My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

TWEET WISHES

Hi Everyone

Happy Wednesday!  I hope it has been a good day for you all.

Mine has been a really productive one so I am super happy!

Apologies for the absence .. .. again!!  It is "all go" on the wedding front.  New couples are still signing up so it looks like my final year of wedding work is going to be a busy one.

But I was desperate for a little play this evening using a template that the lovely Mr Heart created for me over the weekend.  It is my take on a card I received from the lovely Maureen quite a while ago now, and it measures nearly 12cm square .. .. which means it is probably smaller than the photograph you are looking at here!  LOL!

This used:

Image:  Kaisercraft "Butterfly Kisses" (quite old now)
Sentiment:  Computer Generated using font "Aracne Condensed Regular"
Backing Papers:  All the papers and card are snippets from my ever growing mountain of leftovers .. .. not that a little card like this uses very many!
X-Cut Flower Punch (also very, very old)
Pearls
ProMarkers
Circle Die
Wood Effect Embossing Folder
Rich Cocoa Memento Ink Pad

and that is me for today .. .. .. off to Pixie's Snippets Playground now to share my use of snippets.

Catch you again soon, more than likely with the Valentine card I am making for Mr Heart!

SUNDAY PLAYTIME

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all had a lovely Sunday .. .. the weather has been really nice here so the washing line has had to be utilised again!!

My craft pod clear up campaign is still continuing .. .. mainly because lots of goodies need to be returned to their rightful place.  I keep taking boxes to Mum's .. .. bringing them back .. .. taking the completed work out of the box but not all the other contents.  Shame on me!

So as things were starting to look "a little" more like they should I decided to have a little play with a shaped card .. .. one which Mr Heart drew the template for yesterday.  (He has his uses LOL!!).

Not a huge card.  Just 11.5cm square and I thought it would be great for a Father's Day card .. .. especially if decorated in the recipient's favourite football team colours.  Not that these are Mr Heart's favourite team colours.

In fact if the template was scaled down it could even be of interest to my "happy couples" who have football themed weddings .. .. it would make quite a cute placename.  But my scan n cut would have to do the cutting .. I wouldn't want to cut 80 odd by hand that's for sure.

But my little creation as you can see is another Father's Day card which uses the same DigiStamp Boutique download as on one of my cards from yesterday .. .. just a re-sized blue version instead of the brown version I used yesterday .. .. called "Special Dad Circle".

So that is me for today.  A little earlier than last night!! LOL!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR HEART !!

Hi Everyone

Yes, today is the day my lovely has a birthday!!

Happy Birthday Mr Heart .. .. and thank you for being the best hubby a gal could ever wish for!!

I made a special card for him in celebration based on a picture I saw on Pinterest which linked to here.

I didn't find any templates etc but simply cut shapes by hand or by using the Nestabilitie dies listed below.

This used:

Backing Papers:  DCWV "All About Boys" Stack
Sentiment:  Digistamp Boutique "Simple Birthday Greetings - Male"
Nestabiltie Dies:  Classic Circles and Labels Two - everything else hand cut
Hot Fix Studs
Distress Inks
White Gel Pen
Metallic Cord

As I was able to use up my snippets for this creation I am going to strum my way along to Di's Crafty Snippet Challenge.

I am well chuffed with this and hubby was too.  When he opened it he said "that's posh".  I think that means it is a hit  LOL!!!

I will just have to hope that Son number two doesn't want it replicating for all his band mates as I have used the last bit of my wood effect paper.   I will have to keep my eye open for some more!

Have a great day everyone.

HOW CUTE IS THIS?

Hi Everyone

Hope your weekend has got off to a good start.  Wasn't the opening of Olympics brilliant?  Not that I have seen it all yet .. .. no way can I sit down in front of the TV for that long without nodding off!!

However, there has been lots of fun in the House of Hearts craft pod today (sunshine is wasted on me!!).

Some of you may know from previous years that my lovely Sister and I take part in the Melbourne Arts Trail each year.  My Sis sells her gorgeous bags and I take my makes.

Well it is getting close to panic stations with regards getting stock together .. .. .. only 48 days to go!!!  Eeeekk!! (Not that I have a countdown on my laptop or anything LOL!!).

I have hardly worked on any stock .. .. it has all been wedding work recently .. ..  and the stock which I had made has been sold already!

So quick and fun makes needed in a hurry.

Last year I did really well with the little handbag cards .. .. so this year I am trying my luck with these cute little cards.  They are only dinky .. .. about 4" high .. .. but I think they might have novelty value.

This used:

Hero Arts Frame Cuts "Cupcake Frame"
Papers and Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Diamond stickles, glamour dust and a little gem

The frame set comes with the heart, a candle or a cherry.  Of course I will ring the changes but for my first play with it I just had to use the heart!!   (Whoops I gave you a clue there).  LOL!!

I got the idea from the Hero Arts Blog here.  The lady in the video has put quite a bit of dimension into her version (which looks extra cool)  .. .. I will do some like this, but the majority I want to keep fairly flat so that they are a bit cheaper when it comes to buying postage stamps!

Plus they are going to be brilliant for using up some of those pesky snippets.

Have a good evening everyone.

Catch you tomorrow with my snippets.

I'VE HAD BAGS OF FUN!!

Hi Everyone

I fancied having a go at a handbag shaped card today .. .. and I must admit I am really pleased with the result.

Of course it doesn't want to fit into any standard sized envelope but now I have my scor-pal that won't be a problem.

I did a quick envelope out of copy paper before I embellished my little card just to make sure I wasn't going to be stuck with a card that didn't fit an envelope LOL!!!

This used:

Papers: DCWV Latte Stack
Nestabilities: Standard Circles Large, Classic Scalloped Circles Large (with a bit chopped off!!)
Sentiment: Elzybells
X-Cut Punches: Flowers
Button, Gems and Cord from the stash box

The template I used came from here.

I really love the finished look and think I am going to make a few more in different colours.

Can't wait for my lovely Sis to see it.  She isn't the only one that can make handbags!!  Tee hee!!

So it is a short and sweet post from me today as I am a bit of a busy bee and have a lot to do .. .. .. but I must just report that I had a lovely snuggly sleep last night with the extra duvet width!!

Catch you again tomorrow
