My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

SEWING ROOM

Hi Everyone

Are you all a bit chilly or is it just me?!?!?!?

Long sleeves and a big sloppy cardigan were needed today!!

The weather had better buck its ideas up for the weekend.  We would like lovely bright sunshine for the Festival (pretty please!).

Today has been a very productive day on the wedding front .. .. part of which involved cutting mountboard to fit into a frame for a table plan.

I was left with some leftover strips of the mountboard which I decided would be brilliant for die cutting as the dies would be nice and rigid .. .. so out came one of my favourite dies to test the theory on and I was right .. .. a brilliant die just perfect for dressing up:

This used:

Sentiment:  New from Pink Petticoat "Happy Birthday Sentiments" (have been waiting for these beauties and stalking the boutique waiting for their appearance LOL!!)
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat "New Colour Palette Up-date
Sizzix Die "657186" Sewing Room
Distress Ink:  Tea Dye
Ribbons, button and pearls from the Stash Box

Not much of an ingredient list .. .. but it has resulted in a card I am happy with.

We had a lovely evening yesterday celebrating our youngest Son's birthday .. .. thank you for all the birthday wishes for him.  I passed them on and he says "thank you".

I have been up in the roof this evening passing down stuff to my hubby that I need to take to the Festival.  Still plenty to do .. .. but me being me I would never be satisfied no matter how much I had to take.  There definitely won't be as many cards to take as previous years .. .. weddings have taken pole position .. .. which is only right!

Catch you again tomorrow.

Off to cut hubby's hair now!

Love

I think this is peachy! I'm trying to work out how you have affixed the skirt. Is it under the ribbon? The ribbon looks so smooth that I can't work it out and its fabulous, Jules. I want to make one just like it! Hugs, Lesley

Oh Jules you are amazing, not only do you create fabulous cards you even cut hubby's hair? I often joke to mine (while clipping our pooches) that if waits in line I'll do his too but he never takes up the offer lol!
Cheers,
Elaine

Talk about the frozen north.... I've put the heater on in the craftie space and am sitting here wearing socks! SOCKS!!!! Only 7 more 'sleeps' to go before flight to the sunshine.. thank goodness! And talking of cold, this dress form needs a cardi cos if she's as cold as me her body will be all goose-pimply! LOL Another great card Jules. x

Fab card. You've dressed the dummy die perfectly and that sentiment is lovely. No wonder you've been itching to get hold of it. I went into a 'wedding' shop yesterday - just to have a look round. I was gobsmacked at all that goes into a wedding these days.So much bling everywhere and loads of stuff I'd never even heard of.

Apparently we're to have hot weather at the weekend, so don't dig out the thermals yet!!

What a fab card, the dress makes me think of 1950s New Look fashions! Best of luck getting ready for the Festival!

And even more good luck wishes for cutting hubby's hair - mine INSISTS on going to the barber's even though I have a set of clippers! Men, eh??!
