My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

WHAT HAVE I MADE TODAY?

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is well .. .. .. and if not that you get better quickly.

A busy day in the House of Hearts .. .. .. today I have been making an example "Table Plan" for taking to the fayre on Sunday.  But it isn't finished just yet.  I still have all the various elements to attach .. .. so I will share that tomorrow when it is done and dusted.

It was quite funny putting it all together and trying to think up 88 names to use.  In the end I opened up the top 100 baby names and used a load from there LOL!!!

So because that isn't in a state to be photographed at the moment I thought I would share another of my wedding invitation samples with you.

I hope you likey, likey.

HEDGEHOG BOUQUET

Hi Everyone

A bit later tonight .. .. sorry!!  The time has just flown today without me noticing.

A very quick share using an image that I had already coloured whilst at my Mum's one week and had popped in a box "for future use".   In fact there are probably another three images just the same as this in the box LOL!!  It is such a lovely image because it can be used for so many things, Birthdays, Mother's Day, Get Well Soon, Thank You, Sorry I'm Late .. .. and probably a few other things I haven't even thought of!!

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "1444K" Hedgehog Bouquet
Sentiment:  Computer Generated
Backing Papers:  Aimee Asher
Woodware Punches:  Daisy
Leone Em Pty Punch: Ash Branch
Martha Stewart Punch:  Daisy
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
Brads and Ribbon from the Stash Box

A nice quick and simple one which is brilliant whilst time is short.

Today sees the launch of a new challenge over at Get Funky! where my fabby team mate Lou wants us to "Zing into Spring".  If you click here you will arrive at the challenge blog where all the rules are .. .. the winner at the end of the challenge being able to pick a free download of your choice!!!  What better reason to enter?!?!

Part of the rules are that you have to use a Funky Hand product on your creation .. .. but if you haven't got one yet then don't worry because Anice has provided another freebie for you to use (It is gorgeous.  All the ladies on the DT fell instantly in love with it).  You will find that on the challenge blog too .. .. so off you go!!!

Catch you again tomorrow.

I LOVE YOU MORE THAN CHOCOLATE ?!?!?

Hi Everyone

Hasn't today been beautiful weather wise .. .. but the day has been overshadowed by all the awful news that is still coming from Japan.  It all just sounds so very, very horrendous.  Another day to count our blessings.

My share today is a make which you may see on TV tomorrow.

My lovely Funky boss Anice is on Create and Craft "twice" showcasing her lovely products.  Two different demonstrations.  One at 10.00am and another at 2.00pm.

We have a lovely Funky character called "our Betty" and she is going to be making an appearance tomorrow and here is one of the samples I have made.  I wonder if we will see "my Betty" or whether she will be camera shy and hide?!?!?  LOL!!!

A bit of a different shaped card for me.

This used:

Backing Papers:  Craft the Year Away CD using the "My July" Colour collection
Sentiment also created using the Craft the Year Away CD
Image:  Funky Hand "Our Betty - Love N That"
Nestabilities: Classic Scalloped Rectangles Small
ProMarkers

I won't tell you what I have been up to today as you must all be sick of hearing about it by now .. .. so I will just say .. .. see you tomorrow. LOL!!!

Thanks for calling by.

JULES' CRAFTY SNIPPET CHALLENGE - WEEK 10

Hi Everyone

Well I hope that the weekend has been lovely for you.  Quite a mixed bag of weather but today has been gorgeous (once the rain fizzled out).

Thankfully I haven't had all the hassle with my computer that I had last Sunday and I should be OK to have my blogland catch up this evening.  Can't wait to see what you have all been up to.

My wedding fayre preparations are coming along really well .. .. which is a good job as the fayre is next week!!  In fact this time next week it will nearly be over!!  I still have some samples and the "handout" wording to finalise and a huge table plan to make so plenty to be going at.

I was up bright and early as my head was buzzing with ideas so I played with my snippets for a couple of hours and I kept making "don't forget" notes whilst I was playing ahead of last minute shopping and supplies for next weekend.

