My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

WOW, WOW AND MORE WOW's

Hi Everyone

Where do I start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been really, really lucky and won the blog candy from Enfys's blog. I just can't believe it .. .. it is fantastic.

We are in the middle of a big clear up session ahead of a plumber coming to replace my poorly boiler with a new one (which also involves removing and replacing some radiators). My world and every room in the house is going to be upside down for the whole week!!!

My hubby sat down at the computer to sort something out so I decided I would take the opportunity to have a breather and a quick look at my emails.

Wow of wow's I can't believe it. I am going to get the rest of the clearing up done in record time because I am on cloud nine.

I was already happy but now I am beside myself and my tummy is all giggly.

Thank you Enfys so very, very much.

A SPECIAL CARD FOR MY HUBBY PLUS AN AWARD

Hi Everyone

I have had a brilliant day today - I managed to get a card order finished and posted off.

I then decided that I would make my hubby a special card to show him how much he means to me - and to thank him for never getting cross with me.

We spent all of Saturday morning trying to re-arrange the holiday he booked on Friday. We managed it "eventually" - which now means I will still be able to do the festival in Melbourne. This is a two day event and one where last year my cards were really popular. I met some lovely people last year and didn't want to miss it this year! I had a fantastic time.

So this is the card I made especially for my lovely hubby

To make this card I used:

Image: Hero Arts S 5161 "Country Hearts
Sentiment: Computer generated
Promarkers
Inkssentials: Glossy Accents and Crackle Accents
Crystal Stickles
Sticky Gems

I tried hard to make all the hearts different and decorated them with different things - hence the Inkssentials.

This was the first time that I had used the Crackle Accents. I thought that the effect might have been a bit more "defined" than it was - but if it "crackles" further I will take another picture for you to see. It could be that I am just being impatient as usual (I get that from my Mum).

Yes, patience is a virtue - this morning the "crackle" was much more defined
(so I have added another photo - in fact I replaced the main photo too as it was much brighter this morning. As I took my picture last night there were great thunder clouds darkening the sky .. .. .. not very good for taking pictures really)

I love the Hero Art stamp. (I can't imagine why). It was in the sale at The Glitter Pot and I "just had to have it". But when it came it was huge .. .. .. as you can tell. I didn't realise I was getting this much for my money!!!! Yay!!!

So my three days in the office start tomorrow. It feels like ages since I was there last .. .. even though it is only four days! I am going to miss my craft room more than ever tomorrow!

Today I have also received a blog award from Little Bear - thank you Clare. As recipient of this award I have to list 10 honest things about myself. Oh dear .. .. I am going to have to work on this one Clare - my list reached at least 20 in next to no time. I need to thin it down. LOL!!!

Take care everyone. I hope it hasn't been too difficult for you to find the heart tonight. LOL!!!

Catch you again soon.

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - WEEK 55

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone has been having a lovely weekend.

Mine has been spent gardening and taking rubbish to the tip!! Oh I know how to live it up don't I??

But once the chores were finished I had chance to create my card for the Penny Black Challenge this week.

The challenge this week is to work to a sketch.

Here is the sketch

Here is my creation

This used:

Image: Penny Black "3786F Crush"
Papers: Pink Petticoat "His N Hers Collection"
Sentiment: Woodware "FRCL009 Must Have Retro Words"
Ribbon: Celebrate - Ribbon by the Spool
Flowers: X Cut punches
Promarkers
Craftime: Ultra fine glitter
Sticky Gems
Diamond Stickles

I really like this sketch.. .. .. I am sure I will use it again.

Thanks for calling by. Enjoy the rest of Sunday!

FRIDAY NIGHT IS HERE AGAIN!!! YEAH!!!

Hi Everyone

Well .. .. Friday night is here again with the promise of a weekend of fun (I hope).

Although really Thursday night should now be my Friday night because my days at work have changed.

I now have the super luxury of a four day weekend!!! Wow .. .. how much crafting is that???? I am in the office three days a week and home for four! Heaven.

But because my hubby doesn't finish work until Friday night things will stay the same. We will still celebrate the weekend on a Friday night with hubby's special cooking treat.

