A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

FOR MY OLDEST FRIEND

Hi Everyone

Happy Wednesday.  I hope it has been a good day for you.  I actually managed a couple of hours colouring outside, in the sunshine, under the umbrella .. .. .. yay!!!!

This week is a very busy week for birthdays .. .. and yesterday was the birthday of my "oldest" friend.

Not oldest in terms of her age .. .. .. but oldest in terms of us being friends the longest.

We formed a friendship in the first class of infants school and have been friends ever since .. .. .. so she has been my friend for nearly the whole of my life.  Which means lots of memories made and secrets shared!

Here is the card I made:

This used:

Image: Whimsy Dreams Clipart "Floral Numbers" (you get all numbers in the download so can make a card with any age on you like!).
Backing Paper:  The Lovely Studio (who I cannot access at the moment.  I hope they haven't closed).
Sentiment:  Computer Generated
ProMarkers
My Trusty Sewing Machine

A bit of a joke card really to help my friend remember her age .. .. .. .. which she accidentally got wrong earlier this year when she took a year off both of our ages.  I am half a year younger, and make sure I keep reminding her LOL!!

Hence the insert I added inside:

and that is me for today.

It is looking like thundery showers for us tomorrow .. .. boo hoo!

Hi Jules,
Love the card and very subtle!! Lol!!
A lot of colouring and beautifully done Jules. Brilliant insert too!

Spent yesterday sitting in a Church Hall for a Craft Fair. It was very quiet and boring, except for a very friendly group of stallholders.

Love and hugs,
Carol xxxx

I'm sure your friend will love this card and smile at the verse inside too. Looks like a pretty and useful download of numbers. Certainly no doubt of a person's age with a card like this!!

Pretty card, great design. Ok, I have to admit that I have done that too. But I know why...It's because I'm so old and don't want to remember my age4? Smile...

This is so pretty, I am going to have to look up that set. I have something similar in a colouring book that are numbers. I love all your little details like the heart paper peaking through and the stitching on the edge. A beautiful card, I am sure your friend will treasure it xx

Hurray that you got to color outside under the umbrella again!! What a super fun birthday card for your oldest friend Jules! I love those numbers and the colors you colored them. I did the same thing your friend did, only in the opposite, I made myself a whole year older this year! lol I looked at Bret and said, "I'm 62 right?" He is like, "Uh no, you were born in 1960, so that makes you 61." Talk about embarrassing that my kid knew my age and I didn't. lol Lordy, Lordy! I have a friend whom we've been very good friends for most of our life too. I will have to keep this card idea in mind for her, only I'm two weeks older than she is. I just love the inside, so clever is this whole card! Hugs, Brenda

I just love this, I have this from Whimsy Dreams, but haven't printed it off yet. What you have done is perfect and I'm sure your oldest friend will just love it! The insert is just brilliant, it made me smile! Take care. Debbie x

What a gorgeous card Jules I bet your Friend had a giggle at the subtlety and was thrilled to bits with i!! The floral numbers look absolutely sensational. I am glad I'm not the only one that found a "closed door" at The Lovely Studio, I paid a visit at the weekend to see if there were any Christmas additions xx
