A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

CHRISTMAS IS SPECIAL

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all had a wonderful (extra long) Sunday!!

I can't decide what I have done with my extra hour .. .. .. certainly not much crafting .. .. .. but then not every day can be perfect can it LOL!!

Quite a bit of shopping done though .. .. including some of the dreaded Christmas presents.  I am determined to be ready super early this year.

Today's creation is for a challenge I have never taken part in before.  The Friday Sketchers

The sketch this week was lovely to work with and here is what I created:

This used:

Image:  Buzzcraft "Fairy Doodles" No. 430
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
Sentiment:  Computer Generated
Image background:  Adirondack Lights "Cloudy Blue and Pink Sherbert"
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Hobbycraft Punch:  Small Snowflake
Diamond Stickles
Glamour Dust
ProMarkers

So that is me for today.

Tomorrow I am back with the start of a new month .. .. which means the launch of a new Penny Black at Allsorts Challenge and a new Funky Hand Challenge.  Woo hoo!!!

See you bright and early tomorrow.

X-Factor results tonight!!  Not such a good show last night I didn't think and Wagner has to go for me (if only to stop everyone saying the poor chaps name wrong .. .. how many times does he have to correct them!!)..

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY - CHALLENGE 125

Hi Everyone

Up and at it nice and early this morning and one of my first jobs on a Saturday morning is to have a look at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge .. .. .. any excuse to drool over Penny Black images LOL!!!

The theme this week is to use triangles or zig-zags on your project -  so for good measure I decided to use both.

Inspired by the DT work I thought I would jump straight into the challenge and here is my creation

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "4092K" A Thorny Affair
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  Cuddly Buddly "A Patchwork of Papers - Red"
Martha Stewart Punch:  Embossed Zig-Zag
ProMarkers
Glossy Accents
Woodware:  Mini Bells
Ribbon from the stash box
Diamond Stickles

So my share of the day is done nice and early today.

A beautiful sunny day here so the washing machine is going on overdrive and hubby is off to watch his football team .. .. they are doing quite well this season so hopefully he is going to see a good game.

I have sat and watched Anice from Funky Hand live on the TV (managed to see some of my creations) and now I really must get showered and dressed before the day is gone and I have spent it all in my PJ's!!!!  Shock horror!!

Have a lovely day everyone.

GOOD NEWS

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is well and ready for the weekend .. .. an extra hour to be gained into the bargain!!  What more could we ask for?

How will you spend yours?  An extra hour in bed .. .. and extra hour crafting?

I always tell myself I am going to spend it in bed .. .. but I never do.  I wake up all excited and have to get up and play with my craft goodies LOL!!!

But before we get the treat of our extra hour we are going to have the pleasure of Anice from Funky Hand gracing our TV screens.  She is going to be on the Create and Craft TV channel (Sky 671, Freeview 36 & Freesat 813) on Saturday 30th October at 11am, and then repeated a couple of times over the weekend.

Anice is demonstrating her two most recent CD ROMS from the Papercraft Factory range .. .. Dreams Come True and Colour Me Happy.. but the big deal is that Create and Craft are going to have an AMAZING price offer if you buy both CD ROMS together.

The DT were given the challenge of making some Christmas themed cards from the CD's .. .. which you might think is strange considering the CDs are not necessarily seen as containing Christmas papers.  But always up for a challenge we managed some lovely creations between us.

Below are a couple that I made and you never know you might be able to spot them on the TV tomorrow .. .. only "might" though because the DT as a whole created so many samples I am sure Anice won't get chance to show them all. So just in case you don't see them .. .. I will share them here.

Both of these creations were made using the Colour Me Happy CD (and my trusty sewing machine) .. .. though I have pinched the Alpha-Bits from a Funky download and the Happy Christmas sentiment too.

Don't worry though .. .. the downloads are going to be going on sale over the weekend over on the website.. .. a giant 25% off!!  Woo hoo!!  You can see them all here.

