My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

DRESSED UP

Hi Everyone

I hope the day is being nice to you .. .. .. once again Tuesday is the new Monday and I am going to be confused all week!!!  LOL!!!

I had a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend and hope that you did too and before I start rambling I would just like to thank you all for your lovely comments on the wedding stationery pictures I posted yesterday.  You are all very kind!

I had such fun taking my wedding stationery photographs.  In fact I should probably have taken a photograph of my little set up too as it threw the House of Hearts into chaos!! LOL!!

The pictures were taken using my Maplin photo booth .. . but because I had so many to take I wanted the booth at a decent height .. .. so I ended up with the photo booth on top of the coffee table .. .. which in turn stood on top of the dining room table.

So no tables to use anywhere because I had commandeered them all!!  Even Sunday's Chinese ended up more like a picnic .. tee hee!!

Anyway, here is my little share for today:

List used:

Image:  Penny Black "2082E" Dressed Up!
Sentiment:  Papermania Clear Stamps "Couch Potato"
Corner Stamps:  Verve Stamps "Thankful Accents
Backing Papers:  Raspberry Road
Distress Ink:  Tea Die
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Promarkers
Ribbon from the Stash Box

and that is it for today !!!

I am still beavering away at my website work and trying to think up and link together lots of nice words in a memorable and sensible fashion.

So much to consider .. .. and my brain is hurting a little  LOL!!

Sorry I am not visiting .. .. I am thinking of you all and wondering what you are all up to.  I promise to make amends at the weekend.

WEDDING STATIONERY

Hi Everyone

I hope you are having a brilliant Bank Holiday Monday.

I am still in wedding mode and thought you might like to see a couple of the invitations I have been taking pictures of.

I am just hoping that my camera is taking pictures that are good enough for what I need .. .. no chance of a new one of those for a good while yet!!!  LOL!!!

Anyway, what do you think?

Are my shots looking romantic enough do you think?

Have a great day.

JULES' CRAFTY SNIPPET CHALLENGE - WEEK 34

Hi Everyone

Snippet Sunday here ahead of a lovely Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow .. .. just as well you have an extra day as you might need it to get through today's post!!  You might want to split it across two days!!  LOL!!

Firstly though before I head off into snippet territory I would like to apologise for my lack of visiting over the last few days.  Life if very hectic here in the House of Hearts at the moment with a few exciting developments on the horizon .. .. but sadly things on the commenting front aren't likely to improve until next weekend!  I am needing every minute I can get at the moment .. .. but it will calm down.

At this stage it is just the pain before the gain!!

I haven't forgotten about you all .. ... I promise .. .. and I will catch up with you all eventually!!

Anyway, round to my snippets (which I made bright and early this morning).  Thankfully my sewing machine didn't wake my lovely hubby up!!  He probably couldn't hear it above his snoring  LOL!!!

.. .. and now time for the snippet register.  Just look how many lovely playmates I had this week:

First past the post, nice and early, was a newbie snippetier who has been peeping through the playground railings wondering whether to come and play or not.  Thankfully this week she decided to "go for it" and so we have a lovely first sharing from Catherine who confesses that she (like lots of us) has a mini mountain of snippets to get through.  The lovely thank you card that Catherine has posted has made a start on using them though and every little helps!!

Not very far behind Catherine was Brenda who after battling through clearing up the aftermath of a party the night previous, decided to shut herself away in her craftroom for a bit of peace and quiet and battle through clearing up some of her lovely snippets instead.  What a good job Brenda did too .. she brought a lovely share into the playground.

Next to the playground was the lovely Mandy who was carrying a lovely shaped card which was just perfect for using up some of those strips of paper we all get left with.  I love the card base and the gorgeous colours Mandy worked with .. .. but Mandy had so much fun she returned later with another creation which you will find here .. .. more gorgeous snippets and bling to boot!!

The next playmate to make her way to the playground and share her snippet make was Tammy who made a really bright and beautiful Christmas card.  Non-traditional colours and very effective.

Then a fairly new recruit who has caught the snippet bug was Sarah who played along twice this week.  Firstly with her gorgeous cupcakes here (and a fabby felt flower!!) and then secondly with a trio of loveliness here.  How lucky Sarah's daughter is to have such a creative Mum!!

Lynne was next to the playground with a gorgeous card that was so bright and summery.  I am loving the gorgeous colours, flowers and ribbon detail .. .. just beautiful!!  I hope life is calming down a bit for you now Lynne xx

Di was next on the scene with a super House Mouse make.  Great use of those snippets Di  .. .. .. and if you take time to read the whole of Di's post you will also notice that she bestowed an award on me .. .. for being to blame for spending her crafty pennies!!

