My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

FRIDAY NIGHT AGAIN .. .. YAY!!!

Hi Everyone

Friday night again and this week hubby is around. Yay!!

I have had a really productive day on the card front and here is my last creation of the day.

I hope you like it.

This card used:

Image: Fairy Doodles "346"
Background Papers: Pink Petticoat "Stripes"
ProMarkers
Craftime Ultra Fine Glitter
Brad and Ribbon from my stash box

The image is part of a pack which contained lots of images and sentiments. Great value for money and a set I know I am going to use over and over. The flower and butterfly border was also part of the same set.

That is me for today. I will be back tomorrow morning with my Allsorts Challenge card.

Have a good evening.

A QUICK CARD AND AN AWARD

Good morning everyone

Just a very quick and simple card to share this morning. But one I really like.

This has used:

Image: Magenta "Deco Vase"
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat
KPS16 Funky Heart Punch
ProMarkers
Ribbon and Brads from the stash tin

A really simple and very quick card as I said but I just love using this image. It always looks nice no matter what I do with it.

Now to my award.

I have received an award from from both Juls at The Glitter Chick and Jacee at Paper Thoughts.
I received the same award from both blog buddys. Thank you very much for thinking of me ladies.

Please take time to visit both of their blogs. They have some beautiful creations to share with you.

Well the sun is shining here today - let's hope it lasts.

Catch you again soon.

HERE AT LAST

Hi Everyone

What a hectic evening - never thought I would get here.

Just a quick card to share this evening that hasn't been made for anything in particular. Just for fun! I made the card early evening but just haven't had chance to post it.

This card used:

Images: Lace background - Inkadinkado "90355-Y" and Flower - Magenta "H0306"
Punches: Martha Stewart "Lace Doily" and Woodware "small label"
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat
Ribbon, thread, sticky gems

I love the lace stamp. I think it looks so "real". Sometimes I emboss it but this time it has just been stamped onto white card using black Stazon.

I think I am liking seeing white on my cards this week!

Must fly - I know I have lots of people to thank for leaving awards on their blogs for me but unfortunately I haven't had time to pick them up and mention them here tonight. But thank you very much and I promise to pick them up asap as it is so very kind of people to think of me.

In the meantime I must go and eat!!!

Thanks for calling by. By the way .. .. my followers returned yesterday .. .. Yay!!!

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - WEEK 59

Hi Everyone

One very quick post before hubby arrives back. Due back within the hour!!!! Yay!!

This is my Penny Black Challenge card - this week the theme is to work to a recipe.

3 - ribbons .. .. .. .. 2 - flowers .. .. .. .. 1 - charm or pin

Here is what I created

This used:

Image: Penny Black 3947K "Day-dreams"
Sentiment: Penny Black 2908F "...to you"
3 very small scraps of ribbon from my lovely lady at the local market
1 charm: Papermania
Punches: Martha Steward "Frond" - X Cut "Medium & small flower" - Fiskars "Threading Water"
Gems "Josy Rose"
Stickles "Crystal"
ProMarkers

I don't know how well you can see it on the photograph but I have "snipped" into the petals on the first layer of my flowers which were punched from mulberry paper. I saw a little packet of flowers like these for sale in a local store and "pinched the idea". Just thought I would share in case anyone else fancied a try (but then again perhaps not everyone is as easily impressed as I am LOL!!!).

Well at the beginning of this post I said it was going to be "a quick one" .. .. .. can you believe it has taken me 14 attempts to upload my picture to Mr Blogger. I think he must have that Sunday afternoon "chilled and relaxed" feeling!!!

Take care everyone.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

PASSION FOR PROMARKERS - WEEK 8

Morning Everyone

Yippee .. .. Sunday and Hubby comes home today!!!! I must admit that the time he has been away has gone very quickly and I haven't done half of what I wanted to. But then I do expect to do at least four times as much as any sensible person would.