So I had a lovely night with my Sis last night and I have now had my "short back and sides" haircut.  Some might call it a "summer cut"  LOL!!!

I love it when I have had my hair cut .. .. it makes me feel so much more human .. .. which can only be a good thing .. .. and saves me loads of time in getting ready in a morning!!

Have a happy Friday everyone.

ARE SOCK UNDERWEAR? - DISCUSS

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all had a good day.

Mine has moved along really well and I have got lots of orders and DT work crossed off my white board .. .. .. always a good feeling.

Today I wanted to make a bit of a "fun" Christmas card using a sentiment that I bought from Elzybells closing down sale.   It really amused me and it was one I just had to have.

The sentiment says "When you stop believing in Santa Claus you get underwear for Christmas!"

So my dilema .. .. .. do socks constitute underwear?

I couldn't decide so thought I would give it a "google".  Not a good thing to google .. .. and I just hope my hubby doesn't go into my history files on my computer or he will be wondering what I have been doing!!!  I certainly clicked quickly off one site that came up .. .. ..  there were items that I have certainly never seen my lovely hubby wearing .. .. .. LOL!!!!

Can you believe that there are even blogs discussing the subject???  But there was no fixed conclusion.  LOL!!

Anyway in the end I decided there were socks in my stamp set so I would use them .. .. underwear or not!!

After all that .. .. .. here is my "fun" creation

This used:

Underwear:  Woodware Clear Stamps "FRCL132" Looking Good
Sentiment:  Elzybells
Backing Paper:  Pink Petticoat
Underwear Papers:  Funky Hand and Pink Petticoat
Cuttlebug Die:  Snowflakes
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Glamour Dust
Star Dust Stickles

This stamp set is great for using up the old scraps .. .. .. .. if I made about 6 million cards like this then my scrap paper drawer could be seriously reduced LOL!!  I really enjoyed cutting all the little boxer shorts out .. .. aren't I sad?!?!?!?   (No need to reply .. .. I know the answer to that one already).

Might not get to visit much tonight .. .. my lovely Sis and her partner are coming round for dinner and a bath .. .. yes you read it right .. .. a bath.  Their boiler is broken and I have volunteered them a "pamper evening"  -  plus I get to have my hair cut!!   Yay!!!

Catch you all when I do.

TONIGHT MATTHEW I AM GOING TO BE THE COLOUR PURPLE

Hi Everyone

I didn't want to scare you away by giving this post the title of .. .. yet another Christmas card .. .. so I decided to tempt you with the colour purple instead LOL!!!

Here is my little share of the day:

This used:

Image:  Hampton Art "RS4817" Group Of Presents
Backing Papers:  Papermania
Sentiment:  "Happy Christmas" =
:  HobbyArt Clear Stamps "Christmas Greeting Set"
Sentiment:  "Just For You" = Pink Petticoat
Cuttlebug Snowflake Die
ProMarkers
Glamour Dust
Diamond Stickles

So that is my quick share for the day.  Nothing earth shattering but I am happy with it!!

My turn to create a culinary delight tonight so I am off to get that prepared ahead of The Apprentice (woo hoo) .. .. ..  and a jump around blogland to see what you have all been up to.

Have a lovely evening whatever you are up to.

Hi Everyone

Sorry but you have to suffer another Christmas card today LOL!!

Have a good evening everyone.

BEE CRAFTY CHALLENGE #3

Hi Everyone

I am a bit earlier today .. .. .. lots to fit into today so I thought I would share a creation with you nice and early.. .. .. ..  plus, if you have time, it will give you more time to play along with the challenge if you fancy the look of it.

Beautiful weather here.  It started with a nice crisp frost which has disappeared to leave sunshine and a lovely blue sky .. .. but a bit of a cold breeze.

My share today is for a challenge which has only recently started.  The Bee Crafty Challenge.  I didn't get the chance to play along last week .. .. but this week there is a lovely sketch to follow.  I don't know about you but I love working to sketches.  It removes some of the thinking for me LOL!!!

Here is my creation

and this is the sketch which needed following (of course I could have flipped it but I loved it just the way it was).