Though I am in rather bad books tonight. Hubby found a fantastic holiday place and booked it tonight and we have just realised that one of the weekends it spans is a local Craft Festival weekend .. .. one that I take part in over two days. I have announced that "I can't miss the Festival!!!".

I think I am forgiven .. .. .. hubby knows how much it means to me .. .. .. we just need to find some more dates for the holiday that fit in with everything else that is happening.

Over to tonight's creation:

This was made using:

Image: Stamposaurus "Large Tractor" from Apple Blossom Farm
Image: Inca Stamps "470-AA Sheep
Backing Paper: The English Paper Company and Laura Ashley
Punches: Woodware Inverted Corner Rounder and Fiskars heart punch
Sentiment: Woodware FRCL079 "Male Relatives"
Promarkers and chalks for colouring
Hot Fix metal studs

This card is also for the lady who ordered the "Goth" creation I showed earlier this week. I am sure you can guess that this card is for her brother who is a farmer. She loved the Goth card - hopefully she will love this too.

I hope everyone has a brilliant weekend .. .. I am now off to make amends with my hubby!!!!

Thanks for calling by

PASSION FOR PROMARKERS - CHALLENGE 5

Hi Everyone

Sorry I wasn't around to play yesterday. I was being a good girl and helped hubby to clear some of the garage ready for having a new boiler mounted on the wall in there. Lots of sorting, throwing out and moving of freezers and tumble driers needed to be done. Our garage has become a dumping ground and we need to make amends!!!

After the "sort-out" a bath was the order of the day (and a couple of G & T's !!!) and then I cooked garlic prawn and tuna pasta and settled down for an hour with hubby. (Sadly I was still crafting in my head though!!! LOL!!!).

I had crafting withdrawal symptoms when I woke up this morning so I got up extra early and made the following card before I went to work. I tried to photograph and post it before I left but bummer of bummers - my camera battery suddenly went flat and needed charging. So my little creation had to patiently sit and wait to make its appearance.

This card is my entry into the Passion for Promarker Challenge blog and needs to predominently use the colours "Meadow Green" and "Lemon".

This creation used:

Of course .. .. .. Meadow Green and Lemon Promarkers
Image: Stampendous! M214 "Bloom Swirl"
Backing Paper: Free with a magazine
Brad: Kaiser Scrapbook SB1141 "Peek-A-Boo" (This was a prize from the Allsorts Challenge blog)
Craftime: Ultra fine glitter
Ribbon from Hobbycraft

I am quite pleased with my photographs today. I think I am slowly getting the hang of my new camera.

Can I also thank everyone who commented on my "Goth dilema" card - what a wonderful band of blog pals you are. Your help and comments were very much appreciated. I now feel much more confident in passing my creation over.

TELL IT TO ME STRAIGHT!!!

Hi Everyone

Some help needed tonight please. I have been asked to make a birthday card for a Goth.

According to my son because of the recipients choice in music it makes them a "Punky Goth".

Way out of my depth here .. .. .. the only Goth's I know are the ones that appeared in Coronation Street!!

Anyway, I have created the following. Does this count???!?!?! Is this a good Goth card? Please let me know. It is for a 19 - 20 year old female to receive from her Auntie.

To make this card I have used:

Image: Digi download from Charmed Cards "Holly & Madison"
Backing paper: Funky Hand "Salt and Pepper" download
Sentiment: Computer generated
Fiskars small heart punch
Nail Heads from Josy Rose

Come on then bloggy mates .. .. .. .. is the recipient going to be pleased?

Is there anything else I can add? Is it too bright and not black enough?

Please tell!!

Love the Holly & Madison download .. .. there are lots of images in the download suitable for many different occassions .. .. .. .. .. oh I can remember when my waist looked like that!!! (Many, many years ago I hasten to add).

PENNY BLACK - WEEK 54

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all enjoying Father's day.

I know (like me) lots of you no longer have your special Dad physically alongside you today .. .. but they will always be in our hearts, memories and dreams.

As sad as it is for them not to be with us, we just have to be grateful that we had father's that were special and meant so much to us for the time they were here. (It has taken me a long time to reach this level of acceptance though but thankfully I have - I love and miss my Dad so much).