But one thing I did manage to do was the Passion for ProMarkers Challenge. This week the colours you need to use are "Lime" and "Rose Pink" and this is what I came up with:

This used:

Image: Woodware FRN009 "Milo Patchwork Monkey"
Background Paper: Pink Petticoat "His N Hers" Collection
ProMarker Pens
Sentiment: Computer Generated
Ribbon: American Crafts Elements
Fiskars little heart punch
Brads from the stash box

I love this little monkey and have used him quite a bit (but I must admit - not normally in these colours!!!).

I hope that everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Thank you for calling by.

ALLSORTS CHALLENGE - WEEK 11

Good morning everyone

Saturday morning is here again and this can only mean one thing .. .. .. .. another Allsorts Challenge.

This week there are two parts to the challenge which has been set by Kirsten.

The first part of the challenge is to work to a lovely sketch which has been provided by Dawny P and the second part is to make "chocolate and marshmallow" your inspiration.

Kirsten is offering a selection of her favourite spacers and charms as the prize this week.

Here is what I created

this is the sketch (which I flipped - something I often forget to try)

My creation used:

Backing papers: Funky Fairy download "A chocolate covered Christmas"
Image: Sugar Nellie "Daisy"
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat
Punches: X Cut "Medium and small flower" & Martha Stewart "Frond"
Pro Markers
Sticky Gems, Nail Heads and brad from my stash box

So why not have a play with the sketch and the colourway and enter it into the challenge for this week. I really enjoyed making my creation.

We had lots of entries into the challenge last week .. .. .. where the prize was a two week DT spot on the Allsorts challenge team. If you entered a card last week then don't forget to check back on the Allsorts blog later to see if you were a winner.

Have a happy weekend everyone.

MY PRESSIE FROM "MRS X"

Hi Everyone

I have had a mega productive day - but it has been very quiet without hubby. Missing him lots .. .. .. although he has sent lots of text messages and we have spoken a few times!!! LOL!!

Time to share the contents of my mystery parcel which arrived this morning from Mrs X (as explained in my earlier posting of today). My photograph isn't brilliant because the weather here is just horrendous today. Mega rain and dull black clouds!!! But I wanted Mrs X to see that I had played with my lovely pressie.

Look what I got and what I made:

This used:

Image: Messy Rabbit "Baby Bunny MR151"
Sentiment: Elzybells
Spellbinders Nestabilities "Large Deckled Rectangles"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Swiss Dots"
Promarkers
Fiskars heart punch
Ribbon from the stash box
Backing paper: Sorry not sure - might be Papermania - it was one of those huge packs that I have had for years and feel I will never get to the end off LOL!!

I loved colouring this image. So sweet. Thank you very much Mrs X - you know I am a soft touch for Messy Rabbit - but you are very naughty!!!!

Catch you all again tomorrow for a new Allsorts Challenge and to see who is going to be joining the team for a two week DT spot. Can't wait!!!

I HEART YOU

Hi Everyone

Here is one of the cards I have created today.

This is for a special little chap who is on holiday at the moment and had a birthday whilst he was away. He comes home tomorrow so I will be able to catch up with him then with his card (and a toy that I hope he hasn't already got).

This used:

Image and sentiment: Popcorn the Bear "I love you"
Backing paper: Funky Hand CD "V. Funky"
Pencil sharpener buttons from my button box (with the shanks cut off)
Woodware corner punch
Promarkers
Ribbon from the stash box

Be back later.

CRAFT FEST HAS BEGUN AND SOME "THANK YOU" MESSAGES

Hi Everyone

Well my "Craft Fest" has begun. It should have started last night but by the time I had finished work, gone shopping, visited my Mum, spoke with my son on the telephone, and had a long, long hot bubbly bath with a G & T and a craft magazine I was just far too chilled.

I ate and then managed my usual trick of falling asleep on the settee and woke up at midnight to go to bed.

So hopefully the fun has now started and I will have a few things to share with you over the next couple of days.

Before I share though I need to thank a couple of people.

My first thank you goes to one of my blog pals .. .. who will simply be known as "Mrs X" as she doesn't want me to draw attention to her - but she does deserve a big bloggy "thank you". So Mrs X - thank you very, very much. You are very generous and very kind.