My card used:

Image: Penny Black "3917J" Welcome PartySentiment:
Great Impressions "B154" From All of Us
Sentiment: Woodware Clear Stamps "FRCL031" Traditional Christmas
Backing Papers: Pink Petticoat
ProMarkers
Star Dust Stickles
Josy Rose: Nail Heads
Cord from the stash box

So that is me for today.

Have a lovely Sunday.  Hopefully I will get chance to do a bit of blog visiting this evening and see what you have all been up to.

I'VE GONE A BIT PASTEL

Hi Everyone

I hope your weekend is going well.

I have been busy making Christmas cards (surprise, surprise) and I was having a quick look through what I had been doing to decide what kind I needed more of when I suddenly realised nearly everything had the colour red as the main focus.  Eeek ... .. that won't suit everyone so time to hit the pastels.

So here is my Christmas pastel creation:

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "1873H" Xmouse Ornament!
Backing Papers and Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Martha Stewart Punches:  "Star" and "Frond"
Josy Rose:  Gems
Glamour Dust
Star Dust Stickles
Ribbon and cord from the stash box

I think he looks quite sweet!!

I have been experimenting with my photography as my pictures have been coming out rubbish since the nights have been drawing in .. .. .. even getting decent ones in the day has been near impossible.

So I have constructed a work of art on my craft desk which involves the propping up of A3 white card and a daylight bulb in an angle poise lamp.  I think they look a bit better but if you knock the desk accidentally it all falls to pieces LOL!!.

My lovely hubby is going to try and contruct a little "photo booth" for me using an old cardboard box and my white card so that I can actually angle the booth towards the window and catch more daylight.  We shall see how it goes.  If it seems successful I will post a photo .. .. but I will let you be the judge once the construction is complete and I have tried some more shots.

OK then .. .. off to make a few more makes ahead of X-Factor!!

Oh I love Saturdays!!!

Just a quick reminder too that you still have a week left to take part in the monthly challenges for "Get Funky!" and "Penny Black at Allsorts".  On my sidebar you will see what the challenges are for this month .. .. just click on the label to be taken to the challenge blog and see the full rules etc.  Hope to see you there.

STAR OF WONDER - STAR OF LIGHT

Hi Everyone

A bit of an experimental day for me today .. .. and I have ended up with a creation I am really pleased with .. .. but can't photograph LOL!!!

I have tried a few times but no matter what I do I cannot get a shot I am truly happy with.  Once you see it you will understand why.  it looks beautiful in real life but it is hard to capture the magic because of the acetate.

This card has used items I have never used before but I have really enjoyed playing with.

Here is the culprit card

This used:

Image:  Inca Stamp "In119-D" Wise Men
Sentiment:  Computer Generated
Backing Papers:  Bearly Mine (new to me but well worth a look - these papers came from the Christmas Delight download and it is a beautiful set)
Acetate
Crafty Notions Gilding Flakes (Variegated Green)
Crafty Notions Double Sided Adhesive Sheet
Sizzix Die:  "Stars #2"
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Distress Ink:  Tea Dye
Diamond Stickles

This was the first time I have used the gilding flakes and when I opened the little tub it looked like I had hardly any to play with .. .. but once the air got in I had loads and loads LOL!!  (Now why can't the little wallet I keep my crafty stash money in be like that?!?!?!?).

I stamped my image onto the acetate using black Stazon and left it to dry.  I cut a piece of the double sided adhesive sheet (big enough to cover the whole of my acetate image) and peeled off one of the backing sheets and stuck this on the back of my acetate image.

Next I removed the second backing sheet which left me with a very sticky acetate image.  This I covered in the gilding flakes.  I pressed lots and lots onto the back and then used a small brush and my fingers to remove all the excess flakes.

I have done four of these images in this way and have hardly made a hole in my flakes and I certainly won't get them all back into the original little tub.  Thank goodness for plastic Chinese takeaway boxes that's all I can say!! LOL!!