My hubby and son liked the Father's day card I made the other evening and hubby is currently watching a film that our eldest son and his wife sent him as a present .. .. the new James Bond film. Once this is finished we are off out for an Indian meal. Only an hour or so before we set off .. .. .. I'm starving!!!

Whilst hubby watched his film I made my Penny Black Challenge card for this week. The theme was embossing.

Here is what I created:

This used:

Image: Penny Black 2076J "Roses for You"
Sentiment: Hero Arts C2702 "Bouquet of Good Wishes"
Backing paper: Sizzix Little Sizzles "Country"
Cuttlebug embossing folder: "Script"
Nestablities: Circles and Large Scalloped Circles
Ribbon: From the lovely lady at our local market
Promarker Pens

Well that is it for today folks - thanks for calling by.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

ALLSORTS CHALLENGE 6

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Here is my entry to the Allsorts Challenge where the theme is "Wings".

You need to dig your "winged" images out folks because there is a mega prize on offer for the random org winner .. .. .. so "wing your way over there" and good luck everyone.

There are lots of butterfly cards flying about on lots of blogs at the moment so get them entered. You might win!!

Here is my entry:

To make this card I have used:

Images: Stamposaurus "Scarie" from the Apple Blossom Farm
Butterflies from Penny Black "Critter Party"
Backing paper: The English Paper Company
X Cut: Small Flower punch
Buttons and sticky dots froom the stash box
Straw: this was packaging in a present
Heart: a present from my great bloggy mate Jackie xx
Promarkers

So there we go "lots of wings" (just not very big ones).

I somehow don't think this cute little chappie is going to do much scaring.

FATHER'S DAY CARD

Hi Everyone

As promised I am a little earlier tonight and no Christmas card!!

Tonight is a card that I have made for my youngest son to give to his Dad (my lovely hubby) on Sunday. My youngest son doesn't live with us anymore :-( but I offered to make him a card and he set me a challenge for what he would like.

Basically - his Dad's football team colours - black, white and golden yellow.. .. .. .. .. though I feel I have invented a new team strip here. I couldn't resist adding a flash of red though as in the referee's "yellow and red cards".

Hopefully my son will approve of his card - if not then it will be another quick make tomorrow LOL!!

So here it is:

This card was made using:

Image: Woodware FRP012 "Footy Boy"
Sentiment: "The Best" was from Woodware FRCL079 "Male Relatives"
"DAD" was from a Great Impressions stamp
Background paper: Funky Fairy - Gorgeous Grids
Punches: Small circle and small label
Brad from my stash box and Promarkers

The Great Impressions stamp is really useful. It comprises of the whole of the alphabet and a few punctuation marks enclosed in circles. These punch out beautifully using the small circle punch.

So that is my post for tonight - Friday again!!! Yay!!!

Don't worry about my hubby seeing his Father's Day card. He won't have chance. It is his "busy in the kitchen" night and the poor chap won't have time to even sit down tomorrow let alone look at my blog. Shame.

Not to worry .. .. he can make up for it on Father's Day and be spoilt rotten.

Have a great weekend everyone.

WINTER WONDERLAND - WEEK 3

Hi Everyone

I am getting later and later in the day with my posting!!! Sorry folks - trying to fit too much into my evenings at the mo!

Tonight I have done my challenge card for Winter Wonderland - the theme is "Let it Snow".

This might be my favourite week as it has used my favourite stamp from last Christmas. The little snowmen!! I am surprised there was any impression left on the stamp as this was very "over worked" last Christmas (just like me LOL!!!).

So here is my creation:

To make this card I used:

Image: Whipper Snapper Designs BY802 "Let is Snow Snowmen"
Sentiment: Penny Black 3535F "Snowflakes"
Backing Paper: Pink Petticoat "Christmas Doodle Icious"
Cuttlebug "Large Snowflake"
Woodware Punch "Small Snowflake"
Brads, ribbons and sticky dots from my stash box
Promarkers

I hope you like my card and may I be the first to wish you all a "Happy Christmas" tee hee!!!! (I bet I am first aren't I? .. .. .. I am aren't I????).

