My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

A DOUBLE DOSE TODAY!

Good morning everyone

Prepare for a long post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is ready to jump back into the world of Challenges!!!

Today I have two pieces of DT work to share with you for two different challenges - both of which you can enter as of today:

There is the first Allsorts weekly challenge of 2010 which I had the honour of setting

and

the "Get Funky" monthly challenge which my lovely teamie Lythan set

There is quite a nice link between the two because Anice from Funky Hand has very kindly sponsored the Allsorts challenge this week and the prize is a copy of the "Funky Daze" CD. Thank you Anice xx.

Allsorts Challenge

The theme at Allsorts is to either "show off your Christmas goodies" or to "be good and use up your old stash" ~ but there is a sketch to follow!!

Here is what I created for Allsorts:

This used:

Backing Papers: These are a free download from Funky Hand
Image: Great Impressions E521
Promarkers
Stars are from a little Cuttlebug die that has snowflakes and stars
Nail Heads: Josy Rose

Why not pop over and see what the rest of the Allsorts DT have produced once you have made it to the end of my post?

and next

The January "Get Funky" challenge

The winner of this challenge gets to spend £20 in the on-line store of Funky Hand - how cool is that? (and you certainly won't be short of things to spend it on!!!).

The only rules when taking part in a "Get Funky" challenge are to follow the theme and to use at least one Funky Hand "paper" or "extra" on your project. (But don't forget there is a free download available if you don't own any Funky Hand stash yet).

The challenge this month is to feature "Dots and Stripes".

Here is what I created:

This used:

Papers: All from the Funky Hand "Funky Daze" CD (which is what you could win in the Allsorts Challenge this week).
Nestabilities: Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Woodware: Circle Punch
Woodware: Flower punch for layering up to make the roses
Martha Stewart: Frond

It has just dawned on me that if you are clever you can actually make your creation fit both challenges!! I wonder if I am supposed to have told you that? Oh well - I've said it now!!!! LOL!!

If you would like to know how to make the roses that are on my card then you need to visit my craft buddy Brenda. She has done a fantastic tutorial (which you will find on her side bar) explaining the whole process .. .. .. but beware .. .. .. they are very addictive!!!

My Funky Hand teamies also have lots of inspiration to share with you so please pay them a visit too.

Some of the Funky Hand Gang have actually used papers that will be being featured on Anice's new CD "Dreams Come True" that is due for release soon. The world is in for a real treat when this becomes available - as a team we are totally smitten with it.

So what are you waiting for? Time to go and create. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!!!

Sorry for the long post ~ but at least you only had to read it. I had to write it!! LOL!!!

Take care everyone and have a great New Year and a wonderful weekend. It is starting to snow here in the Midlands and as my Mum would say "the sky looks full of it"!!!!

My Christmas tree is going to have to be dismantled tomorrow. One last night of fairy lights and that is it for another year. Boo hoo!!

Love Jules xx

Great cards! I'd be better using up my old stash as got far too much of it, however I've been a bit naughty and been on some sale websites.... but all before the 1 Jan when it had to stop hehehe!!

The roses are fantastic and so glad you are part of our Gang!

Happy New Year!

These are lovely Jules and the roses are gorgeous. They are the first thing I want to have a go at as soon as I have finished orders I have on the go at the moment. Brenda's tutorial will be a big help.

Here's wishing you a very happy and healthy 2010!

Hi Jules, I love your cards, especially the blue and pink one. The roses are gorgeous made from those papers.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Maybe you're right, I should frame the jigsaw. Would be rather large, though, it measures 2ft by almost 3ft! xx