OK - back to finish my other Wise Men cards.

I hope you likey, likey.

Have a lovely evening.

STAR DANCE

Hi Everybody

I hope you have all had a good day.  Bit of a cold start today don't you think?

Sorted out my "J" key.  Gave my keyboard a blast with the can of compressed air and along with rather a lot of dust and hair flew out the biggest crumb .. .. .. how on earth it fitted in there in the first place I have no idea!!  But judging by the amount of mess that came out I think I should clean it a bit more often!!  Mucky girl!!

Back to sharing a Christmas card today .. ..

This one used:

Image:  Penny Black "3737J" Star Dance
Backing Paper:  Pink Petticoat
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Josy Rose:  Star Nail Heads
Glamour Dust
Star Dust Stickles
Ribbon, cord and brad from the stash box

I drew just very thin lines with a fine glue pen and sprinkled with the glamour dust to give the wreath just a tiny bit of sparkle.

I think you can just about make it out from the photographs.

Well what did my fellow bloggers think to The Apprentice?  What was the woman team leader like?  At the start she was so insistent on being team leader saying "this is my bag" that I thought she was going to be a real star and the challenge was going to be right up her street  .. .. .. I know from her experience it should have been .. .. but it just shows how people can "talk the talk" but not necessarily "walk the walk".  I shouldn't really pick fault though because I couldn't do any better.

OK .. .. back to more Christmas cards.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE

Hi Everyone

I am a bit earlier today as I am off to sit with my Mum for a while this afternoon (and have another natter and Christmas image colouring session) .. .. and by the time I get back again I will be falling into Mr Blogger's "maintenance downtime" when we won't be able to up-load our images .. .. so here I am.

If there are any dodgy spellings in this post then I am having a bit of a problem with my keyboard.  For some reason the letter "J" isn't working properly.  For a guess there is something underneath the key that shouldn't be there .. .. I need to find the can of compressed air and give it a blast and stand back to see what flies out!!

A little digress because that has just reminded me of a time when my late MIL was having problems printing from her computer.  She telephoned to speak to us in the hope we could talk her through putting right what the problem might be .. .. .. sadly we couldn't sort it so went round the next day .. .. taking our printer with us as we knew she had urgent things to print out.  We spent a while going through set ups etc but no - it still wouldn't work.

I removed the paper that was in the printer (it was one where the paper dropped into a back feeder) and tried to load it with fresh paper.  For some reason it wouldn't re-load.  Closer inspection of the paper feeder revealed a whole "extra strong mint" - lodged into the mechanism!!

I managed to tip it out and Mum said "Oh, that's where it went" LOL!!!  We had such a laugh and for quite a while afterwards too .. .. .. I don't think there is an extra strong mint under my "J" key though?!?!?!?.

Anyway, back to it ....

Beautiful day today but for some reason my photographs have been coming out rubbish with a blue tinge to them.  I tried a few locations but have ended up just lying them flat on top of stash on my work desk!!  They have come out best of all so that is what I have gone for!!

I wanted to enter the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week as Debbie has produced a really lovely sketch for entrants to follow.  It was lovely to work with Debbie and will be going in my "sketch folder" so I don't forget how nice it was to use.

Here is my creation

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "1444K" Hedgehog Bouquet
Backing Papers:  Cuddly Buddly Download "Little Miss Daisy Spring 2"
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
ProMarkers
Button and Ribbon from the stash box

Here is Debbie's lovely sketch

Great sketch and I love the little hedgehog image from Penny Black.  It is useful for so many occassions, birthdays, get well wishes, congratulations, Mothers Day and even "sorry"!!!

Well I am quite well ahead of myself.  Posting done for the day and a lovely  cottage pie made ready for just putting into the oven when I get back from Mum's .. .. and then my treat of the week .. .. The Apprentice.

Catch you all again soon and a very big welcome to my new followers .. .. I hope you like what you see when you visit (but be warned .. .. I can ramble on a bit as you have probably already worked out LOL!!).