I will try to be a bit earlier posting tomorrow on "Happy Friday" but don't worry it won't be a Christmas card.

Thanks for calling by.

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Hi Everyone

Back again .. .. this time with my Penny Black Challenge card.

It is Penny Black's first birthday so the challenge is to make a celebration card.

I chose my image because it is Penny Black's first birthday .. .. .. .. .. there is appropriately one candle on the birthday cake. I also added a "friends" gel sticker in the corner because everyone in Penny Black land is so super friendly .. .. and this is something to celebrate too.

Here is my creation

This used:

Image: Penny Black 3842K "cinnamon"
Stamps Happen 30023 "birthday candles"
Sentiment: Penny Black 2908F "to you"
Backing Paper: Funky Hand
Gems and Gel Sticker from my Polka Doodle prize
Special Heart: from my lovely Sis (thank you - love you xxx)
Promarker Pens
Diamond Stickles

and that is it. I hope you like my special heart.

My Sis came round for a Chinese and a sleepover on Saturday evening and brought me a whole pack of special hearts. She had seen them and "just had to buy them for me". (Isn't she lovely).

When I opened the hearts tonight they had a special smell. Not sure if you will know what I mean but they smelt like a "new doll".

It might not be the same now but when I was a child if you had a new doll it had a special smell and I used to "sniff" my new dolls head for ages .. .. .. well until the smell had gone away. I love the "new doll smell" and haven't experienced it for ages. Thanks Sis - shame you weren't around to share the sniffing session!! LOL!!!

Well now I have managed to convince everyone that I am very strange I will disappear.

ALLSORTS CHALLENGE 5

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone's Monday went well.

Just a quick post tonight with my entry for the Allsorts challenge. This week the theme was to include triangles in your creation.

So here is my creation

Not many ingredients:

Memory store papers from Costco
Woodware square punch
My trusty tiny Fiskars guillotine
A glue stick
A heart (not so easy to find tonight but not impossible)
An abundance of patience

So nothing cute tonight .. .. .. .. in fact I am begining to think I have been spending too long looking at tiles for the bathroom!!!! LOL!!

Have a good night everyone.

Thanks for calling by.

WINTER WONDERLAND CHALLENGE - WEEK 2

Hi Everyone

A little later than my normal Friday excitement - but here at last!!

Started off my evening in organisation mode. Lots to sort and clear out before we can have a new boiler fitted in our garage and a new bathroom upstairs. (Hopefully it will be worth all the mess we are going to get into over the next few weeks).

The evening ended beautifully though in my little craft space.

I am dedicating tonight's creation to my blog mate Brenda. I know she thinks I am completely mad to be making Christmas cards in June but I need to do this for a couple of reasons. One being that I always end up rushing and making them at the last minute and not being happy with them and secondly .. .. .. and probably the most annoying for many people .. .. .. I SIMPLY LOVE AND ADORE CHRISTMAS!!!!

This weeks theme was "A Christmas Carol". I didn't have anything to do a Charles Dickens theme with so I went with my favourite Christmas Carol ever .. .. .. .. Silent Night. I love this carol.

So Brenda, here is your card:

To make Brenda's card I used:

Backing paper: Sorry I cannot remember. This is one of those papers that has been in my paperbox for about 2.5 years!!!!!
Images: Snowman = Stampendous (sorry but I have worn the name off the side) .. ..Snowflakes = Great Impressions
Brads, holographic peel offs and ribbon from my stash box
Diamond Stickles
Ranger Embossing Tinsel "Bridal"

There we go - tonight's creation.

Lots to do over the weekend and hopefully some more crafting too.

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for calling by.

Image: Funstamps F-M124 Five Hearts
Sentiment: Woodware FRCL107 "Wedding Anniversaries"
Punches: Fiskars Threading Water and X Cut small flower

POLKA DOODLE CHALLENGE - WEEK 3

Hi Everyone

Well I am not late this week for my Polka Doodle Challenge. (Phew!!!)

