Hi Everyone
Happy Handy Hippo Monday to you!
I hope everyone has survived the snow and not had any mishaps!!
We still have a bit lying around this morning but certainly not as bad as yesterday.
Sorry that I am a bit late today .. .. hopefully it has given you all time to grab some ribbon bits for another play with my little tutorial coming up later in this post.
Sorry that I am a bit late today .. .. hopefully it has given you all time to grab some ribbon bits for another play with my little tutorial coming up later in this post.
My share today is a little promise of the lovely summer days to come when we will see all those lovely butterflies flitting about here and there.
I used my Nestabilities to make a circular easel card .. .. though why I make easel cards at all I have no idea because I just cannot photograph them for toffee LOL!!!
Below you can find the Handy Hippo magic button .. .. and if you click on it you can see all the lovely goodies I used to make this little project. Everything I have used has been automatically added to a shopping basket and as always you can remove anything you do not need (or add anything else you can't resist).
You will notice that the actual butterfly stamp is out of stock at the moment .. . .there were loads available when I made my sample .. .. they are fluttering out of stock at the speed of light!! Can't wait to play with it again as I can see so many possibilities for the lovely images. (You can asked to be emailed when it is back in stock).
Here is the full set .. .. isn't it scrummy:
This week I am concentration on using ribbon when you don't want to have a bow.
These are the three looks I am going to show you first. They are all basically the same .. .. but different LOL!!! |
The first look is achieved simply by threading your ribbon through one hole and up through the second. The two ends of the ribbon being stuck down with tape on the reverse side. |
To achieve the second look .. .. instead of wrapping the left hand end to the back of your work you need to thread it back down the first hole |
So your work will look like this at this stage |
Next bring the same end back up through the second hole again |
You can cut the ends now .. .. which is great if you don't have much ribbon to work with |
Alternatively you can wrap the ends and attach them to the back of your work |
Here are the three looks .. .. and to ring the changes even more I have stuck a little flower into the gap on the first example I showed you to give it another look. |
So that is it for another week.
A few more ways for you to play with your ribbons. Apologies again for the photo overload .. .. but short of a video (and there is no chance of one of those!!) there is no other way I can show you each step.
Still some other ways to use up your ribbons so Part 3 will be coming next week.
I hope that you have all enjoyed my post today and I wish you all a good week until the next Happy Hippo Monday.
Love
and all the lovely friendly people at Handy Hippo