WELL THE WEATHER "WAS" NICE

Hi Everyone

I think I jinxed the weather this morning when I posted about how lovely the sunshine was today.

Not long after that it started to rain and it hasn't really stopped much since.  Sorry about that !!  LOL!!!

Here is one of my creations of the day.

This used:

Image:  Woodware "JGCL504" Christmas Bubble Tree
Sentiment:  Woodware:  "JGCL529" Tipsy Tree
Backing Paper:  Sorry I don't know .. .. it is some old Christmas stash that I have from way back when it didn't matter who made what
Hobbycraft Punch:  Snowflake
Gold Embossing Powder
ProMarkers
Glamour Dust
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Star Dust Stickles
Ribbon and Eyelet from the stash box

The second photograph was taken at a bit of a strange angle but I wanted you to be able to see the gold embossing.

I hope you all have a good evening.  I will catch you again tomorrow .. .. and I promise to give you a break from Christmas cards and post something different LOL!!.

I WAS A BIT NAUGHTY YESTERDAY

Hi Everyone

I was a little bit naughty yesterday and posted yesterday's creation without you being able to see a heart .. .. ..  with the intention of sending the first person to notice it was missing a little prize (though part of me wondered whether anyone would actually notice).  If anyone managed to find one then you did very well indeed LOL!!!

The idea of offering a prize was as thank you to everyone who has taken the trouble to visit and comment on my blog when I put blogland "out of bounds" whilst preparing for the craft fair of the century (not).

Originally I was going to do a random org. thingy on all of the people who commented over the various days but it just got too complicated for my tiny little brain and was taking far too long .. .. I have cards to make!!!!

So thank you to everyone who visited - I did appreciate it.  Keep those eyes peeled - I might do this again as I quite enjoyed being naughty!!!

Anyway .. .. ..

Here is my card as it should have been shown yesterday with the heart on the bottom left of the image panel:

and here is the prize that one eagle eyed person has won  -  it includes some of my favourite things .. .. ribbons, charms and buttons.

This goes to Lesley at Crafty Love n Hugs who commented at 23.45 last night to say:

Okay then, Love the card but ............. where is the heart?!?! Do I need glasses? I bet it's staring me in the face, Lol!

I do love the Henry mouse images Jules. He's just so cute. I don't buy many 'cute' stamps but there was one last year where Henry was holding a big bauble and it sold out everywhere I looked. I was really miffed I couldn't get it, Lol! Those backing papers are lovely too, such a gorgeous colour.

Hugs
Lesley Xx

So I know that at least one person does actually look for my hearts!!  LOL!!!  (Thank you Lesley xx)  I hope you will like your little prize and will find a use for it all.

I was hoping to have got around to visiting everyone last night in my blogland catch up but sadly I made it about a quarter of the way round where I wanted to go.  How much did you all do during my time away?  Blogland must have gone hyper-active.  It was lovely reading everyone's news.  Some of you have been doing some amazing things, some had good news to share and sadly some of you have been a bit "under the weather" - I hope you poorly blog mates are feeling a bit better today.

I will be back later with another creation and will carry on my blogland catch up this evening.

Have a lovely day everyone.  I have sunshine here!

BACK TO THE CHRISTMAS CARDS

Hi Everyone

Well I haven't let the disappointment of yesterday dampen my spirits .. .. I am back on track with my Christmas cards.

But before I could play I needed to "find the house" again.  I did next to nothing housework wise last week and had practically taken over the whole of the house with my crafty mess.  Even the kitchen had craft stuff in it .. . so today I decided it was time to take it all back upstairs again and give my lovely hubby his home back.

I have lost count of the number of times I have ran up and down the stairs today LOL!!!

Things are still not all back where they should be but I couldn't stop myself having a little play and made this little creation using one of the images I sat and coloured at the craft fair yesterday.

This used:

Image:  Whiff of Joy "Skating Henry"
Sentiment:  Magnolia "HV08" Ticket - A Merry Christmas
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
Martha Stewart Punch:  Stars
Flowers and Leaves:  Prima
ProMarkers
Glamour Dust

So tonight I am going to treat myself to a good old blog hop and catch up to see what you have all been up to.

