A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

A CARD IN UNDER TEN MINUTES

Hi Everyone

I hope you have been having a good weekend.

We have had very mixed weather that has included sunshine and the occasional snow flurry!

I came across a new challenge yesterday thanks to Fiona's lovely blog here.

The challenge is the "As You See It" Challenge .. .. .. .. and the theme is to make a card in under 10 minutes using the word "blossoms" for inspiration.. .. .. I thought it sounded fun and decided to have a go.

I knew exactly what I was doing before I started and had everything set out on my desk ready for action,  (taking my inspiration from a lovely birthday card I received).

Pressing the stopwatch on my phone, this is what I achieved in 8 minutes 53 seconds.

This used:

Image:  Penny Black Stencil "25-013" Luster
Sentiment:  Wow!  "STAMPSET33" Big Words
Distress Ink Pads:  Worn Lipstick, Bundled Sage and Shabby Shutters
Clear Embossing Powder
X-Cut Corner Rounding Punch
My Trusty Sewing Machine

I really had fun with this challenge .. .. perhaps I should set myself a time limit on every card I make to speed me along and stop me faffing!!!  LOL!!!

Enjoy what is left of the weekend and I hope the new week is kind to you .. .. .. anyone booked in for a haircut this week (besides Boris)?

A lovely card Jules and a great idea to set a time limit to make a card. I often prefer the ones that have come together quickly to those I faff with for ages!

Lovely card. Reckon you need to be well organised to make a card in such a short time especially if using up oddments although if you are allowed to have everything assembled before setting the timer it could work. For me much of the fun is the 'faffing' - going through the mountain of 'bits' to find all the components. Hope you have a good week.

A perfect thank you card Jules and amazing you've made it in under 10 mins even with your beautiful stitching. I must admit it is the planning of the card that often takes more time than the actual making with me x

Wow what a stunning make in under ten minutes. I can see that you would have to be very organised to achive this though. Maybe not the challenge for me and my messy craft room then.

I'm lucky to have a daughter who is our bubble who used to have her own hairdressing business so we've not suffered with Covid hair

Preparation is key for a speed challenge for sure Jules and you absolutely nailed it with this beautiful creation! That stencil is so pretty and I love the addition of the clear embossing and stitched border too. Go you! Thanks so much for playing along with us over at As You See It this week - we would love you to come and play again soon (don't worry, our challenges rotate so it's not speed stamping every week!!) And yes, I'm off to the hairdressers on Thursday and am so excited - even I look like Boris now!!!!

Wonderful card. The weather has been crazy. Woke up to a layer of hail everywhere and then a bit of snow. The rest of the day was sunshine. Have a great week. Anesha x

Absolutely lovely Jules, I would definitely need to have everything planned out to make a card in less than 10 minutes and wouldn't manage such beautifully neat stitching.

So very pretty! I like the soft, stencilled look of the roses and that you've added some shine with embossing powder. I'm glad you've discovered us - thank you for playing along with us at As You See It Challenge.

Oooh how lovely.....speedy without compromising any of your usual style, like the trademark stitching!

Haircut booked for Friday, which I have been so looking forward to, however I have been warming to length of my hair so just going for a tidy up and get some layers cut in....oh, and some attention to my unwanted little grey guests too

My word you are Superwoman Jules!! It takes me 8 minutes and 53 seconds to decide what card blank to use!! This is a really lovely card and the clear embossing makes those blooms look really luscious. Yes, what strange weather, we had great big hailstones, followed by brilliant sunshine...weird!! xx

Wow! Look at the beauty you created in under 10 minutes!! I love coral so you had me at that, but to clear emboss it too was another layer of awesomeness! Thanks for getting your adrenaline flowing with us at As You See It Challenges!

WOWZERS!! It absolutely blows my mind that you can stencil and stitch and heat emboss AND make it all come together so beautifully in under 10 minutes! It just goes to show you how having a solid plan and being organized is the key to a quick card! I love stitching on cards. I need to have my sewing machine set up somewhere in my stamp room ready to go with white thread so I can whip up a stitched border like this. Just gorgeous! Thanks for inspiring us at the As You See It Challenge Blog!