Today I have been able to pick up a lovely table top easel for putting my sample table plan onto .. .. so I have all the gear now .. .. just need to make the sample.

Anyway, Sunday means Snippets so what have I come up with this time.

This used:

The compulsory snippets
Mainly my trusty sewing machine and hardly any glue or double sided tape.
Go Kreate Die: Scalloped Square
Sizzix Die: Flower Layers #5
Woodware Punches
Large Brad from the Scrap Box

This used:

The compulsory snippets
Sentiment:  Funky Hand "Our Betty - Love n That"
Cuttlebug Heart Die
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder:  Script
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads

This used:

The compulsory snippets
Sentiment: Great Impressions "E411"
Sentiment on label:  Pink Petticoat
Fiskars Punch:  Threading Water
Woodware Punches

Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Eyelet, ribbon, thread and brads from the Stash Box  (love the teeny tiny little eyelet on the label .. .. it is my favourite part of this card.  LOL!!!

I was hoping to have made four little creations today but unfortunately the first one took me longer than I anticipated and time is a bit precious at the moment so I had to call it a halt at three.

The weirdest thing is if I was to take off every piece of card or paper and line it all up I bet I still haven't used two sheets of A4 paper in total.  These snippets go a long, long, long way!!!  LOL!!!

Love all of my creations this week but I think the first might be my favourite .. .. just because I enjoyed using my sewing machine on it.

So how have snippets been being used in the rest of blogland?
The inspiration for my first card came from Helen who you can find here.  I just love Helen's background and the gorgeous colours of her papers and flowers and she was more than happy for me to share her inspiration and her make with you.  Thank you Helen.

Next, my blog buddy Juls dipped into her snippets .. .. and made two brilliant cards.  It is amazing all the different styles that are appearing.  Juls is very imaginative and you will find her fabby makes here.  Such gorgeous colours and inspiring makes.

Then along came my lovely DIL Cat who is being good and using up her snippets too on her wonderful creation.  Loving the colouring of the image and the paper snippet colours on this one very much.  Not sure I would have been able to do such a brilliant make at "daft o'clock" LOL!!!  Cat's great make is here.

One of my regular "snippeters" .. .. tee hee think I like that name .. .. had a wealth of lovely creations to show this week.  Carole, who frequently takes part has a gorgeous array of cards and gift cards .. (now there is another idea!!!).  Great inspiration and you can find Carole's lovely makes here.

Then snippet Sunday just wouldn't be the same without a share from Annmaree.  How super fantastically cool is the card Annmaree has made with her snippets.  I would love to be sending cards like this come Christmas as I think it is gorgeous.  Prepare for a lovely treat here.

Wow so much inspiration for us all in using up our snippets.

As a few people are enjoying playing along with this little theme I thought I would add Mr Linky to my post each Sunday as I am a bit worried that I might miss adding someone's snippet creation.  It will start as I post on Sunday and expire on Saturday at midnight.  If Mr Linky disappears then simply leave a comment on here.

So if you make a creation using your snippets that you would like to share then simply add your link below .. .. then everyone can visit everyone else for some inspiration on what to do with those small pieces of paper we can't bear to throw away.

After all the fewer snippets we have the more space we have for new stash LOL!!!

Right .. .. off on kitchen duty and this evening I am treating myself to a lovely blog hop session.

HUBBY'S TEAM HAVE WON!!!

Hi Everyone

Wow .. .. Hubby went to watch his football team this afternoon and the game has just finished (I have been listening on the radio) and they have actually won!!  Crikey .. .. the first time they have won at home this year!!

So whilst Hubby as been away I have made yet again "one" card for sharing and have spent the rest of the time taking more photographs for the website.  It isn't that there is going to be loads to show to begin with .. .. it is just getting everything set up right and getting some decent pictures.  It also feels a little bit of a race against time as the batteries in my camera can only take so much hammering LOL!!!