Mrs X is up to her neck with work at the moment but even though she has been this busy she has spared some of her very precious time to think of me and arrange for a special little parcel to wend its way to me via my lovely post lady this morning.

Thank you Mrs X. This is very much appreciated and so very kind (and naughty) of you. I will hopefully be sharing the contents of this little parcel later .. .. can't wait to play.

The second thank you is for my blog pal Natalie for giving me a lovely blog award. I love Natalie's blog and feel quite honoured that she felt I was worthy of this award. If you get chance to pop over to her blog then you must. You will be in for a real treat.

I really must make some time to sort out a little "trophy cabinet" on my blog!!!!

OK then. Off to photograph a creations that I am allowed to share. Not everything I will be making can be shown .. .. .. but those I can show I will .. .. .. if I think you will like them.

My "followers" are still invisible to me and yet when I went on at work in my lunch hour yesterday I could see them there!! How strange.

Catch everyone later.

HELP!!!!

Hi Everyone

Sorry - nothing to share tonight as my hubby goes away in the morning for 3 whole nights!!!

We have never been apart for this length of time ever, other than when I had our first baby (you had to stay in hospital longer in those days).

So I decided we should spend the evening together rather than me shutting myself away with my toys. (Have to admit I am missing them though).

The main reason for my post is that I am in "mini" panic mode. Has everyone lost all their followers from their blog or is it just me? I just have a huge blank section where all my bloggy friends should be!!!!!

I hope all my bloggy friends and my husband are deserting me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WINTER WONDERLAND WEEK 8

Hi Everyone

Tonight I am going to share my creation for the Winter Wonderland challenge.

In all honesty this wasn't what I started to create. Originally I coloured an image that I had wanted to colour for quite a while and once finished I couldn't imagine it as anything but a "Congratulations on your New Job" card.

I then got on a "mini depression" because there are no "new jobs" at the moment - or next to none - and I knew I wouldn't want to post it.

Oh dear!! What would get me out of my "mini depression"? Easy .. .. .. a Christmas card!!

So Winter Wonderland to the rescue where the theme is "Santa Claus is Coming to Town".

All the way through this creation I have been singing "Santa Baby" .. .. .. I have even got hubby whistling it!!!

So here is my creation:

This used:

Background paper: Pink Petticoat "Minis Dotty Snowflakes"
Image: Spiral Whisper (unfortunately the on-line shop is currently closed)
Sentiment: Penny Black 3502F "a wish"
Cuttlebug set "Ice Crystal" + "Snowflake # 2"
Promarkers
Glossy Accents
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon, brad & Josy Rose heart

So all happy again and another Christmas card done!

My new job card can wait until the up-turn in the job market!!! Phew .. .. .. hope it doesn't go brown at the edges whilst we are waiting.

Thank you for calling by and I'll catch you all again soon

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - WEEK 58

Hi Everyone

I hope your weather today has been better than where I live .. .. .. .. no lovely BBQ smells wafting around today as we have had mega rain!!! So different to this time last week when we had our own mini music festival at our "local".

At least when it is raining I can have a little craft session without feeling guilty about not pulling up weeds in my garden!!

So my craft session today included my Penny Black challenge card where the theme was "Soft and Sweet".

I think my creation counts firstly because this little mouse is so soft and sweet but secondly because the image is called "Cheesecake Wish". You can't get much sweeter than a cheesecake. . . . . yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmie. This was my very first Penny Black stamp and my all time favourite. He is just lovely!

Here is my creation

This used:

Image: Penny Black 1652J "Cheesecake Wish"
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat
Backing Paper: Funky Hand Download "Shabby Saturday"
Spellbinder Nestablities "Classic Scalloped Circles Large" and "Standard Circles Large"
Woodware Flower Punch
Fiskars Heart Punch
Promarkers
Crystal Stickles
Ribbon and Gems from the stash box

Enjoy the rest of Sunday.

HERE AT LAST!

Hi Everyone

I'm here at last. What a little "social bod" I have been this evening.

Lots of phone calls, text messages, emails alongside trying to make a little creation to share.

But I am ready now.. .. .. albeit a little late (again!!!).

