Hi Everyone
I am not going to comment on the state of the world .. .. we are all hearing all the sad and bad news that is pouring out of radios and televisions. I really feel like I am going to wake up soon and it will all be a really, really, really bad nightmare. If only!!!
One of the tasks we are slowly attacking whilst confined to barracks is to sort out the roof space. The weather is just right for it .. ..in winter it is far too cold up there and in summer it is far too hot .. .. so now is just the right time.
Far too much up there that needs sorting. Of course anything that is mine "should" be up there but I am sure everything else is rubbish LOL!!
There is a small section of the roofspace that has boxes full of fabric from my sewing days (which may come back one day so I won't part with anything out of those boxes) .. .. .. and one of those boxes had lots of organza scraps in. So I took that box into my craft space to play with and made the flower for the card below by cutting circles and re-shaping them with the heat from a candle.

and that is me for today.
Enjoy your weekend .. .. .. doing whatever we are allowed to do once it gets here .. .. .. but most of all stay safe.
What a wonderful find in your attic. The organza flower looks so vibrant against the embossed background a beautiful card
ReplyDeleteA lovely card and a flower making technique which I'd temporarily forgotten until I saw this - so much 'stuff' in the house to play with but somehow the inclination has to be searched for. Enjoy your treasure hunt in the loft space.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely card, that flower is so beautiful ! Yes, our roof space is full of "stuff", I already cleared a bit, but now the sunshine is coming, so I'll enjoy this weekend in the garden ! Have a nice and safe weekend yourself! Love, Enny
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, great use of your fabric stash. Have fun with your tidying.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card made from a box of scraps Jules. My fabric stash is in a wardrobe in the spare bedroom, under the spare double bed in draws and a couple of other places too. Hubby keeps asking when I'm going to use it all. I normally manage to fob him off.
ReplyDeleteTake care

A beautiful card Jules, such a pretty organza flower - what a good idea.

I get the scenario.....find box..open box....remember this? proudly reminiscing.....might come in...lets keep in case...box goes back...repeat...and in some cases lets try and see what can we do with this?...oh yes must keep that...sorting stopped while we play. Joking apart Jules...(as we are slowly doing the same) your card is truly lovely..a pretty flower..a stunning card. NOW back to the roof space! ..lol xx
ReplyDeleteI had no idea organza behaved that way...what a gorgeous bloom Jules, I can see poinsettia type ones for Christmas!! A really lovely card. We had "fun" tidying the work bench in the garage yesterday and the task for today is trying to straighten my rotary washing line that has a noticeable lean!! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Jules, so classy and the organza flower is beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I make flowers this way too, Used to make them up into hairbands for my grandaughter. Now I make them for a clothing project box that is send to the Inuit that live in our Artic region, Nunuvat. Everything there is really expensive, so a parcel is greatly appreciated. When they post birthday party pictures, the children are often dressed up in pretty party dresses with sweet hair accessories.
ReplyDeleteHello Jules, what a pretty card and your organza bloom is gorgeous, Kate x
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card and love the flower design. Big hugs, Carol S.xxxx
ReplyDeleteOh Jules,what a beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteI have also made roses with the candle method and the results are OK! Think I have sometimes got the candle too close to the organza and singed it too much .. . I must remember safety first.
Take care, keep safe.