Anyway, here is my share for today

This used:

Image:  Basic Grey "Two Scoops/Swirlie"
Backing Paper:  Kraft Card (Pink Petticoat) Pattern Paper (Aimee Asher)
Marianne Design Creatables "LR0115" Butterfly
Distress Inks:  Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy and Frayed Burlap
Martha Stewart Punch:  Embossed Zig Zag
Nestabilities: Standard Circles Large, Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Woodware Punches:  Daisy
Clear Embossing Powder
Glamour Dust
Brad and Ribbon from the Stash Box

I clear embossed the swirls onto a circle of plain white card and then used every brown distress ink I own to bring it to life.
Off now to do a bit more.  Only one more week of manicness (is that a word?!??!) and then the house can be transformed back into a home.  At the the moment the dining room is the wedding samples area, the craft pod is the general makes area and the spare bedroom is the wedding fayre storeroom and photo taking den.  Good job my lovely hubby is so easy going LOL!!

Back tomorrow with my snippets and hopefully a blog hopping catch up to see what I have been missing.  All work and no hopping makes Jules a dull girl!!!!!

I do appreciate everyone still calling by even though I haven't had time for return visits.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

HARDLY WORTH ME MAKING AN APPEARANCE .. .. LOL!!!

Hi Everyone

Well I am so late tonight it is hardly worth me bothering .. .. LOL!!!

Once again only one make .. ..  I am sure life will calm down a little soon.

I spent a good bit of the day with my Mum and at the same time put inserts into all the cards I have had stacked waiting to be packaged up.  At least those are all done and dusted now.  A few orders to do and then next week is going to be wedding fayre, wedding fayre, wedding fayre!!!  Plenty on my "still got to do" list .. .. eek!!  Lots of butterflies in my tummy too but hopefully these will settle down soon.

Someone once told me that you only get nervous if something is important to you.  I don't know if that is true but if so then this is definitely "very" important LOL!!

Anyway round to "the" share of the day  .. ..  it has to be my favourite because it is the only one I have made!!

This used:

Image:  Docrafts Forever Friends "FFS 907106" Sports
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Backing Papers:  Aimee Asher for the patterns and Pink Petticoat for the scrap of newsprint
Woodware Punch:  Small label
Brad and thread from the Stash Box

As soon as I stuck my image down at an angle I thought "why did you do that?"  I try so hard not to have everything lined up and square on my cards .. .. but for some reason I never feel comfortable with the results if they aren't .. .. and yet I think it looks great on other people's creations.

I liked it better once I added the newspaper print paper and the little label.

This image reminded me of my Dad .. .. not that he was a bear!!!  But he did like fishing (and a good snooze bless him).  He used to take me with him if he was doing just general fishing but if it was a competition I wasn't allowed to go.  In fact sometimes he had been and come home again before I had even got up in a morning!!

I own a lovely photograph of him (not many around sadly) after a fishing competition.  He had his "catch" all lined up on the "keep net" and a snap was taken before the fish were thrown back.  I love the picture .. .. but Mum managed to spoil it a little because she told me years later that what the men used to do was to "pool their catches together" and each one of them would individually pose in front of the line of fish as though they had caught all of the fish themselves.  Naughty boys!!! LOL!!!

I still love the photo though and it makes me smile to think of all the men replacing each other and having a snap taken.

Right off to eat my lovely supper.

Catch you again tomorrow.

DOTTY ABOUT FUNKY HAND

Hi Everyone

Firstly may I say a big thank you for all the lovely comments and words of encouragement you left on my wedding stationery post of yesterday.  I am so pleased you liked what I showed and have been spending a good bit of today trying to take more photographs.

As soon as there is something worth looking at I will let you all know my website address.  It will only be very basic to begin with .. .. a work in progress .. .. but hopefully special enough to show what I can do.

Once again only one general card made today and that is one I can't share!!  Typical!!

But I can share the news that Anice from Funky Hand has released a new set of papers for download .. ... Rainbow Polkadots.  You can find them here.

The DT were given the download to work from a couple of weeks ago and you wouldn't believe the number of times I have picked the papers up to use and then suddenly thought to myself . .. no .. .. you can't use them yet .. .. they aren't released LOL!!!