Well all I can say to that is just watch this space and wait and see what I have up my sleeve .. .. I might be in for a few more awards of this nature LOL!!!!  Can't spill any beans until the 5th September but there is a lot of excitment in the House of Hearts about this development!!
My lovely buddy Sally was next in line with her snippet make  Her creation was so lovely .. beautiful pastel colours arranged so perfectly and a fabby flower punch too.  Love it!!

Elizabeth has been working so hard with her snippets that she is in danger of running out of them!!!  I somehow don't think I will ever be able to say that LOL!!!  Lots of lovely creations from Elizabeth this week .. .. two super cute ones that you will find here and a great card for a Christmas birthday here.

Debs was another lovely playmate who called along twice this week.  Her first lovely creation you will find here and the second one here.  I am loving the dinky tiny tags that Debs has used on her projects .. .. they look so sweet!!

Irene called by next with such a lovely delicate snippet make.  Loving the finished look of this very much .. .. I would love all the goodies for making this to be in my snippet box that's for sure!!!!

The next snippetier to arrive in the playground was Sandra who has introduced me to Rudolph Day.  Apparently Rudolph Day falls on the 25th of each month and on this day you try to post a Christmas card on your blog and then add the finished card to your Christmas card pile to try and reduce the pressure come the manic season.  Sandra did a lovely job of using up her snippets on her Rudolph Day creation!  I feel certain those orange snippets must "nearly" be used up by now Sandra LOL!!!

Jenny called by with a beautiful Christmas card made with her snippets.  She called it a clean and simple Christmas card .. .. but it looks fantastic.  See for yourself.  I love the wreath very much!

Jenny was very quickly followed by Tara who used her snippets to make a lovely acceptance card.  Loving the hearts on this but also the gorgeous vellum frame.. ... such a romantic look which Tara is planning to carry through onto a wedding card for the happy couple.  How special that will be!!!

The next lovely snippet creation came from Carol.  Lots of lovely snippets got the chance to shine here .. .. such gorgeous papers and colours!!  I hope you had a good time meeting up with your blog buddy Carol!!

Ann is the latest playmate to admit to becoming addicted to using up her snippets LOL!!  Fabby colours and great embossing on show here!!!  Not only has Ann made a gorgeous card she made a sweet little tag to go alongside too.  Perhaps I should put some Christmas tags on my snippet make list too .. .. along with all the other inspirational ideas you lovely ladies are providing!!

A newbie arrived in the snippet playground next in the shape of the lovely Susan who was excitedly waving her first snippet make .. .. and lovely it was too.  A really great sentiment used as the main feature of the card .. .. accompanied by snowflakes.  Gorgeous colourway too.  I hope you had fun in the playground Susan!!

Then last but not least this week was the lovely Amanda who shared the most gorgeous twisted easel card .. .. and also had me singing away!!  LOL!!  Amanda did what quite a few folk seem to be doing now and used up some of her snippets before they even made their way to the drawer!!!

Oh aren't we all getting into good habits!!! Well in this department anyway!!  LOL!!!

I do hope you have had fun looking at all of the inspiration my lovely playmates have provided this week .. .. thank you ladies xx

So that is me for today.

I am now off to spend the rest of the day taking photographs of  my wedding stationery and organising them into files.  One of the big jobs on my "do list" is working on having a new website built and if I want it finished for the 3rd October .. .. which is when our next wedding fayre is .. .. then I have to pull my finger out big time.  Hence the reason I may not be visiting much at all this week.  I will try to schedule a share each day but am unlikely to do any visting until the weekend (apart from my snippet entries of course).  Sorry :-(

I have a first meeting on Friday evening with the lady who is going to build my website for me, and I have lots to prepare in readiness!!  I want it all to go as smoothly as possible so have questions and notes galore!!  Tee hee!!  She will wonder what's hit her!!

The idea is that I am going to be able to add my own photographs and text (after a bit of training!).

Thankfully I am off cooking duties today .. .. we are having a Chinese so I can focus all my attention on the job in hand.

Have a good rest of Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

TWIT TWOOO

Twit Twooo .. .. how are you?

I hope you are well and looking forward to the long Bank Holiday weekend!!

The only thing that is better than a Friday night is a Friday night that marks the beginning of a long weekend .. .. .. but mine is even better as it marks the start of my lovely Hubby being on holiday for the whole of next week .. and a little bit besides!!

Oh I hope he isn't going to hinder production in the House of Hearts!!!  My "do list" still needs lots of attention!!

