My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

I HOPE YOU'RE IMPRESSED

Hi Everyone

Sorry, I am late tonight.

I bet you think it is because we have been so busy gardening!!  But no!!

Thankfully we had quite a good stint when Hubby got home from work last night because today went a bit pear-shaped.

We began the day by having the boiler and gas fire serviced at 9.00am .. .. and what happened?  Our fire and chimney were condemned!!  Eeekk!!

But our boiler was in good health .. phew!!!

So we had the gas fire taken out and decided to replace it with a "real looking" electric one.  I must admit they have improved rather a lot since I lived at home with Mum and Dad!!  We spent ages looking round a showroom and ended up getting one that they were selling off cheaper as an ex-showroom model (plus we managed to knock them down a little bit more .. .. result!!!).  There didn't look anything wrong with it and it was the most realistic looking one there out of loads and loads.

Once home we have installed it and it looks just great.  We are well pleased with it.

We took the old gas fire to a local metal merchant .. .. loads of folk were there taking old tanks, and piping and hubby says "I don't want to build our hopes up but everyone is coming out with £10 and £20 notes".

So they weigh our fire and he goes into the office and comes out smiling.  How much has he come out with?  £3.50!!!  LOL!!!

But that was £3.50 more than we would have got had we taken it down the tip!!

After all of that here is my share for the day.  Now I hope you are impressed because I have used up the papers left over from yesterday .. .. they didn't even make it to the snippet drawers!!!

I love this flower paper very much.

This used:

Sentiment:  Verve Stamps "VSB-09-049" Thankful Accents
Backing Papers: Digichick Boutique - Joyful Heart Designs
Nestabilities:  Standard Circles Large
Distress Ink:  Peeled Paint
Eyelets
Button, Ribbon and Cord from the Stash Box

OK  -  after that long ramble I will now have a lovely hop around blogland whilst waiting for those fish and chips to arrive!!

Have a great evening everyone.

Love

A gorgeous card. I love the flower and the matching paper. I'm glad you managed to get a realistic looking heater. Don't go spending your money all at once!

I think this is fabulous, Jules - I can see why you like the flower paper, it's beautiful! Result with the fire - we've got coal fire here, which is wonderful in the winter, but fireplace itself is hideous. Apparently we can't have it taken out and replaced with something nicer because it's holding the wall up! Have a lovely weekend. Tracey x

Hi Jules
Just having a lovely catch up with your week. I remember being one of those Mums not too many moons ago leaving my baby for her first day at school and coming out in floods of tears myself while she went off happily without a backwards glance. In another year that same baby will be going to big school. I promise not to cry then!!
No gardening in this neck of Yorkshire this week, the rain has been torrential most days, although today has been OK up until 7pm. It's raining now!!
Your fire and chimney saga is very familiar. The same thing happened to us a couple of years ago. Our flue was condemned by the Gas Man during the service and when the flue man came out to look at it he cheerfully told us it meant rebuilding a new one through the lounge and our bedroom-No thank you we thought, so did exactly the same thing as you and although I swore I would hate an electric fire, I absolutely love it and it definitely seems warmer than the old gas one!! It's certainly cheaper to run.
Your cards are stunning. I love the fact that you've used up all your offcuts, how good is that, I never manage it somehow.
Enjoy sitting in your lovely garden and have a great weekend.
Hugs Lisax

Beautiful card, great job the paper never made it to the snippets, I love the colours and the paper is georgeous.
What a to do with the fire, we had ours condemmed as well and we put a new gas fire in but we don't use it as much as we should.
Enjoy your new fire, God knows we need it here.... it's like winter here tonight.

Oh poor you having to fork out for a new fire but it's a good job you found out now & not in the middle of winter! What a lovely creation you've made with your left overs from yesterday & I love the flower as well. I like what you've done with the ribbon & cord together, very effective.

Ohhhh ... Fish and chips .... How I miss London.
I'm in love with that background paper too Jules. I've never bought a BG paper via digital before. Mostly because I don't have a color printer here at home. But I may have to ask for one at Christmas just so I can get that lovely pattern.

Sending virtual hugs. :)