But now they are..... yay!! .. ... and here is one of the creations I made with them.

This used:

Papers:  Funky Hand Downlaod Rainbow Polkadots
Image and Sentiment:  Funky Hand CD "Colour Me Happy"
Diamond Stickles and a little butterfly sitting waiting to be used in the stash box

What a frugal list!!

I simply printed my image and sentiment onto my white card then printed again onto the patterned paper .. .. but deleting the sentiment first so as not to waste any of my lovely spotty paper .. .. cut the shapes out and stuck them on!!  Super simple, super quick!!!

If you don't have the new Craft the Year Away CD though you won't be able to do the writing I'm afraid.  The new one up-dates any of the other Papercraft Factory CD's you may have already installed on your system.

I don't know about you but I can't wait for the tulips to start appearing in the gardens .. .. though I somehow doubt they will be quite the same as those on my card LOL!!

Well my business cards arrived today!!  How is that for speed.  I designed them on line yesterday at 1.00pm and they were delivered to me by courier before 1.00pm today and I am really pleased with them.  Something else ticked off the "don't forget to do" list!!!

Hope you all have a good evening.

My turn to cook tonight (but everything is prepared).  Prawn and tuna pasta in a garlic and cream sauce with mushrooms and spring onions.  Mmm.. ..  I am ready now ..  hope the bath doesn't relax me too much LOL!!!

Catch you again tomorrow

I'M LATE .. .. BUT WITH EXCITING NEWS

Hi Everyone

So sorry I am late .. .. but today has been one mammoth and exciting day.

As some of you will know I am preparing for a Wedding Fayre on the 20th March and have been working hard at getting samples etc together.

There is still a lot to do but I am enjoying every second .. .. with the occasional nervous panic as to whether I will have everything done that I want to do.  Don't know why I am worrying though because this is only the first .. .. I can always keep working on new designs etc for the next ones.

Anyway, what am I excited about .. .. .. well I should soon have the beginnings of a website for my Wedding Stationery .. yay!!!

I have been busy providing my "setter upper" with the things he needs (I bet he thinks I am well thick as I don't understand the slightest thing about the technical side of how websites work).  But I have been sending him the things he needs and hopefully I shall have something for potential customers to view in a few days.

Lots of stuff I still need to work on but I am told we can add all the other things as we go along as and when they are ready (oh I do hope he has a lot of patience LOL!!).

I have flattened the battery on my camera whilst trying to take professional looking photographs of some of the wedding stationery I have done so far .. .. just waiting to hear if what I have provided are good enough or whether I need to start again.

So, I am now ready to share my first Wedding Stationery photograph with you .. .. I hope you likey, likey??!?

I am not going to go into what I used .. .. other than a lot of love and care.

So now at least you can see what I have been working on whilst not visiting and commenting on your lovely blogs.  I hope I am forgiven.

So other than all my website work, photography session, ordering business cards, working on my wording for some handouts, (oh and a bit of housework) all I have produced today is one card!!!

But no card could compare to the excitement of my wedding stationery so that is what I decided to share today.

Enjoy what is left of your evening everyone.

PURR-FECT MESSAGE

Hi there

What another wonderful day .. .. beautiful sunshine and enough breeze to blow my washing about .. .. perfect (doesn't take much to please me does it?!?!).  Still a bit on the cold side though.

I toddled off to the post box thinking it would be a nice little stroll in the sunshine .. .. only to rush there and back because it was so cold!!!  I ended up needing to put my thick cardigan on when I got home to warm up again LOL!!!

This is my favourite make of the day

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "40-040" Purr-fect Message
Backing Papers:  Aimee Asher
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Martha Stewart Punch:  Traditional Scallop

Woodware Punch:  Daisy
Leone Em Pty Punch: Ash Branch
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles

Brad from the Stash Box

I do make other cards during the day that do not involve Penny Black stamps .. .. it is just that the Penny Black cards always seem to end up being my favourites.  Must try hard to show you something else tomorrow LOL!!!

Then the very good news of the day is that finally my laptop is happy again.   Yay!!!