WHAT A RUBBISH DAY WAS HAD BY ONE AND ALL!!!

Hi Everyone

Well here I am back from my craft fair .. .. .. it was rubbish !!  :-(

I can't  believe all the effort I have put into preparing to come away with not even covering the cost of my table .. .. I was £3.50 short!!  But that was good compared to some - others never even sold a thing.  We paid a bit more than we normally do thinking that the venue would attract more visitors.

It had been well advertised but perhaps the weather was so nice that folks decided to do other things.  Having said that though they were charging for people to get in and we all thought that was really bad.

The place was rather short of visitors but there were a couple of special people I met.

The first was my lovely blog buddy Shell from The Camels Hump.  It was great to meet her for the first time and her lovely family  -  I was really touched that she made the effort to come and say hello as I know that she hasn't been feeling well for quite a while now.  (Thanks Shell  xx).

The second was a smashing lady called Julie-Ann who came talking with me.  We stood and discussed all things crafty and it turned out that this lovely lady owns her very own craft store .. ... lucky Julie!!!

It is called Bee Crafty in Worcestershire.  Such a lovely lady and she was very positive and encouraging (I was despairing a little at this point LOL!!).

Julie also mentioned that they have just started up a new challenge blog so if anyone is in the mood for a challenge you will find one here.  Julie was so friendly I thought it would be nice if I could get a few entries into the challenge for her.  Not sure if I will get chance to play this week Julie .. .. but I promise to play another week.

OK .. .. time to have a lovely long soak in a hot bath of bubbles and then pick myself up, brush myself down and start all over again!!  (There is a song in there somewhere LOL!!!).

We had a really early start this morning .. .. alarms at 6.00am .. .. and my little eyes are shutting.  Best be careful in that bath!!!

At least I have lots of stock to share amongst the folk who have been asking for boxes!! LOL!!!

Back to blogland tomorrow night and a big catch up on what everyone has been up to whilst I have been preparing for the craft fair of the century!!

Here's to the next one!!

FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS

Hi Everyone

Well this might be my last make ahead of the fair tomorrow.

I now need to get a few inserts into all of my makes of today and check that all the cards I am taking have their little trademark heart LOL!!

I love this little stamp.  I picked it up second hand from my local craft shop for £2.00 !!!

I resisted the temptation to colour in all of the little windows .. .. but might not next time.

This used:

Image:  PSX "F-2104"  - no name on the stamp but I think it is called "Snowy Village"
Sentiment:  Hobby Art Clear "CS010D" Town House Scene-its
Nestabilites:  Heart
Glamour Dust
Diamond Stickles
Cord from the stash box

I will catch up with you all again tomorrow night with an up-date on our day.  My Sister will be arriving soon - we are going to have a Chinese take-away and then she is sleeping over as we have an early start in the morning.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

PEACE ON EARTH

Hi Everyone

I am a bit earlier today.

Have been getting everything ready for Sunday so now lots of things are piled up in the hallway ready for loading in the car on Sunday morning.

I decided if I got everything ready today I can then spend tomorrow double checking that all of my creations have got their heart and doing any last minute makes I can pull together.

Here is one of my creations from today's collection .. .. .. it took me ages to colour (not) LOL!!!

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "3907J" A wish for all time
Ribbon:  Hobbycraft
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
Dressmakers Tracing Wheel

I really love the ribbon on this one.  I bought it to make some wedding invitation samples .. .. but have stolen a bit for this creation.

No stitching today - but if you look at the "close up" you can just about make out where I have used a tracing wheel to add a bit of extra interest.

So that is me for today .. .. .. 3 more evenings and then I will be let loose on blogland again.  You wouldn't believe how much more I have got made by not blog hopping  - or then again perhaps you would .. .. .. it does eat up your time without you realising doesn't it!!

Have a good evening everyone.

Catch you tomorrow.

Love
