towards the corner of my dining room.
I turned around and what a shock. There was, what I can only describe as the biggest spider I have ever seen just hanging high up the wall. Big and black!!! We both looked at it, looked at each other with our mouths open, looked back at the spider and at that very split second it dropped itself .. .. but to where I don't know!! Eeeekk!!!
I don't mind spiders but he was rather large and I wouldn't like to think of it crawling on me.
We don't kill spiders .. .. we catch them in a bug catcher thing my hubby bought a couple of years ago .. .. but the span of its legs was so large I am hoping it will fit inside .. .. otherwise it will be back to the old glass and paper technique (oh .. another use for snippets).
I told hubby about the spider later and he said "I know".
"What do you mean? You know?" I asked .. .. and it transpires that this little critter has been living in our midst for quite a while now and hubby has sometimes seen it run across the carpet .. .. but so fast he hasn't been able to catch it.
So last night I started on the spider hunt as I couldn't stop thinking about it. I hope it can't climb stairs!! LOL!!
Anyway time to get cracking on my day.
Have a great Friday everyone and a lovely weekend. Hope you find some craft time.
Love
Well I LOVE your third snippets entry Jules . . . but I'm NOT coming round to play until you have that spider sorted!

gorgeous card - I would have been hysterical! neither of us like them and we have 2 different types of spider catcher x
ReplyDeleteHi Jules, I'm laughing at your spider story, it's my hubby who is terrified of them, this is a man who sleeps in bothies too. When they are that big I always give it a name, and when Alistair says he's seen a spider my reply is that it's only Jimmy.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your card, kraft card works so well and it looks as if the image has been chalked onto it. Fab card!!, hugs Kate x
Good morning sweetie this is stunning, love your colour choices too, hugs Pops x x x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Jules and I think I just pipped you to the post on the number 70 slot lol. Aww spiders don't like them either but like you I can't kill them. When I was a lot younger my cousin decided to show me how to catch and release them, well she carried it in the glass to the window and she went to throw it out when it climbed out of the glass and up her arm, she screamed hit it off and promptly stomped on it, I couldn't stop laughing. Hugs, Amanda x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card Jules, the black accents really bring out the beautiful image. Sounds like the spider has really made itself at home!! xx
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning Jules. I love the white embossed tree and gorgeous papers.
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage to capture the spider!
hugs Sue xx
Oh well done Jules, I know you're a busy lady so it's really kind of you to play three times this week.
ReplyDeleteOf course your card is fabulous, as usual.Great embossing and such a super design.
You nearly had me with the sneaky heart though :)
As one Playground wag once said, if a spider is big enough to put a saddle on that's when you start to worry!
Hugs, and thank you so much again for not only playing but also encouraging the amazing number of entries this week!!

Very pretty sparkly card. Watch out for that spider!! Have a good weekend i am hoping to do some crafting this weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteEeeekkkk!!! I don't mind spiders but when they are big then it's a no no! I've see a great black hairy legged spider once when I was little (this was back in Taiwan) and my brave mum didn't scream or yell. She simply pulled her slipper off and throw it on the wall and that was it! Spider fell and dead! It looks like a scene from the movie. No fuss, clean, hard kill! Ha ha ha!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your card Jules! Especially the tag on that lovely two string/ ribbon bow. Have a great day!
A gorgeous card! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat card and well done!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I wasn't there Jules, I HATE spiders, *shiver*. Love your gorgeous Christmas tree. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteI am extreemly impressed with this card, I have seen this stamp and iffed and butted but this is the best showing of it and I may have to invest. Just love this card.

Oops forgot to mention Incy Wincy Spider, my youngest Grandson, a real tough cookie, 5 next week is terrified of spiders and I have no idea how where he got the idea from that spiders do not like conkers, so he demanded to go out collecting conkers and has them all lined up round his bedroom skirting boards.
ReplyDeleteYou may need to think about that one lol.

Wow! What a cracker of a card Jules. Love it!
ReplyDeleteMiss is up to 78!!
What part do you want in the Playground Play? Bagsy not the fairy - tree sap is murder to get off your pants!!!
I wish my white embossing powder gave these results. Need a new one but I would hate to think how many I have tried and failed!
Hugs

Oh no! I am afraid of spiders and I
ReplyDeletethink we have that same catcher thingy you have,. DD bought them for stocking gifts one year as her sister used to call DH to drive over when she found a spider at her house!!!
Your card is wonderful...loving the kraft and white with the pinch of black. It looks fabulous!
First of all Jules, this is a lovely card - the white images against the kraft card is gorgeous. There must be an influx of massive spiders at the moment: i too, saw an enormous one in the lounge a few weeks ago, which also disappeared and last weekend, I saw my biggest one ever in the garage..eeek!!!!