This week there were three elements:

1. To work to a sketch
2. To use 3 different papers
3. To use at least one flower

Here is the sketch

Here is my creation

This used:

Image and Sentiment: The Greeting Farm "Cake Topper" (Coloured with Promarkers)
Hearts: Elusive Images (Sorry cannot find the name of the collection).
Papers: Pink Petticoat "His N Hers Collection"
Nestablities: Scalloped Circle Large and Standard Circle Large
X Cut - small flower punch
Little gem and ribbons from my stash box
Diamond Stickles

My flower is only a tiny little thing which I placed alongside the two hearts which I had overlapped. I just wanted a flower that was small and delicate as I felt that anything larger would spoil the look of my card.

I hope you like my creation. I really loved making it!!

Thank you for calling by.

PENNY BLACK CHALLENGE - WEEK 52

Hi Everyone

Here is a challenge card I made over the weekend but haven't had the opportunity to post until now.

This card is for the Penny Black Challenge where the theme this week was "Blooming Gorgeous".

Here is my Blooming Gorgeous card:

This used:

Image: Penny Black 3815J "Love Blush"
Background paper: Funky Fairy "In with the Old"
Nestablities: Scalloped Circle Large and Standard Circle Large
Crafty Notions Rainbow Drops
Promarker Pens
Fiskars small heart punch

I have also been the proud receiver of two awards over the weekend.

The first came from my blog buddy Jackie from Crafty Garden and was awarded to me for being "a true bloggy friend". Thanks Jackie - the feeling is mutual.

and the second from Helen at Paperholics Anonymous

Both of these ladies have been part of my blogging world from the very beginning. Please go and visit both of their blogs. They both manage to produce such a wide variety of work and always give me inspiration when I visit them. Apart from their crafting inspiration they are great blog buddies to me too - thank you both. So pleased you are there.

Here starts another week - Happy Monday everyone. I wonder what this week is going to hold?

THE NEXT LEVEL - CHALLENGE 1

Hi Everyone

Beautiful weather here .. .. as in it is lashing it down with rain. This means I can play indoors with my craft goodies and I don't have to feel guilty about not gardening and don't have to water what I planted last week!!!

I am back with another challenge card.

This one I just "had" to do because I wanted to try making a "lollipop flower".

There were two compulsory elements to the challenge. Firstly to have an aperture/opening on the front of your card and the second being to use your own hand made faux lollipop flower or flowers.

Here is my creation

This used:

Papers all came from the DCWV "Old World Stack"
Sentiment: Pink Petticoat
Acetate to back my aperture
Dovecraft Brads
Sewing machine
Diamond Stickles

I loved making the lollipop flower and just know I will be making more of them. I was supposed to have used Gesso or watered down white emulsion paint on the edges of my flower but because I didn't have either I used white correction fluid.

If you haven't been and looked at The Next Level yet then make sure you do. It is like an on-line magazine that is just crammed full of useful information - including full instructions on making the lollipop flowers.

Good news too .. .. .. my car has just passed its MOT. Yay!!!

Enjoy your weekend everyone - whatever you are doing.

Thanks for calling by.

MY FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD OF THE YEAR

Hi Everyone

Well I have decided to try and be a good girl this year and to start making my Christmas cards early - in the hope of not needing to make last minute panic cards like last year. (If my memory serves me right I was still making them two days before Christmas!!!!!).

I have decided to play along with Winter Wonderland - a new challenge blog dedicated to taking some of the stress out of Christmas. Just what I need!!! I can't promise to play along every week but each card made is one ready and waiting to send to someone special.

The theme this week is "Oh Christmas Tree". It was lovely to open the Christmas stash box again.

My Christmas cards are always simple and always include as much sparkle as I feel I can tastefully add .. .. .. and of course the compulsory heart.

So here is card no. 1 .. ..

To make this little creation I used:

Image: Penny Black 3741K "Filigree Tree" (coloured with a Promarker pen)
Backing Paper: Pink Petticoat
Snowflakes: Cuttlebug Snowflakes Die
Diamond Stickles
PM Adhesive Pearls
Fiskars Heart Punch

and that is it.

Woo hoo!!! One ready already and waiting.