Do you ever start a card just knowing that you are going to love it before you are even half way through? This was one of those cards for me. No matter what I did it felt right.

Here is my creation:

This creation used:

Images all came from Lavinia Stamps
Background stamp "Fairy Words"
Main Image "Fairy House"
Small Image "Slender Mushrooms"
Background Paper "Memory Store"
Cuttlebug embossing folders "Swiss Dots and Distressed Stripes"
Spellbinders Nestabilities "Large Deckled Rectangles"
Archival Brilliance Inkstamps "Pearlescent Jade and Beige"
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Liquid Pearls "Mint Green"

Crystal Stickles
Woodware small circle punch
Promarkers

No clues as to what I used for the heart!!!!

Phew!! Quite a list really.

Well my four day weekend starts here. Yay!!

Big plans .. .. .. I just hope I can make a big dent in them.

Catch you all again soon.

WELL DONE MANTH!!

Hi Everyone

A quick card to share with you tonight.

This is for my niece "Manth" who is graduating tomorrow.

We are all meeting up for a little celebration later after her ceremony. A lovely "proud" day for my great Sis xx.

To make this card I used:

Image: Penny Black 2079E "Top Dog"
Sentiments: Whisper Words and Woodware "FRCL056 "You Did It!"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Stars"
Spellbinders Nestabilities "Large Deckled Rectangles"
Brads from the stash box
Promarkers

Sorry the picture isn't brilliant. I have only just made this card and it is being picked up any minute now .. .. .. .. .. .. in the middle of a big rain and thunderstorm!!!

Not ideal lighting for taking any photographs - unless you like to take pictures of lightening!!

Before I go I would just like to say a quick thank you to everyone who has sent me lovely messages and comments about my DT spot announcement of yesterday and I would also like to thank everyone in the big bloggy craft world for providing me with such brilliant inspiration. So glad I took the plunge and started a blog - after at least 18 months of dithering!!!!

Catch you all again soon.

HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU!

Hi Everyone

Exciting news from me today!!! Check out the new "blinkie" at the top of my blog!!!!

As you know I have been doing "holiday cover" with the Allsorts Challenge blog for the last couple of weeks as a Guest member on the DT.. .. .. .. well yesterday I was asked if I would like to join them as a permanent DT member.

Woo hoo!!!!!

I said "yes". LOL!!

I was asked whilst I was halfway through posting my Penny Black Challenge card yesterday and was so tempted to add my exciting news to my post .. .. .. .. but instead I held myself back until everything was set up and finalised.

Oh .. .. I am so excited.

The only "down side" is that I will no longer be able to win any of the fantastic prizes that Allsorts always have on offer.

Thank you to my "team mates" over at Allsorts for giving me a vote of confidence and inviting me to join them. It will be great to be working with you all.

Catch everyone again later with a creation.

Love and excitement

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - WEEK 57

Hi Everyone

Well it has turned into a beautiful day here. I hope it is the same for everyone.

My post today is my card for the Penny Black Challenge where the theme is "swirls".

Here is my card:

This used:

Image: Penny Black 3206J "Crossing Bridges!"
Backing Paper: Funky Hand CD "Funky Word Books"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder "Stylized Flowers"
Spellbinders Nestabilities "Large Deckled Rectangles"
Woodware Flower Punch
Fiskars Heart Punch
Promarkers
Ribbon and gems from my stash box

I really love the papers from my Funky Hand CD's and Downloads but I didn't buy the Funky Word Books because I didn't feel I would ever make a word book.

But in my prize from Enfys a couple of weeks ago was the one CD I hadn't bought and what a fool I have been. It isn't just word books - there are A4 sheets to print too and the patterns are delicious. You will be seeing some more of these in future posts! Thank you Enfys.

Right - off out to listen to some bands at our "local" now. They have four bands playing in the garden tonight .. .. .. hopefully not all at the same time!!!

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

This weeks challenge has been set by Deb who has provided a sketch for everyone to work to (and lovely it is too).

There is another wonderful prize on offer for the winner (chosen by random org) from Stamp Addicts.

