Hi Everyone
Just calling by to wish everyone the very happiest Christmas they can have in these very strange times.
I certainly know that here it isn't going to be anything like it was last year when we could have as many people crammed around our Christmas table as we wanted.
I will be very grateful for the two people who "are" able to sit at the table with Mr Heart and I that's for sure, but there will be two special folk missing .. .. .. .. the London Kids who are locked in Tier 4.
We have known for a while that we wouldn't be together so I have slowly come to terms with not seeing them.
I did send them my favourite Christmas card of this year though:
Thankfully we have Facetime to share so we can see each other and can chat for as long as we want to .. .. and plans have been made to get the Playstation cranked up and for us all to play on-line games with each other that make us laugh (mainly because Mr Heart and I are so rubbish at them). We had a "trial run" over the weekend and things went well (surprisingly) so hopefully we won't be too big a disappointment in the league table. LOL!!.
So simple pleasures that I am really looking forward to (though it might involve me having to download additional games as the week goes on).
I always thought I appreciated everything and everyone in my life but I must admit this year has taught me that I perhaps haven't appreciated things enough .. .. .. and hopefully I will come out of all this a better person.
Take care everyone.
Have the very best Christmas you can and thank you so much for all your visits and lovely comments over the past year. I appreciate each and every one very much.
.. .. .. just to add .. .. ..
Tonight I have just been reminded of something else I have mistakenly taken for granted ... .. tonight our central heating has decided to stop working (even though it was serviced not so long ago). We have hot water but no heat (grateful thanks for the hot water Mr Chaos disher outerer). Tomorrow will see us raid the roof space for any electric heaters we have squirrelled away "just in case".
Hope I can make the house warm enough for Mum tomorrow .. .. she normally lives in temperatures that a greenhouse would be proud of .. .. .. whilst she wears multiple layers of clothing!
I know exactly what you mean about the central heating, having been in a similar situation not so long ago. I do hope it gets sorted out soon. Wishing you a lovely day, in spite of the restrictions. I suppose at least it will be a Christmas everyone will remember! Thank you for all the lovely inspiration you provide - today's card is a beauty. Here's to a much better 2021! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Jules and I am sure the London kids love it. I think you will have fun playing online games and this Christmas will always be talked about in future. So sorry to hear about the heating...hope mum will be ok...hot water bottles at the ready.! Hope you can get it fixed pronto. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas wishes to you. Just The doc and I here. The kids are in their own bubbles. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteDear Jules, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas, despite the Corona rules. We all have to adjust now, but just like you, I realise that we must be grateful for what we have. Such a pity, that your heating is gone, I hope that you can warm up your place for a nice Christmas Day. Love, Enny
ReplyDeletePS : Your card is wonderful !
Gorgeous card and I hope your day hasn't been too chilly with your heating problems coming along just when temperatures seem to have plummeted. I hope it can be sorted quickly. Take care. Hugs xx

ReplyDeleteLovely card! I really like the design. Also like your very thoughtful post. I sure hope you have heat by now. Life is always full of surprises isn't it? Our surprise was our brand new roof leaking last night...Things like that are always stressful but even more so on Christmas eve.
ReplyDeleteI have NOT seen my grandson for a year now, but I did just get off the phone with him. I'm just glad he is safe and well. Hopefully 2021 will be better.
Really beautiful card honey. Bet they loved it. Hope you've had a nice christmas due to these restrictions and that you managed to keep warm. Especially with having your lovely mum over. We've just got a new boiler as ours was leaking. The house has never felt so toasty.Thank you for the lovley message you left for me on my blog. Really meant alot to me. Take care. Hugs Debs xxx

Such a beautiful card, Jules, and I really hope you got the heating fixed! It has been very different this year, but like you say, we have plenty to be thankful for. Thank goodness for technology like Skype, zoom etc, although we haven't ventured as far as playing games online...not sure our skills are up to that! Hope 2021 brings you and yours many things that bring you joy. Stay safe and happy new Year xxx
