I hope you have all had a good weekend!
Sorry for the "no show" yesterday .. .. .. the day was eaten up on wedding work and preparation for Mr Heart's impending "week off".
Sadly the weather forecast hasn't been looking very promising so we had a little brainwave that if we bought a cheap and cheerful gazebo then he could work under that and neither he nor his cement would get wet if it was raining .. .. .. and if the sun shines then he will be in the shade. We managed to find one at Aldi which will hopefully do the job.
So the saga continued today and if you could see us trying to put up the gazebo .. .. well Laurel and Hardy sprang to mind .. .. and we just hoped that the neighbours were otherwise occupied and not interested in what we were doing. We have laughed so much .. .. the type of day that leaves behind happy memories of a day well spent.
I had only been called to lend a hand with the gazebo, but after being drawn into the project I ended up after two hours deciding I perhaps should change out of my PJs and slippers, and put on something more appropriate to the task in hand. Great headway was made .. .. but time just disappeared .. .. hence breakfast at 4.00pm and very late snippets today.
But here we go:
As always I am lazy on a Sunday and don't list my ingredients .. .. usually because my snippets are from so many difference sources .. .. but funnily enough today all the snippets have come from the same paper collection (as you can probably tell).

OK .. .. time to link up to my makes to Pixies's Snippet Playground and get dinner sorted before we sit down and fall asleep!!
I will hopefully catch you tomorrow .. .. depending on whether the gazebo survives the night or whether we have to collect parts from around the garden and re-construct in the morning!! LOL!!
Enjoy what is left of the evening.

Hilarious Jules, I thought you were going to say that the gazebo had blown away!! We've had really strong gusts here today, although sunny!! Great cards and do I spy a new Memory Box die? I was sorely tempted last week but sadly the horse had to be shod so it was new shoes for her instead of new dies for me!! Hope you and Mr Heart have a productive week xx
ReplyDeleteBreakfast at 4pm!! lol - I love days like that!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards, I love the pretty papers and hearts on the first and gorgeous baubles on the second.

That was a very amusing read Jules. Made me smile. Love both cards but need to ask are the baubles on the second one die cut or stamped. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteI love the pretty paper piecing on these gorgeous cards, and I hope the gazebo is still there in the morning! xxx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Jules,
ReplyDeleteWell you started my day with a little giggle ... thank you!!
Hope all is well with the Gazebo.
Your cards are fantastic as always, just love them both, very elegant.
Have a good day

Two more beautiful cards. Love the vibrant pink on the first card. The stack of hearts is so precious for an Anniversary card.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas card is lovely. I love Joyeous Noel...French is our second language and my eldest has gone abroad each year for several years to study French (in Nice and in Monaco).
Must remember to make the inside of the card I have made her, a Joyeous Noel too. Thanks for that reminder, Jules!
Two great cards and I hope the gazebo survives the night. When we built ours at the lake, my job was to hold the side rail while DH attached the top supports. The ladder buckled and down he went crashing the support pole onto the raised brick wall...and then landed on that! The pole bent slightly! But it was attached later and has stood the test of time about 5 years now! lol
Gorgeous, beautiful cards

Two gorgeous cards Jules, sounds like you had fun with your gazebo - it doesn't sound like Mr Heart is going to have much of a 'week off' laying cement!

ReplyDeleteThank you Jules for giving me a laugh, oh I can just picture you in you pjs and slippers helping with the gazebo, I am enjoying having a pj day. We have been away for 4 days and hadn't stopped in those days so I am getting the washing etc done and having a jammie day.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are gorgeous love them both. Hope the gazebo is still standing. Hazel xx
Breakfast at 4pm????? How VERY decadent! Hope it was worth the wait!!!! My tummy would be rumbling by then for sure!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS cards, as always Jules.
Hugs, Sarn xxx
Oh Jules, two fabulous cards! I did spot that they used the same pad - but both so different! And, I've been dithering over that lively MB die for a week or two now - that makes you a bad influence :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a giggle about the gazebo - but a good idea! We did the same when having some work done here and it saved mess in the house. Snigger, I also recall us assembling the flipping thing-and when it was time to take it down it just collapsed :) But, it sure did the job!
Hugs, Di xx
Hi Jules, your post dod make me laugh, sounds like fun anyway! Two lovely cards - fab papers and love the hearts, hugs Carole Z X

I love hearing about you and hubby's fun working time. That sure does make great memories when you can work together and laugh. I didn't know you all had Aldi stores too. Glad you were able to find the gazebo to work under! Hugs, Brenda
