My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE IT !!!

Hi Everyone

I hope Friday has been good to you .. .. and that you are looking forward to the weekend.

Weather wise it isn't sounding very good (so it sounds like a crafting weekend for me .. yay!!!)

Tonight's share isn't my usual style .. .. but after a day of making more of those little handbag cards (they are selling like hotcakes) I decided I deserved a little play .. .. and you might not like the finished result (but I do so that makes it OK .. .. LOL!!!).

There is bit more to this than meets the eye .. .. so I will let you see it first

This used:

Image:  Stamping Up "Medallion"
Image:  Stampendous! "V143" Ornate Heart
Backing Papers:  Pink Petticoat
Paper Crimper
Gold and Black Embossing Powder
Ribbons, Feathers, Button and Pearls from the Stash Box

So why is there more to this than meets the eye .. .. well it all borders around the medallion stamp which in its unadulterated form looks like this

(Am I OK to show a picture of a stamp on my blog like this?
If not would someone please tell me and I will remove it straight away).

This is the biggest and hugest stamp in my collection and it was a fantastic gift from my very good blog buddy Carole.  It was a duplicate in her collection and she thought I would like it .. .. and she was right .. .. but rather than like it .. I love it!!!

My first Stampin Up product!!  Woo hoo!!

Anyway I wanted to do something special with it to show Carole I was putting it to good use (I hope you approve Carole xx).

So where is this stamp on my creation?  Well believe it or not it is the frill under the ribbon!!  I did a Youtube search to see what other people did with this huge stamp and found this great tutorial here (along with lots of other ideas too!!).

.. .. .. and do you know what is really scary .. .. I did all of this using my snippets!!  I should have saved it until Sunday .. . but it's too late now LOL!!!

Rather than use lots of layers I actually gold embossed the edges of my layers.  Then I gold embossed the ornate heart stamp, cut around it and then black embossed around that.

So that is my share tonight.

Lynda asked me today exactly how many cards I make in a day .. .. the answer is "never enough" LOL!!!

Have a great evening and weekend everyone and a huge welcome to all of my new followers .. .. I hope tonight's creation doesn't put you off!!

Love

I really love it Jules! I'm especially loving the gold embossed edges - I've seen this several times now and it's a great look. The medallion is a gorgeous stamp but it made me laugh that it was a duplicate in your friend's collection - it's huge and not really the kind of stamp you forget you've got! Have a great weekend. Vx

Well, I like it and I think that's a clever thing you've done with that stamp too. Great colour combo and the gold embossing round the edge is a favourite trick of mine - it looks expensive :) Elizabeth x

Oh Jules .... what a fantastic and very clever way to use that stamp. I love it!!!! And of course now I'll have to copy it. ;)

The ruffle trim looks very elegant with the stamped image on there; and your hand cutting is wonderful. It looks like you used a punch or die its so smooth and even. You definitely have a nice steady hand.

I am so glad you are enjoying the stamp. I have every SU set I have ever purchased all the way back to 1996. I'm sure I won't be using a lot of them, but I can't part from them ...unless they are duplicates of course.

Which BTW I have found two more duplicates in the organization freenzy I'm currently in. I might have to send those your way as well. But it could take a while, our post offices are now closed on the weekends and that means I have to try and find time after work. LOL!!!

Hugs to you Jules, I'm so happy you are enjoying the gift.