Well my favourite night of the week is here again. Hubby in his usual Friday night position - in the kitchen making his famous fish, chips, potato fritters and mushy peas and I am in my usual position - in my crafting space with the occassional little tipple being delivered to celebrate Friday. Oh I am such a lucky girl .. .. .. so glad I managed to grab my Mr Right all those years ago before someone else nabbed him!!

Will catch you again over the weekend .. .. .. keep your fingers crossed .. .. .. my car has its MOT tomorrow. It is getting a little worse for wear now so it may not get a clean bill of health.

Anyway, thanks for calling by and have a wonderful weekend everyone.

WOW, WOW, WOW AND WOW

Polka Doodle has made my night!!!
Oh I am so excited - and no-one is at home to share the excitement with me - so I am going to share with all my blog buddies first .. .. .. my better half will have to hear last in about 2 hours time.

Look what I have won

I can't believe it. What a wonderful prize - and it is all from Polka Doodle. (Thank you, thank you, thank you).

When their first challenge was set any comments that were left were going to be "randomly generated" and one lucky winner was going to win this wonderful stash.. .. .. .. I am that lucky winner!!! (I was randomly generated by Mr Freddie Foo Foo - thank you very kindly sir!!!)

Yippety, zippety doo da!!!!

Oh I do hope that the postman has "go faster" stripes on his trainers .. .. .. I can't wait to see my prize up close and personal and to start playing!!!

Catch you all again soon.

Probably too late but worth a try!!

Hi Everyone

Have you ever had an idea buzzing around your head for days and days .. .. .. but without the chance to do anything with it?

Well this was me with the Polka Doodle challenge this week.

I have now finally had the opportunity to put my ideas onto a card and have noticed that the closing time for challenges on this blog is Wednesday, 12.00 GMT. Now is that 12.00 (my dinner time) or 12.00 midnight (my wake up on the sofa and go to bed time)?????

I am hoping it is the latter .. .. .. but if not .. .. .. never mind. I have had fun creating.

This is the sketch I needed to work to

and this is what I created:

This little creation was made using:

Image: The Greeting Farm "Rockstar Anya" (coloured with Promarkers)
Papers: DCWV "The Rockstar Mat Stack"
Sentiment: Inkadinkado 98693 "Rock Star / LA star"
Nestabilities: Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Punches: Woodware 2" scalloped square and a little music note punch that doesn't have a manufacturer's name on it

and last but not least. 6 strands of wire (these are supposed to represent the 6 strings on Anya's guitar).

Now being the very proud mother of my own little "Rock Star" .. .. .. who owns more guitars than I own pairs of shoes .. .. you would have thought I would have scrounged some real guitar strings for this task - but I didn't :-(

So fingers crossed I am not too late to enter this for the challenge. If I am at least I will understand the rules for next time.

Oh dear!!! So many challenges I want to do and I promised myself I wouldn't get drawn into them.

I really do feel I need to take part in the Winter Wonderland Challenge though (if only to get ahead of myself on the "C" card front .. .. .. .. I didn't say the "C" word because summer is just appearing .. .. .. but you know what I mean LOL!!!!) All my "C" cards end up a last minute rush!!!
Catch you again soon.

Lots of hearts to choose from plus an award

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post tonight - I nearly thought I wasn't going to make it. Life is very busy, busy, busy at the moment!!!

I decided to have a go with an image I downloaded from the DigiStamp Boutique this morning to make a wedding anniversary card for two very special people. Lots of hearts to go at tonight. I paper pieced the whole image using Pink Petticoat papers.

Here it is:

This card used:

Image: DigiStamp Boutique "Love Birds"
Papers : Pink Petticoat His N Hers Collection
Sentiment: Computer Generated
X Cut - small flower punch
Gem from my stash box

I am also the proud receiver of an award. This has come from my blog buddy Shell over at Shellshearer. Thank you very much for thinking of me Shell, this is very much appreciated.

Pop over to see Shell if you get chance - she has made some lovely cards - my favourite at the moment being the one Shell made as her first challenge card on the 11th May. I thought this was such a great idea.

Well that is me for tonight.

Thanks for calling by.
