My photo
A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

WASTE NOT WEDNESDAY (ON A SATURDAY)

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all well.

Have you got any snow?

Ours started around 1.00pm and we now have quite a covering.  Wonder if hubby's football match will be postponed tomorrow?!?!?!

My share today is to keep my lovely blog buddy Lisa company in her personal challenge .. .. Waste Not Wednesdays.  The idea is to print out and colour, or ink up and use, images that we haven't used before.  Well my image today is part of a set from Digistamp Boutique and I decided it was time it got to see the light of day.  Though to be fair I haven't had it that long.

I was also going to enter it into the St Luke's Charity Cards Challenge where this month the theme is "Love and Lace"  .. .. but of course with a theme like that it would have helped if I had added some lace instead of the ribbon .. .. doh!!!

This used:

Image:  Digistamp Boutique "Doodle Wedding Snap"
Image:  Inkadinkado "G3196" (used with Brilliance Ink Pad to stamp the frame)
Sentiment:  Lili of the Valley
Backing Paper:  Raspberry Road
Brilliance Pearlescent Beige Ink Pad
Diamond Stickles
Ribbon, flower and pearls from the Stash Box

Thank you for all your lovely comments on the flower I showed on my post yesterday.

Quite a few of you asked where the pattern had come from .. .. .. well this is the book

I think my lovely Sis bought it from the NEC on one of our visits.  She nearly always comes away with a book or two!!

The flowers in the book are actually made using wool .. .. but they would be far too bulky for me .. .. so I just used a smaller crochet hook and some embroidery thread.  (I have loads of the stuff left hanging about from those cross stitch days!!).

I have had a look on the internet and the book is readily available .. .. but of course there are also lots of free patterns on the tinternet too.  Oh dear ... why do I need to sleep?  So many things I want to try and so little time!!

Have a good evening everyone .. .. I hope the snow doesn't cause too many problems.

See you tomorrow.

Take care

Love

Great idea, I've got loads of digi stamps that have never seen the light of day, oh, and not a few clear and rubber stamps tucked away still not seen an ink pad ... I keep saying I must do something with them, but that's as far as it gets. Love your stamp, young and fresh looking and that ribbon is scrumptious, so never mind the lace. I had a feeling that was the book you were using, it's been on my Amazon wishlist for some considerable time :) I thought that even with my arthritic thumbs, I could chance crocheting a wee flower or two! I can't believe that we have no snow and yet the rest of the country seems getting the white stuff. Hope hubby still gets his game tomorrow. Stay wrapped up and warm. Elizabeth x

Your crochet flower is absolutely gorgeous, Jules. That's one thing I never learnt how to do!!
Our snow stated at 12.37pm precisely!!!!We were having a bet on what time it arrived. I lost with 3.03pm!! We could seeing it coming down the valley before it actually arrived which was weird, but we've got a good covering now and it's still going.
Your Wedding card is so pretty.
Stay warm and enjoy your Sunday.
Hugs Lisax

Wow! this is beautiful Jules! What a gorgeous image and paper! and I love how you've done the sentiment on the paper - I might have to have a go at that - it looks fab!
The Crochet flower book looks amazing!! You know when I did my flower, I used wool and yes it was very bulky and quite ugly!! LOL - I never thought to use embroidery silk. I have tons too!! I used to do a lot of cross stitch years ago. What a fab tip - thanks so much for sharing!!
Hope you are having a nice weekend!
Love Sue xx