I am thinking I need to teach him how to use the Cuttlebug!!  He could be lots of help in that department .. .. but I somehow think he just wouldn't be impressed :-(

So, here I am round to my share of the day:

This used:

Image:  Squigglefly "Hooty Who"

BOLD SCRIBBLE TREE

Hi Everyone

I hope the day has been kind to you all and if you have children who were awaiting their exam results today .. .. I hope they got what they needed or wanted.  None of that malarkey in our household as my babies are all big and grown up now.

Well my share today is a Christmas card because I am reliably informed by lovely blog buddy Sandra that today is Rudolph Day .. .. apparently the 25th of every month is Rudolph Day .. .. with the idea that you make a Christmas card in the hope of easing the stress of the manic season!!

So here is my Christmas card in celebration of Rudolph Day LOL!!

This used:

Image:  Hero Arts "E1986" Bold Scribble Tree
Backing Papers:  Papermania "A Silent Night"
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Hobby Craft:  Snowflake Punch
My Trusty Sewing Machine
Ranger:  Gold Embossing Tinsel
Brads and Ribbon from the stash box

and nothing more!!

Sandra was a little worried when I hinted I would be celebrating Rudolph day in case a Christmas card  wasn't on my "do list" .. .. but she needn't have worried.  Not only is "a" Christmas card on my "do list" .. but 3 large boxes full of the lovely things .. .. so you might be seeing a few more festive creations from the House of Hearts!!  Good job I love Christmas LOL!!

I'll catch you again tomorrow with another share!!

WITH LOVE MUM

Hi Everyone

I hope your day has been good.

Mine has gone really well , but far too fast!!!

When I was at school the days seemed much longer that's for sure.

Anyway, here I am .. .. just a bit earlier with my share for the day

This used:

Image:  Teddy Bo
Sentiment:  Woodware Clear Stamps "FRCL128" Circular Greetings
Backing Papers:  Docrafts "V&A" Hanoverian
Martha Stewart Punch:  Valentine Lace
Woodware Punch:  Inverted Corner and Daisy (4 different sizes)
Leone Em Pty Punch:  Ash Branch
Nestabilities:  Circle
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Crystal Stickles
ProMarkers
Pinking Shears
Brad and gem from the stash box

and nothing more LOL!!!

Now round to my lovely Nestie storage that I showed you the other day.  Hubby was on the case within 2 hours of coming home from work .. .. .. how about that for service?  To begin with he did try to delay the job by saying "Why don't you wait until you get another and I will put them both up at the same time?".   But eventually I managed to persuade him that I needed to "try this one out" before I bought another.

Here it is in action!!

I am well chuffed with it (and will be needing another to sit alongside LOL!!)

Then finally I have received an award from my lovely blog buddy Di.  A bit of a different award really.  No confessions, no passing it on .. ... just a thank you to the person I received it from and acceptance that "I am to blame".  Nothing new there then LOL!!!

Basically I am to blame for Di spending her crafty pennies at Josy Rose on the nail heads that you see on just about all of my posts!!  Tee hee!!

So on that acceptance of blame I will leave you for today and will catch up with you again tomorrow.

ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

Hi Everyone

Well after being nice and early last night I am back to my bad ways of being a bit late again!!!

Must give myself a bit of a talking to when I have time LOL!!!

My "do list" was pretty big as I started the day .. .. and I was cracking through it quite well until the postman arrived with a package from Anice at Funky Hand!!  Only a new CD to play with ahead of it going on sale!!

So that took up a good chunk of my time looking through all the gorgeous papers and images!!  I can't wait to share some of the yummy things on it!!

Eventually I managed to switch the computer off and get back to my list.  A few things got crossed of .. but as quick as I cross them off I add to it again!!  Oh I love being busy!!

Anyway, here is my share of the day:

This used:

Sentiment:  Studio G "On Yur Wedding Day"
Backing Papers:  GCD Studios "Ella Blue"  (not that there is any of the blue showing)
Martha Stewart Punch:  Traditional Scallop
Silver Embossing Powder
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon, pearls, flower and charm from the stash box

I was also going to show you my lovely nestie storage now it is in-situ but I forgot to take a picture!!  Doh!!!  Will put it on my list to do tomorrow!!  That's another thing added  LOL!!

If you can't find the heart just give me a shout and I'll give you a few clues!!

Enjoy what is left of the evening everyone and I'll see you tomorrow.

NESTIE STORAGE AND THE VERY BEST MUM

Hi Everyone

A nice and early share from the House of Hearts today.

Who knows I might even manage to be posted before my lovely hubby gets home .. .. which is a very rare thing!!

As hubby managed my blind fitting so professionally the other week I have found another little task for him .. .. though it won't involve him balancing on a desk this time!!  LOL!!

