My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

SILHOUETTE GRASS - TAKE 2

Hi there blog pals

I'm back again .. .. .. same stamp but different day and different look LOL!!

I woke up this morning with an urge to use my sewing machine .. .. but before I got cracking on stitching just squares and oblongs I had a little experiment .. .. what do you think?

I stamped my image onto a piece of old fabric with black Stazon and then machine embroidered over parts of the image with different coloured sparkly thread and frayed the edges.  The sentiment I just stamped out and stitched on.

Here is my creation:

and the close up

This used:

Image:  Hero Arts "S5316" Silhouette Grass
Sentiment:  Docrafts "PMA 10096" Just for You
Black Stazon
Gutermann Thread
Flower and button from the stash box
My trust old sewing machine

My original thought was to put my fabric into an aperture card (a bit like the good old days when I did cross stitch cards) but then I decided that would look too neat .. I wanted more of a rustic look.  I might do a few things differently another time but I don't think this is too bad for a first try.

Well it is Friday  .. .. .. the weekend starts here!!!  Yay!!!

Have a good one everbody.

Love

You are no novice with the machine embroidery then Jules. This card is gorgeous. Never could get the hang of embroidery machine or otherwise but maybe I might have to persevere and have another try.

Jules, this is absolutely lovely! I love the sparkly embroidery and it reminds me of samples I did for a City and Guilds course nearly 20 years ago now. Argh, it only seems like 5 or 6!

And it doesn't look like a first attempt!
