A very warm welcome to my teeny, tiny part of the huge world of blogging. This is where I share my passion for making hand made greeting cards. So - why "Always with a Heart"? Well this is for two reasons. Firstly, it is because every card I produce carries a heart on it somewhere. This can be big and bold or small and almost hidden - the fun sometimes is just trying to find it! Secondly it is because I put my heart into everything I produce. I hope that any visitors enjoy seeing what I post. If you drop by then please leave me a comment so that I know you called. It would be nice to know that you have found my heart in what I do.

HAPPY HARVEST

Hi Everyone

I hope your weekend has got off to a good start.

It was harvest festival day here .. .. .. as in the day Mr Heart decided to dig up all the crops he has been growing.  So vegetables are coming out of our ears!

Seeing him digging up the carrots reminded me of this stamp that hasn't seen the light of day for a while

This used:

Image:  Trimcraft "CLG STMP" Harvest
Sentiment:  Woodware Clear Stamp Set "JGS581" It's the Little Things
Backing Paper:  Pink Petticoat
ProMarkers
My Trusty Sewing Machine

So most of today has been spent in the kitchen.

Courgettes were turned into soup that was frozen ready for adding Stilton Cheese, Seasoning and Cream to when it is time for it to be eaten.

The beetroots have been turned into Beetroot Chutney using an old recipe my late Mum in Law used to use many many years ago.  We haven't made it before and I am just keeping my fingers crossed it tastes as good as I remember .. .. .. especially as we have a rather large amount of jars full of the stuff.

Carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers are still in the fridge for future use .. .. and there are lots of tomatoes still ripening.

We have done quite well with our crops this year considering we are only really just getting into it.  The only things we failed with were radishes and lettuce which we thought would be super easy to grow!!

Anyway, that is me for today.  Good luck with the heart searching .. .. a bit of a tricky one tonight.

Is it the pocket on his overalls? We have tomatoes rippening up everywhere. Gave some to the neighbours and still have more to pick. I love this image.

Morning Jules...love your ‘harvest ‘ image and it did take me a while to spot the ‘heart’..very well disguised...isn’t it lovely when you’ve got fresh home grown vegetables and they do taste so much nicer...beetroot is one of my favourite vegetables hit in cold...

Enjoy your day

How nice to have veggies in the garden to harvest Jules, we have Tomatos, Cucumbers and Corgettes and lots of Chillies. Normally we grow runner beans too but this year they bombed. I love the gorgeous card and the great sentiment too.

Aah, such a lovely image Jules and a great sentiment too. We've been making soup with our courgettes and hubby has planted far too many tomatoes this year and it's the best crop we've ever had! Just a good job they don't all ripen at once :) x

A super card Jules, a cute image and great sentiment.
Sounds like you had a very productive day, it's nice when everything comes together and you can turn it into some lovely things for later in the year - I can't believe your radishes failed, we usually put them in amongst the carrots because they come up so quickly and you can harvest them before the carrots appear!

Ahhhh this is super and what a great sentiment! Ive not grown much this year, only lettuce and lots of flowers. I made my plot green manure so it should with a little luck grow stuff better next year. I had so many courgettes last year!! Hazel xx

Oh Jules, this is an adorable card! Makes for one cute and funny birthday card! Glad to hear that your crops did well in the garden, that is always nice and with these times it is good to have your own grown food! Sounds like Mr. Heart did well with his harvest but I'm sure it kept you busy in the kitchen. A good busy! I am looking and looking for that heat and the only place I can see a heart is in the bunny's nose. Yes, no??????? lol Hugs, Brenda

Or are the hearts in the carrot leaves???? Oh my I'm going to drive myself crazy finding that heart! lol Those are my guesses, but I know once you tell us where the heart is I'm going to smack myself wondering how I missed it! Hugs, Brenda (again!)

I know it's wrong but I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that your radishes failed, I thought it was just me!! Mine have huge long roots and no radish...I was convinced that we had a faulty batch of seeds!! Love your card, love that cute character andthe grey goes perfectly with the carrot orange xx

A really great card, super fun image and great choice of colours, fun sentiment too.
We have two greenhouses, one for cucumber and one for tomatoes. I give the cucumbers away to Daughter and neighbours and the odd one to Chris, I do not like cucumbers but started growing them when my Grandsons were very little as they use to eat loads of them. I do not give any of my tomatoes away as I make chutney and soup with them. We also have quite a large onion patch and I grow them as they last nearly all the year round and I make onion soup and they also go in the chutney. We also have a strawberry patch, we just eat those. I do not grow anything in the winter as I am a summer gardener.