First though my little share for today:

This used:

Image:  Trim Craft "Bloom and Grow .. . "Buttercup"
Sentiment:  Woodward Clear Stamps "FRCL078" Female Relatives
Sentiment banner:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  GCD Tudios "Tea Time"
Martha Stewart Punch:  Daisy
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
ProMarkers and Chalk
Distress Ink
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon from the Stash Box

.. .. and now round to my nestie storage solution.

At the moment I store my nesties in individual plastic CD wallets.  The floppy plastic type not rigid ones.  Then I store the wallets in a box .. .. but this is now proving not to be very practical.

So today I bought this from Dunelm:

A magnetic knife rack.  Just perfect for storing my little nesties on .. .. but I need to find somewhere for hubby to mount it so that if any of my nesties get accidentally knocked off they don't fall behind something I cannot move in a hurry .. ..  mmm .. ...  off to observe and peruse my craft pod for a practical spot .. .. .. ahead of hitting my hubby with the bad news that he needs to get his drill out again!!!  LOL!!

He isn't a natural DIY enthusiast .. .. in fact he isn't enthusiastic about DIY at all .. .. the best bit for him is putting his tools away at the end!! LOL!!

Have a good evening everyone.

I'll catch you again tomorrow.

JULES' CRAFTY SNIPPET CHALLENGE - WEEK 33

Hi Everyone

Where are the weeks going?!?!  I have never known time fly by so quickly.  I don't know about yours but my week has been super busy .. .. .. any chance of a few more hours in a day please?!?!?

Today though is going really well in the House of Hearts .. .. it is one of those days where everything is going to plan and everything feels all lovely and relaxed.  Woo hoo!!!  Why can't every day be like this?

Anyway, here are my snippet makes for this week:

This last picture is to show you what I have started to do with some of my smaller snippets as I am finding I am cutting into a snippet and just being left with smaller and smaller bits.

So now I am actually punching flowers out of them direct into an old Chinese Takeaway container (don't look for the heart .. .. those are all in a jam jar LOL!!)..

The container on the left (containing all the flowers and a pokey tool and some little brads) and an old mouse mat .. .. goes with me to my Mum's and whilst we are talking I sit and make flowers.  If I am really lucky my lovely sister and her girls arrive whilst I am there and then as if my magic the container on the left turns into the container on the right .. .. and I have a ready supply of gorgeous flowers sitting ready and waiting to be used!!  Brilliant!!

Now for the register of so many lovely playmates who also wanted to reduce their snippet mountain too this week:

My first playmate this week was super eagre and early .. .. in fact she had been lurking around the playground for two hours waiting for me to make an appearance last Sunday!!  Sorry about that Brenda - good job it wasn't rainng  LOL!!   Brenda had made a gorgeous House Mouse christmas card and used up some beautiful snippets into the bargain.  Love the snowflake!

Irene was good and early this week too (what eagre beavers everyone is becoming .. .. must be because it is such fun to use up those snippets).  Irene made another beauty this week with her LOTV image.  Wonderful embossing and snippets .. .. and just wait until you read about the baker's twine!!  Dedication indeed Irene .. .. well done!!  But then later in the week Irene decided to return to the playground and share a make which must feature the smallest snippet of all time .. .. decided for yourself .. .. you can find it here .. .. and it is super cute.

My playmate Sandra joined us next.  Sandra has just gained some duster brushes and put them to good use to make a really lovely card.  What a fantastic way to use up the white snippets Sandra!!  This one is definitely going on my list!!  Thank you for the inspiration.

A beautifully layered Christening card was then shown around the playground by Lynne .. .. gorgeous snippets and a fabby way to use up smaller pieces of ribbon.  Great idea Lynne.  Must remember that one!!  Loving the hearts that frequently make an appearance on Lynne's makes too!!

Di gave us a giggle and two gorgeous snippet makes this week using one of those ever popular themes with the ladies .. .. handbags and shoes!!!  So nice to see DL cards too .. .. a great change from the squares and the easels that seem to have taken over at the moment.

The next playmate into the playground was Beryl .. .. who very kindly took me down memory lane with her snippet make.  She used some beautifully coloured Encaustic Art snippets!!  A great make although Beryl's ribbon did have a mind of its own and caused the air to turn a bit blue around her craft space .. .. thank goodness that was out Beryl's system before she got to the playground!!!  LOL!!!

Gorgeous snippets were used on the card Elizabeth shared this week .. ... and she just happened to have an image she had sitting waiting to be used that matched perfectly.  How jammy is that?  Elizabeth is resurrecting an old tradition with her make this week.  I thought that was a wonderful idea!

