Hi Everyone
Happy Monday .. .. .. I hope you all had a good weekend and all the Dads enjoyed their special day.
I needed to get up bright and early to clear the dining room table (yet again) ready for our youngest Son coming to celebrate the day with his Dad .. .. unfortunately the London Kids weren't able to be here but we had a good catch up on Facetime!
We can't wait for the day to arrive when we will all be together again. It feels like a lifetime since we were.
A while back (in the good old days) I was fortunate to visit the offices of Immediate Media and whilst there got to sit in on a pre-issue planning meeting. One set of cards that really stuck in my mind used a technique called "retiform".
I thought about the technique over the weekend and decided to give it a go for the background of my card. Not too bad for a first attempt.

Well this is very clever...retiform?....big word...what does it mean...need to google that. Anyway lovely and unusual background and all your colours go so well together and set off the rabbit in the middle perfectly. He looks like he has been caught in the headlights!...lol . xx
A fantastic technique Jules, the inked panels with tone on tone stamping form a wonderful background for the hare, the border die cut and flowers a great finishing touch. Was so taken with this I almost missed the base card with the heart paper.Hope you have a lovely week.
Well this is a technique completely new to me - must do a little research!! Loving the effect and the hare is gorgeous.
I've never heard of fetiform but heck it makes a wonderful background and one I might have to store in the grey matter... sweet shocked looking bunny, I like him :)
Super card Jules, take care x

Not sure what retiform is, but it looks good to me, another lovely card Jules x
Lovely card, Jules. I've always been fond of retiform but have never seen it used purely as background like this before. Lovely masculine colours too. Thank you for joining us at As You See It Challenge.
Great card Jules and a technique I've not seen before, it makes a fabulous background

A super card, I like the look of this technique. I need to find some time to play. Elaine
I've never tried retiform or seen it used like this as a background in a scene but I love it Jules - it's so effective. I feel like I need to do more research on this and give it a go! Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It for our current challenge!
Wow, what a fabulous card, never heard of retiform before, must search for it and try it ! Hugs, Enny

Very cool background technique, Jules, and that hare is an interesting focal point as well. Thanks for joining us to apply the "Y" at As You See It Challenges, Jules!
Oh yes...retiform! I remember that from long ago! It is certainly nicely done here, I love the colors and all the little additions you put with them! FUN bunny too! Thanks for playing along at As You See It this week!
I can imagine that you can't wait until the day arrives so you all can be together once again! I don't know what I'd do without Bret being around. Hope Father's Day was a good one for the Mister.
I've not ever heard of this "retiform" so will have to Google it. But your card is amazing, that background looks so cool looking and of course the hare is so stinkin' cute. His expression just makes me smile. A fabulous card for sure!!
Hugs,
Brenda