There are still a few things hubby needs to put on but hopefully now it is a happy machine and this time it will be good for longer than two weeks!!!!

Have a lovely evening everyone and thank you for calling by.

BEE COSTUME

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all seen a bit of sunshine today.  It took a while to appear here but was glorious when it did.

The sad part is that by mid afternoon I have to block some of it out  .. .. the sun shines straight into my craft pod and stops me from seeing properly .. .. shame .. .. but it has to be done!!!

Here is my favourite make of the day:

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "2243K" Bee Costume
Backing Papers:  Aimee Asher
Sentiment:  Pink Petticoat
Woodware Punches:  Daisy
Leone Em Pty Punch: Ash Branch
ProMarkers
Glamour Dust
Diamond Stickles
Brads

A nice bright and breezy one to match the weather.  We are promised the same for tomorrow .. .. but I won't mention the rest of the week LOL!!.

I have my fingers and toes tightly crossed that I can come and visit tonight but can you believe that my lovely Hubby is "still" doing up-dates on my laptop!!!

My hero was working on it until around 11.30pm last night and has come home from work and set it updating again.  Thank goodness we aren't in the old dial-up days .. .. it would be costing a fortune and be dropping out every 10 minutes or so!!  Tee hee!!!  So there is a silver lining to be found amongst my impatience.

Hubby felt it shouldn't take too long now so hopefully by the time I have had my bath and eaten I can then settle into a good old blog hop!!  Oh I do hope so .. .. I am missing seeing what you have all been up to.

Have a good evening everyone.  See you sooooonnn ... I hope!!

JULES' CRAFTY SNIPPET CHALLENGE - WEEK 9

Hi Everyone

Here we are again then .. .. another Sunday and another attack on all those lovely snippets in my craft pod.

For anyone new to my blog .. .. Sunday is the day that I try to use up some of the pieces of paper, card and ribbon that remains after attacking those lovely "full size" pieces. I call these my "snippets".  I am now on my 9th week .. .. I seem to be sticking to it OK.

Here is what I have come up with this week

This one used (apart from snippets):

Image:  Magenta "19746" Deco Vase
Sentiment:  Woodware "FRCL076" Female Relative
Josy Rose:  Nail Heads
Diamond Stickles

This one used (apart from snippets):

Sentiment:  Elzybells
Sizzix Die:  "656635" Fanciful Flight
Woodware Punch:  Circle

Diamond Stickles

and lastly my fav for this week

This used (apart from snippets)

Sentiment:  Elzybells
Woodware Punch:  RectangleShapeabilities: Nested Flower (borrowed from my lovely Sis xx)
Shapeabilities "Doodle Parts"
Distress Ink Pad:  Tea Dye
White Gel Pen

Other people also like "playing along" and using up their snippets too.  My snippet day is Sunday .. but of course "you" can play any day you want.

So who played along over the course of the last week ?

Firstly the lovely Carole who has created a really bright and beautiful creation with her snippets this week.  Such gorgeous colours.

Thank you for sharing your lovely snippet creation and giving such great inspiration.  You can find Carole's fantastic card here but also take time to look at the rest of her blog if you haven't visited before.  There are some awesome projects to be seen.

Next up is the ever eager Annmaree who always manages to find the most inspirational things to make with her snippets.  How come I never find these when I am looking LOL!!  Good job I have Annmaree on the case .. .. thank you matie.

Annmaree's super cool snippet creation can be found here along with a video link showing how to make a little origami Hawaiian shirt.

Then last, but by no means least, my lovely blog buddy Brenda.  She has been working her magic with her snippets again.  You need to scroll down lots of other lovely creations to in order to see Brenda's snippet creation .. .. but lots of loveliness on the way!!  You will find Brenda's snippet (eventually LOL!!) here.

Thank you ladies for your inspiration.

I was hoping for a blog hop session tonight .. .. but that will only possible if my lovely hubby manages to sort my laptop out!!  No way can I see you all from this donkey machine .. .. it is just too slow .. .. plus it is located in a corner that is very draughty  .. ..  a bit like the naughty corner really LOL!!