Next into the snippet playground was Sally.. .. who has now got her Christmas stash out and would like to share two snippet makes.  The first one is here and the second one here!!!  Woo hoo!!! I don't know about you but I always love it when the Christmas stamps etc start to get proper use .. .. it is like having a whole new world of goodies to play with.  Loving Sally's card with all the little buttons.  Great Christmassy snippet makes!!!

Hazel was my next playmate to arrive in the playground with a lovely creation that must have made a nice dent in the snippet pile as there were quite a few lovely layers.  Gorgeous snippets and a great image and sentiment.

Hazel must love the snippet playground (well we are all a lovely friendly bunch you know) as she retuned again later in the week with another two snippet creations .. .. one you will find here and the next one here!!!  So that is three snippet makes in total .. .. what an eagre snippetier!!

The next arrival was Bernie .. .. between us we managed to show off the wrong creation last week (LOL!!!) .. .. so Bernie has linked what she really wanted to share last week, this week (does that make sense?) .  I am so pleased she did because it is far too lovely to miss.  How small are these snippets?!?!  and yet they still made a gorgeous card.  Great ribbon technique to see here too.

Tara was the next in line to share her fabby make .. .. and what a beauty it was too.  I won't spoil the fun by telling you what she created .. .. but let's just say she got extra points for using such a wide variety of snippets LOL!!  Well done Tara xx

My next playmate to arrive in the playground was Carol who created a brilliant Christmas card.  The treatment she gave her image was so realistic that she made me feel cold !!  Not sure if we should feel pleased or sorry for Carol  .. .. her children went back to school last week!!!  LOL!!!

A snippet playground newbie this week was Sarah who shared a really gorgeous card.  I love what Sarah did with her snippets .. such a great finished look.  Thanks for mentioning the cupcakes and making me peckish Sarah!!!  Tee hee!!!

Vicky was the next playmate to share a snippet creation .. .. and what a beauty if was too.  Just the thing for putting you in the mood for a holiday .. or for making you daydream of one that has perhaps passed!!!  Gorgeous colours and a fabby trick for making seagulls !!  Thanks for sharing Vicky xx

The lovely Amanda was the next to arrive with a snippet make that was so lovely.  Perfect colouring, great layout and super fabby snippets.  I managed to resist the urge to look where she bought them for at least 5 minutes!!  LOL!!!

Next to arrive in the playground was Mags who used her snippets for a spot of weaving!!  The finished look is like a lovely Christmas patchwork quilt.  Great idea Mags!!!

A really cute share was waved around the playground next by Sylvia.  This beautiful little make could sit on my mantlepiece all Christmas and I still wouldn't want to take it down come new year!!!  It just shows how snippets can be used to make the most gorgeous projects.

Someone else getting organised for Christmas popped into the playground next .. ... my new Funky Hand playmate Katina .. .. who had been very busy making three super duper little Christmas cards.  They are just so cute and perfect for your snippets!!

Then last but by no means least was another snippet newbie Ann who came with a beautiful share.  After 33 weeks I am losing track a little now of all the lovely creations people are putting forward .. .. but I think I am right in saying that this is the first scrapbook layout to be waved around the playground.  What a lot of patience Ann showed with this layout and what a lot of snippets she used up too!!!  I hope the babysitting went well Ann!!  Hope you got lots of cuddles in!!!

So that is me for this week.

Thank you to everyone who joins me in the playground to share your lovely makes and inspiration.

I am a little bit earlier this week .. .. .. just shows how well the day is going.

Time now for me to go and get started on the Sunday lunch.  Hubby has gone to fetch our little baby boy and I am on prep duty.  I love Sunday's .. .. and cooking Sunday lunch for two hungry men!

Not so keen on the pile of ironing that is staring at me though!!

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend and I'll see you again tomorrow.

SCARIE

Hi Everyone

Well a little earlier than last night  .. .. and yes .. .. I did end up watching Big Brother whilst we ate our rather late evening meal.

I told hubby I'm not bothered about it and for him not to put it on tonight .. .. but I am secretly beginning to think that "he" actually wants to watch it

Personally I was struggling to understand what half of them were saying .. . they couldn't even talk properly .. .. and if you were to ask me who any of them were and what their names are I could only name 3 .. .. and two of them are the hyperactive twins (who I must admit I secretly like .. .. I just love their energy and light heartedness).  They make me smile. Bet I have gone down in your estimations now!!  LOL!!!

Anyway, round to my share of the day

This used:

Image:  Stamposaurus "605" Scarie
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  Raspberry Road

So that is me for today.

I hope you have had a lovely Friday and that you enjoy your weekend .. .. whatever you are doing.