You know you need one to pack all that stash into and tidy up your craft space so get creating!!!
Here is the sketch

and this is what I created (but pop over and see the inspiration from the "real Allsorts DT")

Not sure if I will be back later today or not. Might just make the most of a hyperactive mojo!!!

If I am not back later then have a great weekend everyone and I will see you tomorrow morning for the Allsorts Challenge. I am still a Guest on the DT and have another creation/challenge to share. Hope you will be able to join in. (Still time to enter this weeks challenge - you might win a Pink Petticoat download).

WINTER WONDERLAND - WEEK 6

Hi Everyone

Well I have been very naughty and neglected my efforts at early Christmas card making - I'll be sorry come December!!!

So to make amends here I am with my card for the Winter Wonderland Challenge. This week the theme is "Christmas Past".

Here is my creation

Here is what I used to make it:

Image: Stampendous! P106 "Mother Child"
The beautiful star is an unmarked stamp
Backing Paper: Funky Hand Download "Funky Christmas Time"
Embossing Powder: Heat It Up "Silver Pearl"
Fiskars Corner Rounding Punch
Brads and ribbon from the stash box

I can't believe that the lovely star stamp is unmarked. I think it is beautiful when embossed and all the little swirls appear!

I hope everyone has had a lovely day - catch you again soon.

MESSY RABBIT HITS THE HIGH SEAS

Hi Everyone

Another quick post tonight with another one of my favourites - Messy Rabbit!!

Tonight he is sailing the high seas - I just love Messy Rabbit. He is another image that is lovely to colour.

But can you believe that my favourite bit was the "message in a bottle" - I thought this was so cute (and no - the heart isn't curled up in the message!!!).

To make this creation I used:

Image: Joanna Sheen MR146 "Rowing Rabbit"
Sentiment: Penny Black "Critter Party"
Backing Paper: Papercraft World
Promarkers
Inkssentials "Glossy Accents"
Diamond Stickles
Brads from the stash box
KPS16 Funky Heart Punch

and that is it.

Sorry but I cannot remember which Papercraft World disc I got this paper from but if anyone particularly wants to know then shout up and I will do a search through my discs. It is a lovely design and one I use quite a bit for "water cards".

As you can probably tell I print off a lot of my backing papers from discs / downloads but unfortunately I end up with lots of scrap bits which I can never part with (after all you only need a small bit of scrap to punch a heart out of LOL!!!) and I cannot always remember where I printed them from. (But I always know who supplies them!!).

That is me for tonight. Thanks for dropping by.

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - WEEK 56

Hi Everyone

I hope that your weekend has been a good one.

I have spent most of today washing and ironing. (and I can't believe that I still have so many shirts left to iron!! Hubby has bought himself a load of new work shirts and of course they all need washing and ironing before he can wear them).

So as a reward for being such a domestic goddess I have treated myself to a session with my toys and created my Penny Black Challenge card for this week.

The challenge is a colour theme this week where the colours are Red, White and Blue.

Here is my creation:

This is what I used:

Image: Penny Black 1444K "Hedgehog Bouquet"
Backing Papers: Pink Petticoat "Pretty Doodles"
Promarkers
Buttons and ribbon from the stash box
Diamond stickles

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone and I'll catch you again soon.

ALLSORTS CHALLENGE - WEEK 8

Hi Everyone

Mega excitement in my little world this week.

I was asked if I would be a Guest Designer on the Allsorts Challenge Blog as some of their regular DT members were on holiday.

The theme is to make a "shaped card" and I really enjoyed making mine.

There is a lovely prize on offer this week for the winner. A download from Liz at the brilliant Pink Petticoat. Mmmm just realised .. .. .. I won't be in with a chance of winning this week!!!

I don't know if you normally visit Pink Petticoat but the winner is going to be spoilt for choice - and once you own one download.. .. .. well you know how the story goes LOL!!

So, here is my "shaped card".

To make this I used:

Backing paper: Pink Petticoat "Accessory Papers (Pretty Pink & Pink - Little Hearts)
Image: The Greetings Farm "Princess Anya"
Sentiment: Great Impressions
Small circle punch
Promarkers
Papermania Adhesive Stones
Craftime Ultra Fine Glitter
Silver peel-offs for edging

I hand cut the base card using the crown on Princess Anya as my inspiration.

