Hi Everyone
I hope you have all had a Happy Friday!!! Gosh wasn't that a quick week!! I am sure they lasted much much longer than this in the past. They definitely did when I "went out to work" !!!
Today's card was made early doors for the Moving Along With The Times Challenge where the theme is "Black and White Only".
My offering is plain and simple (a bit like me really) .. .. but I love it! Made early, but no chance to photograph and post until now.

Not everyone's favourite colour combo .. .. in fact I have some customers who never want "any" black on their cards .. .. but personally I love it!! For me a touch of black makes a card "pop".
So here we go

Before I go I would like to say thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post. It was interesting to read your opinions on the two types of distress inks .. .. and how some of you favour the old distress inks to the oxides. Just shows how people's creativity is influenced differently, and how we all feel comfortable using different things! After all if we aren't liking what we are creating with then we will never have a finished project we a feel good about will we? It is really disappointing though if we have invested our hard earned cash into something only to find we "just don't like it or get on with it".

I think for me one of the biggest disappointments comes when you buy a paper stack because you have seen papers in it that you really really love .. .. but to have those you have to accept that there are some pretty ugly ones in there too that you just know you are going to be stuck with (but can't throw away because that is wasteful). Perhaps I need to force myself to use them "somehow".
Anyway after that ramble I will love and leave you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone .. .. I hope you find some crafty time for yourself at some stage.
I love this gorgeous monochromatic card Jules.

I do love black and white and this is a striking card - I can see why you love this stamp so much (might be tempted although I ought not to!!). My paper collection is testament to your comments about paper pads but then again I suppose one person's 'ugly' is another person's 'lovely' - wouldn't do for us all to like the same thing would it?? Have a good weekend and there will be another one very quickly. Time flies and all that!
ReplyDeleteWow, your card is beautiful Jules, and so elegant ! Love the stamp !!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, sometimes we're stuck with stuff we don't like, but perhaps you could exchange the stuff (paper) with a hobby-friend who does like it ? She might have something, you do like. After all, we all have different tastes... Have a lovely weekend ! Enny
There is something about black and white that is so elegant and grown up and the fact that your card is tall makes it all the more so!! The narrow stripes and doodles look great together. I know what you mean about the "ugly" papers in a pad...why do they do that!!? xx
ReplyDeleteWell I think it's fabulous and there's nothing wrong with a bit of black in my eyes!

Stunning card Jules, I love mono shades and the black and white is so striking. Lovely floral images, Kate x
ReplyDeleteYour card is very eye catching and certainly does pop. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful card Jules. This is one of my NBUS items, I'm terrible at impulse buying! I agree with you about the papers. It's very disappointing to find only a few that you really like in a pad. Have a good weekend x
ReplyDeleteI love black and white cards and this one is no exception, Love the image and your lovely papers. I also like B and W with one other colour cards.

I love this stamp Jules and use it quite a lot for Sympathy cards with navy blue ink. The papers are a lovely section and perfect for this image.
ReplyDeleteWith papers I don't like and will never use, I bag them up and take them to the nursing home I fund raise for (selling my stuff!) as they have a craft room at the home. There is no way I could throw it out!! Big hugs, Carol S.xxx
A very striking card, great image, thanks for joining us at MAWTT. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteLove this card.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous black + white card Jules and a wonderful stamp.
ReplyDeleteAs for papers, I did have a big sort out a while back and made quite a few small boxes with the 6inch ones as they do look totally different when folded (great for tiny gifts)... and the single sided sheets that I knew I would never use were used for scrap to pen/stamp ideas for designs on xx
I can't imagine anyone not loving black on a card! I love black-really all colors but black is classic and elegant to me so I really love it. So there for I'm in love with this black and white card Jules! It's stunning and elegant. Great use of pattern papers as well-they certainly give interest to this card and I'm so loving that image. Yes, it is hard to spend our hard earned money on things if we aren't going to love them. Paper is hard as you said, sometimes it is just a few pieces that you love. lol I have paper in my stash that has been there for years and one day I will use them. One day.....Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI have had this stamp for years and have used it in all sorts of colours, including variegated, but never thought to doit in black and white. It looks fabulous, so I will definitely trying this. Thanks for sharing with us at MAWTT. Christine DT