My laptop was throwing up Windows activation messages this morning that we couldn't sort out and ringing the helpline they sorted it for us .. .. but in the process wiped everything!!  Nice of them to warn us this would happen!!   Grrrrr!!!!!!

With only having it back for two weeks there wasn't too much damage done - just all my emails lost!!!!

But it is now going through every windows update since March 2009!!!!  A mountain of up-dates that are taking for ever to complete and then hubby needs to install everything "again" and set up my accounts, anti-virus, firewalls etc "all over again".

Poor chap only did it two weeks ago for me!!!  What would I do without him?

I hope I get to see you tonight!!

LONG STEM CUTIES

Hi Everyone

How are things with you?

I hope you had a good Saturday.

Mine has been a mixed day of crafting and a little "necessary" housework!!  You know the dreaded kitchen and bathroom floors!!

I have been cracking on with Mother's Day as I threatened I would yesterday and here is my favourite of the day.

So that is me.  No wedding work from me for the last two days as I have a lot of general things I need to get done.  My poor hubby.  Upstairs is general work and downstairs is wedding work.  He must feel I am taking over the house gradually!!

Anyway, I am going to fly as I want to squeeze just one more make in .. .. but I will be back tomorrow with my snippet creations (whatever they may be) .. .. plus I am giving myself the luxury of a good old Sunday blog hop.  Can't wait to see what you have all been up to whilst I have been away.

Have a good evening.

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE

Hi Everyone

Late but here with a card that fits nicely into the Penny Black Saturday challenge where they would like to see pearls and lace.

This used:

Image:  Penny Black "3976K" Acrobat
Sentiment:  Papermania "PMA 10071"
Backing Papers:  Cuddly Buddly
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles
Lace, ribbon and pearls from the Stash Box

So how did my day go?

Well, my lovely Sis arrived bright and early and we set up our tables with what we had produced so far and decided what else we needed to do .. .. and also how much lighting we needing to invest in.  Once decided it was off to IKEA.

We found exactly what we wanted and rushed home to add everything to our display and we were well chuffed.  We still have lots to do but feel we have made a good leap forward today.

The day has flown away with me and production has been very sparse .. .. but there is a limit as to what you can fit into a day .. .. .. and I did do an hour of ironing!!

Must go and get my bath now whilst the jacket spuds are cooking.  Good job Hubby is at a football meeting for a bit longer yet!!!

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

I'M ENVIOUS

Yes, I am envious .. .. ...  envious of the image in my card  .. .. I just fancy sitting in a chair and covering my eyes for 40 winks!!  LOL!!!

But no time for that .. .. things to do!!!

Here is my little share of the day

This used:

Image:  Papermania It's a Man's World "Couch Potato"
Sentiment:  Hobby Art "CS016D" General Greetings
Backing Papers:  Footballs = Trimcraft "Smirk for Him"  Newspaper = Pink Petticoat
ProMarkers
Diamond Stickles

I made this card for someone a few weeks ago and loved it that much that I decided to make it again (you know .. .. the same but different!!).

So the time has come for me to duck out of blogland for a while.  I have so much to do in preparation for the wedding fayre on the 20th March as well as orders and DT work that I need to be sensible and use my time productively.   Mother's Day is only just around the corner!!

I will still try and post something every day .. .. so you can still play "hunt the heart" ... .. .. but I know I am not going to have chance to return any of your lovely comments if you choose to leave any.  Sorry if I am a let down!!

I am going to allow myself to play with my snippets and share those on Sunday and will have a hop around then .. . but in the meantime I will only be visiting entries to the challenges I am a DT member on.  I am sure that you will understand.

I promise once my Wedding Fayre goodies are ready I will share a photograph of it all set up.

Tomorrow my lovely Sis and I are off to find some lighting for our display and perhaps a few props.  We are then going to set up tables to replicate what we have hired and arrange all our makes to see how much more we need to create.

Oh I am so excited!!!

Catch you again soon
