Hi Everyone
Happy Saturday!
I hope your day is going well.
My sister has been with Mum today so I have been having a card making fix! I have been taking crafty things with me to sit and do whilst with Mum .. .. but it isn't the same as having all your supplies around you to dip in and out of .. .. so today I feel like a kid in a toy shop.
I have quite a few weddings falling around Christmas this year that are going to need quite a lot of work doing for them .. .. so I am trying to make a real effort to get lots of Christmas cards under my belt nice and early.
So apologies to folk who only like to see Christmas makes later in the year .. .. but needs must!
Today I am playing along with the Rudolph Days Challenge which runs from the 25th to the end of each month.
To take part you only need to enter one project .. .. but the sharp eyed among you will notice I have made two using different sentiments. These are based on a teeny tiny card I made last Christmas using this image. It was very popular with my customers and I made quite a few in the end .. .. so this year I am "up-sizing" and making a larger version.
Backing Papers: Docrafts Forever Friends "Kraft Notes"
ProMarkers
Distress Ink Pad: Antique Linen
Snowflake Punches
Glossy Accents
Glamour Dust
Ribbon, Gem and Pearls from my Crafty Stash Box
My Trusty Sewing Machine
and that is it. Another two Christmas cards for my box! Yay!!
Many thanks for all the good luck wishes regarding my Mum and the wheelchair sketch I shared with you on my previous post.
I was quite surprised how well she accepted me introducing a wheelchair into her home, it can't have been an easy thing for her. I was expecting her to say "you can take that back from wherever you got it" .. .. but she didn't. Yay!! Sadly though it was raining so we never got to have our first outing.
My sister is with her today and my brother tomorrow, and both are as keen as me to take her out into the fresh air, so hopefully it won't be long before she experiences the great outdoors once again and her world is once again more than the four walls she has been content with for far too long.
Enjoy your weekend everyone. I hope it includes a little bit of crafty time for you.
Two gorgeous cards. You've reminded me I have this image in my files somewhere, totally forgotten! It makes such a wonderful Christmas card. Pleased to hear you've had time for a play today. Have a good rest of weekend x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card!
ReplyDeleteTwo pretty cards Jules, a lovely image.
ReplyDeleteYou can guarantee that the weather will ruin the best made plans, I hope your brother or sister manage to get your mum out over the weekend.

These are lovely Jules. The silvery ribbon adds a very festive touch together with the fab blingy snowflake xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jules, gorgeous cards I love this image and I love the colours and those teeny pearls :)
ReplyDeleteMy dear Mum was the same about the wheelchair, she used to get very stressed about going out in it because of people 'looking at her' We tried to get her to use a mobility scooter in the end and that gathered dust bless her
Anyway I'm waffling !
Hugs Kaz xxx
Seem so strange saying this is so pretty for a Christmas card but the colours give such a pretty effect, super image too. No Christmas papers and it still looks so festive. Love it.

Two beautiful cards Jules and love the colours and the image. Have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDelete2 beautiful Christmas cards, and less work in December ! I make 1 Christmas card every week, for a Dutch group, called "52weekstochristmas" (no obligation), so at the end of the year, I might have about 50 cards ready (or more). I'm so glad, that your mother is better and accepted the wheelchair, she's so brave, and getting outside will do her good. I wish her all the best and wish you a lovely Sunday. Enny
ReplyDeleteWell done for making a double helping for the Christmas card collection and this is a lovely image, beautifully coloured. The weather is still a bit on the wintry side so it isn't like seeing Christmas on a warm sunny day - roll on summer!!
ReplyDeletetwo beautiful cards, Jules! I love the elegant colours!
ReplyDeleteHi Jules,
ReplyDeleteHappy Rudolf Days.
So sorry to hear about your Mum it's so good to have siblings that can help.
I do hope all goes well with the weather and she can get out a little.
I remember my Mum hating having to go into a wheelchair if we went anywhere.
She always thought it was for people who couldn't walk at all, but she had great difficulties in moving around even though she could walk a little.
So if we went anywhere we would use the wheelchair that was provided whereever we took her otherwise she wouldn't be able to come with us, and as you say 4 walls isn't good for them.
I love your wonderful cards and as usual they are excellently created.
The images and sentiments are so fab too.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge as you are so busy at the moment.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT
This is gorgeous Jules, love the image and the pretty colours and embellishments. What a pity it was raining, but better weather must come soon and you can try again, have a lovely day, Kate x
ReplyDeleteA lovely image & all the more so with these soft colours! I've yet to do any Rudolph Day creations:-(
ReplyDeleteSally xx
Christmas cards all year is the only way I have enough to send at Christmas Jule so no problems for me. I love these two beautiful cards and the colours you've used too.
ReplyDeleteSue xx
I'm sorry it has been so long since I've visited Jules, hanging my head in shame. I seem to be on a different path right now and of course spring is here and that means mowing and weeding as well. Always something. Sad to say I didn't do the challenge either, but sure do love the two cards you have made. What a great stamp and I love the coloring. I also love that this card doesn't have the traditional Christmas colors. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteOooo what a gorgeous image and a delightful layout too, with my DT hat on, thanks for joining us at April's Rudolph Days Challenge, Luv Sam x
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and your family at this time, x
This is a pretty card, Jukes. The image is sweet and I love the sentiments, especially the last one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in the April Rudolph days Challenge. Sorry that I am so long in getting round to visit but I am limiting my work with my hands till the swelling is gone. It still is there, but it is much, much better.