So you have now had a sneeky glimpse of one of Liz's Pink Petticoat papers here. You can drool over all the others and see what you have the chance of winning by clicking here.

But once you have finished drooling make sure you get creating and enter your "shaped card" into the challenge.

You can get lots of inspiration from what the "real "- Allsort DT members have created on the Allsorts Blog.

Have fun.

OH TO BE ABLE TO WEAR HEELS LIKE THESE!!!

Hi Everyone

Back again with my usual Friday evening excitement.

I posted a challenge card earlier today - but that was a trial. I wanted to see if I could do that "scheduled post" thingy - and yes.. .. it worked. .. .. and that is something new I have learnt (or is it learned?) today.

But now you have the usual Friday night excited Jules with another creation.

I just had to use my MS punch again. I love it and you will all be sick of seeing it soon. The poor thing has been on overdrive today.

I love my finished creation - and it isn't even a cute one!!!

Aren't those shoes just "to die for"!!!!! I can remember the days when I would have been able to "wear" and "walk" in those beauties. I think nowadays I would do well to squeeze them onto my feet and sit in them .. .. .. LOL!!!! But a girl can dream.

Lots of fantastic goodies on this card but not all as expensive as they look. Can you believe that the gorgeous "snake skin" paper that I used for the border and to stamp the shoes onto came from my local Morrisons Supermarket.. .. it is even textured to the touch!!. (Does anyone else still think "what can I find to craft with" when stocking up the fridge and cupboards and that cleaning cupboard that we won't talk about?).

The paper was part of a child's "Art Attack" kit. Lots of animal skin papers, feathers and pom-poms - great value for money. (Not sure what I will do with the pom-poms - or some of the strange coloured feathers - but I am sure there will be a challenge calling for them one day).

Anyway - enough of the waffle.. .. .. here is my creation of the evening:

To make this creation I have used:

Image & Sentiment: Hero Arts CL303 "High Heels"
Punches: Martha Stewart Doily Lace & Scalloped Hearts
Papermania Adhesive Stones
Ribbon from the lovely lady on the market
Papers from the supermarket LOL!!

Well that is me for this evening.

I now have the luxury of a long soak in a very hot and bubbly, bubble bath. I need to make up for not having any hot water for the last three days!!

All my carpets are now back down where they belong and my new boiler is installed and hopefully working properly. Just need to keep my eyes open for leaks!!!!!

Do as my card says "Kick up your heels & have fun!"

Take care everyone and see you again over the weekend.

LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED - ALLSORTS CHALLENGE 7

Hi Everyone

Here I am again .. .. following on from all my excitement of yesterday.

I have come home from work today to find carpets pulled back and floorboards up and no hot water!!! Only cold water and a shower until Friday!! Still this is better than our ancestors had.

Tonight I have finally completed my challenge card for the Allsorts Challenge blog.

I say finally because I didn't have any acetate .. .. .. and this week I had to use acetate on my card somewhere.

To begin with I was using clear plastic packaging instead of acetate and it wasn't looking too bad and then whilst searching for something else I came across a packet of coloured acetate. Brilliant!!

So that was it. Start again girl!!!!

I have used the same stamp as I used on my hubby's card the other evening but because I have trapped some hearts between the acetate and the backing paper I "chopped some off the side of the image". No-one is allowed to receive more hearts than my hubby (my rules not his).

Between the acetate and the backing card are also strips of torn paper but unfortunately they don't show up too well in the photograph. Acetate isn't the easiest thing to get a good picture of.

To make this creation I have used:

Image: Hero Arts S5161 "Country Hearts"
Sentiment: Created from Great Impressions Stamp
Red Acetate
Woodware Brads
Unmarked heart punch
Ribbon from my lovely lady at the local market.

I hope everyone has had a good day and that no-one has melted in the heat.

Thanks for calling by and thank you for all the nice messages I received following my lovely blog candy win. Can't wait for Mr Postman to arrive.

Take care.

Love Jules xx
